echoing what ender-ender and rocketeer have said above..
i don't intend to change your mind (nor can i), but it's difficult for me to agree with how emotional attachment to the band or musicians behind the music is somehow a residue of childhood we must banish or the emblem of adolescent naivety that we all ought to eventually grow out of. ok fine, flesh and soundwaves are different things; but psychologically they aren't as separable as two disparate words on paper. after all music doesn't just fall off a tree - especially the sort of music that resonates with one on an extremely intimate level, and which profoundly affects him/her for a long time (maybe even the rest of their lives). it seems obviously logical then, at least in one's mind, to feel like the musician can speak to you (or a part of yourself) in a way that your parents or closest friends or the person physically beside you never could and never will. i should also add that lots of people i know capable of this experience lead perfectly normal and well-adjusted lives without the tiniest bit of delusional fantasies about the musicians themselves.
if anything, i've always felt that any dogged insistence on uncoupling music from the people who made it is precisely the kind of thought that drives some people to happily decide that the music is all they care about, as a result of which they couldn't care less about supporting the musicians behind it since these 'strangers' are so remote and divorced from their emotional investment anyway.
speaking for myself, i definitely enjoy the company of fans who are more intense (i.e. 'insane') about musicians whom they don't know in person but who means a great deal to them - and no, i see nothing 'weak' about that - over those who discuss bands and music matter-of-factly with a straight face as if they are being interviewed for their professional opinion on global warming. this latter group of people gets me terribly tetchy and over time i find it tiring to associate with them. i guess if you really want to you could call emotional attachment to the bands irrational, but for me this kind of irrationality is a lot more humanly valuable than the 'stoicism' you demand of people as if grieving a disbandment is somehow a betrayal of our own intelligence. because we are more than that.

I must disagree with you. You think it's wrong to get attached to a band you love, since all indie bands eventually disband? That's like thinking it's wrong to love your dog and be extremely emotional about its death since all pets die eventually. Getting attached to things is life, and when something great ends, you get sad. Period.

    Exactly.

How is that any different than getting eg. sad about some fictional character dying in a film/series/book? Are you saying, that everyone who was sad about eg.
death had a weak personality and therefore their sadness is silly? And now we are talking about completely fictional and made up character, whose existance you discovered by rdeciphering some man-made symbols on a thin sheet of mashed up wood.
Sorry, you're totally right. It's insane to be mad about a band disbanding.

It really irks me when people judge why someone is attached to a band. Everyone likes them for different reasons. Stop thinking your taste is better than someone else's. News flash: It's not.

You don't get attached to bands and the music they create? Good for you. But when I love a band and find something special about their music, for whatever reason I deem fit, it's sad to know I'll never hear new music from that group again. Not in the same way it was created by that line up. Yes, we all know indies bands have a high likelihood of breaking up but that doesn't mean people shouldn't support them and believe in what they are doing. I actually find it sad how cold and detached some people can be.

@Des, I am not sure if your comment was sarcastic or not, but let's just say it isn't. Music can have just as much impact on a human being as a pet, or a family member, or another beloved one, for all that matters. The relativity of a musician being an ungraspable force, is in this case not relative at all. Don't you read about thousands of teenagers who have suffered throughout depression (or even adults, whatever the age may be), and a band or musician has helped them struggle through this with their upbeat lyrics or relatable subjects ingrained in their music? These people aren't sad individuals, these people aren't to be undermined for their inability to force themselves through something alone, they are not weak and certainly don't have an unstable personality. No one deserves to be alone, and if there is no one around a lot of people tend to lean toward the comfort of music. And in this case it does not matter (or in any case), if this band is well-known or still lingers deeply in an underground scene.

Like this, bands can have just as much value as any other hobby or esteemed and treasured dear one. What is pitiable, is that there are people out there who — like said — judge others on their reason of attachment. You have no clue what their story is. And even if you are aware, everybody's bonds and ties with an item or living human being — far away and unobtainable yes or no — are of their own appraisal.

The only problem with that is that you need to email them your order and if you're trying for something rare, it'll probably sell out before they get back with you. Last time I ordered like that with puresound, it took them about 2 days to email me back about my order and I missed out on everything.

What you CAN do though, is create an account on tenso.com. They give you your own address in Japan to ship things to, which allows you to register for a puresound account. That way, you can just add things to the cart and snipe the hell out of them. They let you pay with credit cards, so it works out pretty well. Tenso also has super low fees and shipping(puresound offers free shipping as well). Last time I ordered 2 DVDs from puresound via Tenso, it cost me a whopping 750 to get the items to me(650 yen shipping + 100 yen in fees for Tenso). This way also lets you get points for discounts and take advantage of puresound's sales, which they ONLY offer if you have an account(I've tried asking before when ordering via email and they told me I couldn't get the sale price).

    Hello there.

I'm not too sure, how many people from Germany are even registered here, but I'll give it a try anyways.
I want to form a kind of vk-influenced band around Düsseldorf/Essen/Dortmund.
The plan is to create a unique sound, write songs, play lives and that stuff.

There's no concept for the band yet, so that's also something we would work on together.

So far we are vocals, bass and drums and we're searching for 1-2 guitarists and maybe some other instruments (keyboard? E-violin? etc)
