They mean everything to me, and not at all. It's a complicated answer.
 
My most favorite thing to do when I first listen to a song is to listen to it repeatedly.
With every listen, I try and gauge the theme of the song by:
Tone of voice Tempo (BPM usually) Composition of each instrument at play Duration of the track How well each instrument enters and exits the spotlight I believe my most memorable track is July 8 by the GazettE. I spent almost 3 years listening to that track, never caring for the actual translation of the lyrics. The emotion I felt represented by what the GazettE brought forth through their instruments was a translation in itself.
I did eventually look up the lyrical translation, and immediately broke into tears of disbelief because the translation was EXACTLY what I had translated in my mind every time I listened to that song.  
 
So in other words, lyrics mean everything to me, but only after having figured out the translation for myself. So it's up to the band to give me something to feel upon first listen.
 
This applies strongly to Japanese music.

personally I recommend everything because these guys are what got me into vk

What's a good place to start with this band? I REALLY liked their 'kyuubi' single and the tracks they had on the 'FAMILY PARTY' compilation!

Don't even get me started on the ONE OK ROCK and DEG concerts I've been to recently. If it wasn't for the venues being so amazing (and the beer selection), I'd have a fit.
 
I go to Lives to finally be in the same place as the band that I have mad respect for and to see/hear them with my own eyes/ears, in the comfort of my hometown.
 
I dunno, I guess I'm just a calm person. I do respect the Japanese people enough to do as they do/ask, and honestly its beautiful seeing someone from overseas behave the way these bands do.
 
It would be nice to go to a concert in japan and enjoy, from what I've heard from friends over there, one of the BEST concert experiences I will ever experience in my life.

You and I both know that the moment Hizaki decides to leave, this band is DONE. As great as Teru is, this band will not stay afloat without Hizaki. Zin is not that great of a vocalist, and pales in comparison to Kamijo.

Okay, it turned out to be quite decent, heh. Also, the recording quality adds a bonus charm imo.

Them mellow guitar riffs.

Yuki's drumming was a core part of their sound, and together with Masashi they were one hell of a rhythm unit. You could hear it more in Versailles than Jupiter. I always thought that Jupiter was trying to be Versailles-lite and market a more pop power metal combo, and in that context I understand what they feel. If Jupiter is going to stay the course - and it seems like they will - then Masashi and Yuki will continue to play second fiddle to the guitarists. There's no room for them to grow in this band anymore.
I hope they stick together since they're leaving together and maybe even form a new band. Visual kei needs them.
