I own a Shiba. His name is Eight (Hachi (how original, I know, don't let your eyes roll too far back...)) and he's a shedding S.O.B. Eight knows I don't like it when he rubs himself on my leg because of the hair, yet any chance he gets, he jumps on my bed and rubs all over me in my sleep like an asshole. It wakes me up and then he'll run away like the damn gingerbread man. Sometimes I think he gets his jollies off making me pissed. I love that dog.

What the above people said. Honest answer will be that only YOU can determine what appeals to you. Perhaps later the bands you thought were stale might actually become your faves as you grow wiser (I'm not saying you're immature). edit: Or am I?
  3. I didn't know Ruki liked teletubbies haha

Lol you mean primarily a US tour? They've been to Mexico. There was a petition created a LOOONG time ago for them to appear here in Chicago. I don't remember what happened with that..... The problem is not so much them, it's just that the support from fans here in the states are minuscule in comparison to the fans outside. If memory serves right, doesn't the GazettE Fan Club have to fund it or something? Edit: Old news but relevant. http://visualioner.com/2015/09/15/foreign-fan-assaulted-japanese-fan-at-gazette-concert-and-the-band-is-pissed/ Stuff like this kinda doesn't make anyone outside of Japan look too good.

That's exactly the message I perceived when I first glanced at this photo. From the comment videos/backstage footage of shows that I've seen, that's how Jrockers deal with humor, by putting on a pokerface (or in Kyo's case, turning around). Hell, I'd look away too. Kyo is probably embarrased to be seen on camera with these losers haha.
  8. Just ordered my Limited Edition copy after enjoying the hell out of the album. Money very well spent!

I have to agree, this is their best album to date. After the first listen, it just lingers in your mind, as you secretly hum your favorite tracks all day in a dreamy-like state everywhere you go. Not to mention it's the perfect time of the year to release the album too, as their sound gives off an invigorating or brisk feel, suiting the fall season perfectly. In terms of their performance, its flawless IMO. Probably some of the best pacing, tone, and composition I've heard from them (or any band right now). The overall sound is top tier, with not one instrument overshadowing the other. Hazuki's vocals are so damn clean, that I can't even right now. If you wanna hear what an ACTUAL improvement is, listen to this album. In fact, I am so impressed, that I am purchasing this CD. My personal favorite tracks are: 2. D.A.R.K. 3. Antares 4. Evoke 7. Eternity 8. Fallen 11. Cosmos 12. Melancholic 13. Moon (Yes, quite a few haha) Since the album's release, it's the only thing I can listen to at the moment. The album gets better with every listen. This is the EXACT potential that I knew that they were capable of. Let's say Lynch has managed to pull a few of my heartstrings (what's left of them anyways).

  11. So the concert last night in chicago was for sure better than 2 years ago. The venue was better, I felt. Can confirm that Kaoru's hand has seen better days haha.

Aww I'm jealous! I remember that tour. Had I known about their disbandment soon after, I would've gone. Only concert I still beat myself up over.

If I hadn't seen Diru multiple times I would probably be feeling the same about the concert yesterday - especially with all the WtD content.

I nearly killed my friends over that D'espairsRay concert. We ended up being late to the show and came in during the end of the first song. They were over an hour late to showing up at my place to leave for the concert. About 5 minutes more and I would have left without them - I was a little pissy lol.

The show was great, indeed better than at the HOB in 2013! We probably saw each other due to small venue size ha

  12. For those of you in the Chicago area, are anyone of you interested in a ticket for the Dir En Grey concert tonight? I had someone bail last minute and figured someone who couldn't get a ticket would like to go.

Man, if only I had checked earlier and had the will power to make the 2.5 hour drive on a Monday >.<

  13. Hmm. Will evaluate his playing methods and assess how bad it is in person today at the concert.
  14. YuyoDrift

Indie band? Any info on the record company they're under, if any? If the vocalist made a better effort in their singing, I'd be a bit more interested. Too dull to tell right now.
  15. YuyoDrift

You're telling me someone was singing in this?!?!? Haha. No but seriously, point well made.

Awww wtf? Now THAT is a surprise. Edit: I just remembered when they canceled their U.S. appearance on halloween, I was SO salty haha.

Well it's more of a "Are you having a VK mid-life crisis?" type of therapy/talk haha. I think a few members here needed this. Surprisingly, I didn't stumble across any previous thread related to this when I searched. Maybe I just suck at using the site hmmm.

I was waiting for your input Bio (based this topic off of your, and a few other's statuses), and agree that it's a hard question to answer. That's why my questions are so vague. As for what the fuss is all about with meh bands, I couldn't tell you. We're in the same boat haha. Could be the age, could be our experiences over the decade (for better or worse), but I'd take it as good sign that you are listening to the music with more than just the intention of saying yay or nay. I sometimes have my earbuds put on for the sole purpose of listening to the silence. There's a beauty in it, but you have to reach that point and come back to know what I mean.
  22. YuyoDrift

You believe it will be any different?
  23. YuyoDrift

Of course there's a lot more to take in account with each band and the reason behind their decision. Didn't mean to generalize. Haha. Don't hurt me.
  24. YuyoDrift

A lot of you have made some interesting points. It seems the scene has become limited in variety (no new blood, ex-members joining other ex-members) yet the # of bands has grown quite a bit. So I can see the yawn in some of you who say the music has gone stale. Looks like too much quantity, not enough quality. The same can be said about any music genre though. Even the musicians seem to be feeling the same way. I've seen too many Disbandments/Hiatuses from some of the greats these last couple years due to feeling like they've done it all/no more to achieve. Take for instance DEATHGAZE or 12012. Great group of individuals, yet out of the blue, come out and say they feel they've done all they can as a group and feel its time to move on/rethink their music careers.
