@Bear I listened to Pneuma and I'm completely mind blown. Its fucking excellent. I would love to hear more recommendations for dynamic and experimental metal bands.
Anyway, Intronaut just released another fucking great record:
-
this is easily one of the funniest things I saw on internet
they're the guys from RTJ btw

I Loved "Visions" not sure about these new songs, but I'm excited anyway.

I'm glad to know we're from the same city. For your enthusiasm, there's even a shoegaze band from Fortaleza! http://maquinas.bandcamp.com/album/maquinas
And anyway, back to the topic....
I wonder when DIIV is gonna release their new record, "Is there are" not yet announced a release date, their new song is pretty good:
The first record by then, Oshin, is easy one of the best albums of the whole 2010s imo

My two favorite bands together. Excited for this

I'm not aware of anything they're released before Blue Miasma. These two songs got me definitely hooked up. Another US band with a great varity discography was
Nachtmystium. Everything they did from Reign of the Malicious to The World We Left Behind is very good. IMOA Forest of Stars is from England and are very underappreciated as well. Beware The Swords You Cannot See was released this year. -
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Leviathan from before, but a few of the albums are totally recommended for fans of Xasthur, Krieg, Twilight, Lurker of Chalice, Draugar, Blut aus Nord and more. The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide and Tentacles of Whorror are USBM classics. Hypnotic, devilish and mean. I think the vocals sounds amazing on both albums. Unholy, possessed, almost schizophrenic in a way.
I think the band is at its best when Wrest decides to slow things down a bit.
Edit: By the way, Leviathan are one of those bands that seems to grow a lot on people with time. I wasn't a fan to begin with, and most other I know who are into the band wasn't either.
Yes, I listen to pretty much anything involving Jef Whitehead. Also a big fan of Xasthur, Twilight, Krieg, and Blut Aus Nord. I like Deathspell Omega a lot, too.
For those interested, noisey made a very cool documentary on the guy, also having Scott Conner of Xasthur and Russell Menzies of Striborg
parts 2 and 3 on related videos

Wishing my improvements for Kaoru's right hand issues. He was definitely playing in a strange way in that Un Deux video.

My personnal recomendation for BUCK-TICK is 2007's Tenshi no revolver. Their 2000s stuff tend to have a more easy-listening, acessible sound. 90s B-T tend do be more experimental. 80s is a good one, too.
This is actually a song from 13kai wa gekkou cuz is one of them most popular songs and is really great indeed (and Sakurai is my favorite japanese vocalist of all time)

Local bands of my city.
Old, but a classic one.

What can I say about the subject? I'm cancer, so...

Só o Brasil produz essas pérolas.

Welcome! Great taste and Sweden is awersome. I'm fond of a lot of things from Sweden.

Thanks everyone! I'm really enjoying the forum.
cool taste! yay to MBV & YLT! fav sludge/doom and BM bands?
i'll definitely go with Neurosis. Powerful, cathartic, emotional music.
So, anyone can see on my profile that I'm a user since 2013. Kind of a ghost user I know, but I decided to become active and give you guys all the proper feedback you all deserve.

I decided to make a introdction.
I'm Pedro, brazilian. I Started listen to japanese stuff back in 2006 when I was 14, introduced by L'arc. Didn't take to much time for me to knowing about Dir en grey and going tottally crazy about them and become my favorite band. I listen to a lot of stuff from diferent genres and countries. Brazilian popular music, bossa nova, samba, 80s and 90s alternative rock(shoegaze, noise rock, post-rock etc), bands like Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Yo La Tengo and My Bloody Valentine are among my favorites. Singer-songwritter/folk stuffs like Dylan, Nick Cave and Tom Waits. Sludge, doom, stoner, black and death metal as well. And jazz somethimes.
Japanese bands that got my attention besides Diru are MUCC, Merry, Boris, Envy, downy, THE NOVEMBERS, BUCK-TICK, Plastic Tree, Shiina Ringo/Tokyo Jihen, pretty much anything involving Kiyoharu and so forth.
Hoping to have a great time at the forum!

Nobody commented on Leviathan's Scar Sighted? One of the finest records of 2015 IMO.

And I'm totally digging Haunted Shores, great stuff.
Does VK do it for you anymore?

Well, to be honest, I have been totally indifferent if the band I listen is VK or isn't since I started to listen to japanese music back in 06.
I just like rock music, never really care how the band look like. I mean, I don't mind if is Sug or Boris, envy or Plastic tree and so on. I really don't make any kind of distinction in my musical taste at all. Not sure if this is what this topic is about, anyway.
