    Dunkirk

Probably my least favorite Nolan movie but it's still good. Imagine the first 10 min of Dark Knight stretched out to an hour and 40 min in terms of the feel. That's  Dunkirk for you. The level of tension is intense and gripping. The music score plays a major role like it's its own character. I'm not sure if Hans Zimmer did one continuous track throughout the film but if he did, then wow. This movie leaves you no room to breathe until the last 5 min. Because Dunkirk is solely focused on the event, there's no time knowing the main characters. I don't remember if they even revealed their names. Otherwise, go see it.

i saw it too some days ago and i definitely agree with you that this is my least favorite movie of his, though, sadly, it wasn't that gripping to me. i'm just not into war theme movies i guess. still, it was pretty enjoyable and i don't regret about wasting time/money on this.

And I've got a question for y'all. Are there any other great shows about solving a murder? I don't want any of those episodic shows, though. I've seen True Detective obviously, Fargo's first season and The Bridge (the Danish/Swedish version) to name a few.

try original The Killing, aka Forbrydelsen. it's just all the way fantastic and overall it's much better than american version imo. also there's a british copycat (kinda) called Broadchurch. another british series, The Fall, gave some The Killing vibes, plus there's Gillian Anderson. and also there's this Bosch series, that i started yesterday. there's also two cops who are trying to solve a murder of a little kid. so far looks pretty good.

besides of Bosch i finished and started a few things:

    - Louie (a very good sitcom about nothing. hilariously funny at times)

    - Band of Brothers (somehow i always thought that i've seen this one, but it turned out that i only saw The Pacific. well i'm glad that i decided to doubt my memory and watch it. great stuff, even though i don't really like war related movies/series. this one is definitely must see)

    - Blood Drive (sadly not as good as i hoped. they lost me after that weak attempt of introducing the plot into grindhouse series. but i'll still keep on watching it at work just to annoy my co-workers)

    - SKAM (started this norwegian series because there was too much hype about it. so far it's just an average teenage drama, but i'm enjoying it. also looking forward to 3rd season, which people are praising so much)

    - Scrubs (well, yeahhhh. i'm not marathoning it, only watching like 3-5 episodes per day, so i guess i'll have my daily sitcom dose for two months)

    - The Twilight Zone (also taking my time with this one. i'm not so fond with mid XX acting, but somehow here it doesn't bother me at all)

oh and this week's Twin Peaks episode was just... wow. so obscure and disturbing and creepy! damn, i had to pause it a couple of time, that's how much disturbing it was. totally loved it tho

  4. i personally have a bit mixed feelings about Fargo. second half was undoubtedly amazing and if whole season was like that, it would be my favorite for sure. but instead first half wasn't that entangling, even boring at times. 3rd episodes itself seemed like a filler to me. so i guess this season is about on the same level as 2nd one to me, with 1st one being my favorite. can't be 100% sure about this, because it's been a while since i watched season 1 and i would need to revisit all seasons, maybe next year before 4th season starts. i really hope there'll be a 4th season, otherwise it'd be such a fucking loss to the series world. really don't wanna lose my favorite series.

  5. watched American Gods because of the hype. it was pretty good, especially i enjoyed the visual effects. as for the plot, it was a bit boring but still mostly enjoyable. liked Laura Wood's arc most of all.

also started American Crime Story and judging by 3 episodes it seems to be alright to watch. O. J. Simpson is quite annoying tho. or maybe Cuba is just trying too hard there.

A2MR, Axiom Verge and Environmental Station Alpha have been out for a while though.. ; ^ )

wasn't aware of A2MR, but the latter 2 aren't even real metroids. yeah, it's metroidivania and shit, and very good shit on that i can agree, but still they failed to give me dat awld metroid feels i always get when i play nes/snes/gb/gba metroids for n-th time.

  7. my day was already great but this made it so much better:

even though FOXPILL album should've been cheap-arse used copy it turned out to be brand new and sealed D; now i don't wanna open it. and don't wanna open meruhen's album either >:[ damn, it's been a while since i bought sealed copies and i already forgot that feeling of despair when i have to open them up. but otherwise i won't be able to listen to it. ugh :/

  8. finished 5th season of Orange Is The New Black yesterday and maaaaaan, it was fucking amazing! first half of the season was pretty slow, yet still great. second half was very intense and awesome. and that season finale! T__T i love/hate such season finales because even though they are fucking awesome, it is still painful to wait 1 year for the next season, ughhhhh. love ya gurls, see you in a year <333

started watching danish political drama Borgen. 5 episodes in and have to say it's quite enjoyable. and some great actors too. i'm glad i decided to check this one out.

also still watching Justified (in the middle of season 2 now). i mostly like the plot and characters, but already sick of that hillbilly's accent and cliché wannabe-cowboy phrases. FX's censorship doesn't do it much justice either.

  9. tried to watch A Series of Unfortunate Events and The Get Down but gave up after a few episodes. not really the kinds of series that i enjoy watching.

watched new season of House of Cards and it was awesome as expected. Kevin Spacey did a splendid job out there once again. i was prepared that this would be show's last season, but somehow they pulled it off so there's enough material for one or even two more seasons.

also watched Big Little Lies. at first they got me hooked up by that "mysterious" murder, which turned out to be quite disappointing in the end. the characters (and actors themselves) were pretty good, especially Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård's characters. too bad the plot didn't offer much.

now strated watching Justified. looks good so far and there's Walton Goggins, so bonus points for that.
