  1. Yes, it's good! Just like Kobayashi said in that interview it's like a nice blend of everything they have done so far with a hint of something new.

Gonna be bumping !!!!!!!!!!! in my car a lot.

ただ遠くへ is definitely my early favorite. And dat trumpet in the last song <3

  2. envy - dude with a cap yells (not anymore tho) while the band plays christmas tunes

勝手にしやがれ - old men trying to be cool

the god and death stars - they play the same song again and again ...and again

all my favorite j-indie bands - nobody cares OR why did you sell out you bastards

  3. Not in a particular order, that would be too hard

    - Age Factory (quickly becoming one of my favorite bands)

    - THE NOVEMBERS

    - The Birthday (even tho their more recent material is a bit stagnant, first 4 albums are so solid)

    -  凛として時雨

    -  Yellow Studs

    -  THE BACK HORN

    -  Envy

    -  Lostage

    - té

    -  ゆらゆら帝国

  4.

    The Handmaiden:

Oh damn, completely forgot about this. Gonna watch it ASAP.

And I watched The Nice Guys a while ago in theater. I'm a bit tired of these buddy cop movies, but this was fun. I noticed one or two possible plot holes but I would have to see it again to be sure. And the plot development was surprisingly unpredictable at some points, which is always nice. 7,5/10

  5. Dirty Old Men <3 Never forget.

    1. Kuro - Dead Heat 10000V
    2. 或る感覚 (Aru Kankaku) - city style alternative blues
    3. 二千花 (Nichika) - Garage
    4. Drop's - 木曜日の雨のブルース
    5. ミドリ (Midori) - 鉄塔の上の2人
    6. BUCK-TICK - CHECK UP
    7. ばちかぶり (Bachikaburi) - 日之丸
    8. 바스코 (Vasco) - Underground King (Inst.)
    9. aquarifa - Switch
    10. Sólstafir - Rismál

This was an easy choice until the Sólstafir song came up, then it was a little harder to choose, but I had to go with 二千花 after all. Everybody should listen to them!

  6. Nine times out of ten the problem with any of these live-action adaptations is that they lack heart. Dragonball Evolution was a piece of shit and the screenwriter himself admitted he was just after some easy money. But there's no point blaming western studios for doing bad jobs with adaptations since japanese can't do much better either. I actually prefer big American studios doing adaptations for e.g. Ghost in the Shell or Death Note. The settings of those movies work way better outside Japan and at least they have the budget to make it look good, CGI-wise. I can't say that I know any Japanese live-action adaptations that don't have bad CGI. (Attack on Titan, Rurouni Kenshin etc.) I actually liked the Rurouni Kenshin movies but the CGI was terrible. Of course there's always the fear that the special effects will suck anyway or they have some hack screenwriter who lacks passion and will ruin everything. But I'm still looking forward to GiTS and if it was some japanese studio doing that movie, I most likely wouldn't be looking forward to it. Japan should just focus on doing low-budget high school rom-com movies á la Ao Haru Ride or Orange.

I'm pretty sure that SAO TV series will suck.

I want that live-action Cowboy Bebop, though. Just saying.
