@Delkmiroph: What do you mean? I didn't figure out too many things yet, sorry :D I leveled up my character a bit now, the fight seems easier now!

@Tetora: I agree, my mind was blown when I first started the fight, it's so dynamic and atmospheric

  3. Really like your stuff man! Would love to hear a full song with vocals since your voice sounds pretty nice in the first sample
  4. It's sad to see that some people apparently think any form of mixing vocals is either cheating, autotuning or witchcraft

Yeah true! Thanks for being open-minded about it though, it would be sad if people didn't see that everyone put a lot of effort into their amazing entries, no matter if with mixing or not :)

Just because you mix your voice and correct some notes, it doesn't mean you can't sing live. Let's use Ruki (The GazettE) as an example. GazettO's albums haves pitch correction, ofc, but look at him singing live. It's amazing

No worries! It's just a contest for fun. People shouldn't be taking it -that- seriously.

Good stuff, I like your cover of the Durara OP! Gonna follow you on Soundcloud, keep it up
  6. Kaleidoscope

Wowow this band sounds great, need to check if I can find stuff of them here On topic, just going with some of the first ones I used to love. Not really breakdowns in the sense of Metalcore though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZORVK7FHgo 2:47-3:35 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3RhdAYqMQA 2:43-3:10
  7. Kaleidoscope

Oh hi, nice to see you back jiyun And your D cover sounds great, you really improved from when I heard you last time! Looking forward to hear you in the new contest again and compete with you once more ;D
  8. Not the main type of music I listen to, but I do enjoy quite a few K-pop artists. What a lot of people hate about it (ridiculous visuals, pretty boys trying to be thugs, blatant melodies and so on) are the fun things about it, I enjoy it exactly because it is so ridiculous and over the top. I wouldn't necessarily say there is no talent in K-pop though, some bands have amazing singers (SHINee for example) and some groups like Big Bang do have some more creative tracks with decent songwriting. It also comes down to what you define as K-pop, since if you go more into Hip Hop, there is some high quality stuff like Epik High or Outsider. I can understand why a lot of people hate the whole thing though

Thanks for listening and commenting! Hmm, the lyrics are indeed not overly personal - to me it didn't feel soulless at all when I recorded it, but that's definitely something rather subjective. I guess it might be because I have a pretty technical approach to singing? I sometimes think a bit too much about the singing itself (which is most likely due to the classical background), so I guess a rather Rock-ish approach to the vocals might help to have a better impact. Definitely appreciating the feedback, gonna try to improve that, thank you!
  10. Kaleidoscope

Some really good stuff in here, especially enjoyed Asian Chairshot and Thornapple!
  11. Kaleidoscope

@emmny: Thanks a lot, so glad you liked it and even more glad you enjoyed my singing! Haha, was hoping D'espa fans would drop by, they will always be my biggest inspiration for music Yeah, I kinda see what you mean with that - this one is pretty straightforward, so we will try to make the songwriting more interesting for the next few songs, thanks a lot for your feedback!
  12. Kaleidoscope

Wow, you guys sound really professional! Great stuff, waiting for the first album
  13. Kaleidoscope

Interesting stuff, sounds pretty progressive! Looking forward to hear more from you guys
  14. Kaleidoscope

Pretty mixed feedback it seems, thank you for the comments! @ender-ender: Thanks a lot, glad you liked it Gonna work on more stuff and trying to improve! @DogManX: Yeah, it is a demo and all done with home recording. Why shouldn't we pull it off though? We all recorded our instruments/vocals at home and put the whole thing together, apart from the drums there is nothing artificial. I respect your opinion, but I think you are being overly negative here - the screams have absolutely no effects on them apart from compression (which is standard for all vocals), the band name is a reference to a D'espairsRay song of the same name and I personally don't think my vocals are weak, whereas the last part is of course just my opinion. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, indeed we are just at the beginning and trying to improve! @beni: Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it Screaming is actually not really my main style, but I'm very happy to hear that you like it that much! I'm in fact a classically trained singer (if you wanna hear something in that direction, check out this cover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmBOBg5fA-o), however, this song is a bit on the higher end of my range, so my control is indeed lacking sometimes, I can see what you mean there. Gonna work on that for the next recordings, thanks a lot again!

Hey guys, I'd like to introduce my newly formed band, Closer To Ideal! We draw inspiration from bands like D'espairsRay, girugamesh, lynch and ALSDEAD, but also several Metalcore and Power Metal bands. The other two band members of CTI are quite experienced, however, for me, this is my first proper band experience. You can listen to our first song on YT and SoundCloud: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69deLRYMYds https://soundcloud.com/quartervoid/closer-to-ideal-pulse Any feedback is appreciated Oh and if you like our stuff, check out our FB: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Closer-To-Ideal/684617381671324?fref=ts
  16. Not the range I normally sing in, but it was really fun to do this
  17. Kaleidoscope

You have a nice voice and some raw talent, pretty notable despite the audio quality 8D Looking forward to hear more!
  18. Kaleidoscope

Woah, really good stuff, thanks for the recommendation, gonna get their most recent albums!
  19. Hey guys, it's been a while! Since my old thread for my singing is really old, I decided to make this new one and share some of my more recent stuff with you. I also made a new channel for Vocaloid and Anime covers, which somehow turned out to be more popular than my old channel Some examples: Hope you enjoy!

I have been absent for a long long time and decided to get back into the Japanese music scene a bit, maybe some people still remember me My favourites used to be (and still are to an extent) D'espairsRay, 9GOATS BLACK OUT, girugamesh, Plastic Tree, the studs, envy, Mono, mutyumu and many more, even though I tend to prefer the either more modern or melancholic sounding bands. Also still interested in experimental stuff and Post-Rock, so anything new I should definitely check out?
  21. Thanks a lot for watching and giving some feedback man! I use a T.Bone SCT-800; as far as I know it's a German model since you can find it in Thomann's online shop. It's decent I'd say, although I have some problems with balancing the volume when I'm not using compressor, but that might also be because I don't know much about technical stuff
  22. Kaleidoscope

Love this one a lot more than Kyuutai and Karma, I'd actually even say that this was one of the best albums of 2012. Overall a great mix of old and new styles without sounding forced, plus the title track is absolutetly gorgeous. I'd give it a 8,5/10 I guess.
  23. Well, I have been inactive on MH for ages, but I guess it's time to get back here I guess I have recorded quite a lot of covers recently, so here are some of my recent ones, feedback would be awesome Gackt - Hakuro & Mizerable 0eqPLG5kHkY jtNqisK3tkQ D'espairsRay - Squall (redone version) g4liQDMQNvM I also do lots of English covers, but I guess those are not as popular here ;D Adele - Skyfall -OhNQa0CF2k Kamelot - Once Upon A Time obbyjuBN9rA
  24. Long time no see guys! Since I recorded another Japanese cover, I thought it should share it with you once again Gackt has been a strong influence on my singing, so this actually the first time I really attempt to cover one of his songs since I didn't want to mess it up too much xp9yq6CNYxo I also did a Sweeney Todd cover not too long ago; in case some of you are interested: An_mbao7jWU
  25. Kaleidoscope

Really looking forward to this! Since I actually liked the symphonic version of Amon, another one of those would be awesome in my opinion. Regarding Kyo's throat-surgery: I'm pretty sure that he uses his false chords for his growling, so normally there shouldn't be that much of a problem as long as the surgery isn't directly related to that. Don't know about his shrieking stuff though
