Still love the 8-eit cover, this style of singing is just amazing! If I do something like that my voice is gone for the rest of the week The Pride of Mind one is pretty cool too
-
Damn, I imagined you a lot more grim, Disposable Looking good though Anyway, I haven't posted a pic of me in ages, so here we go. I just remember that last I did people told me I look like Ito

Thank you very much both of you, I'm glad you liked it @nostalgia.: I removed his voice with Adobe Audition and indeed it did a pretty good job, there are hardly any remains of HIZUMI's voice And you're right, I definitely have to work on my accent, I'll take some Japanese classes this year so I hope that will help!

Well, not many people are writing here, but since I've got a new cover I will post it anyway Some of you might remember my Trickster cover I used for the karaoke contest - I wasn't entirely satisfied with it so I decided to rerecord it with my new microphone. I would be very glad if some of you could give me their opinions X41LQBPOKYk&feature=g-all-lik&context=G27deaaaFAAAAAAAAAAA

Well, kind of boring compared to his solo masterpieces Anyway, he's actually not that bad of a vocalist, there are much worse singers in VK ;D

Since I've got a new microphone I recorded a new cover, this time with video - sorry for my bad stageacting, I have no experience in that area, I'll try to improve it though atEXNAcjjFQ&feature=g-all-lik&context=G27a44ffFAAAAAAAARAA I'm not sure if you can watch it since the GEMA banned it in some countries, but I guess it's only in Germany. Anyway, for those who can't watch it: http://vimeo.com/34499780 Feedback would be appreciated very much! Also, I uploaded the Ascendead Master cover which I used for the Karaoke Contest with a better instrumental for those who haven't heard it yet: nFxDCtwPIEs&feature=g-upl&context=G214e7e2AUAAAAAAABAA

I hoped for an album or at least a mini too, but I guess it will be great anyway. The title is German for "map" or "card" by the way oo

Ah, SPEED-id is definitely the lowest voice I have ever heard in japanese music, awesome Heath is also rather deep, while Ai and Otogi from Awoi aren't really low, but they have a very dark timbre. I agree with sai by the way, I think Asagi's natural voice is indeed pretty deep, but since he has got a lot of range he seems to feel quite comfortable with the high notes.

Interesting topic There are indeed very few singers with a low voice in J-Rock, and the one your mentioned are still rather high in comparison to a real bass. I'd say Ruki is one of the deeper voices in VK, you can for example hear it in Guren. You're definitely right with the gossip singer, didn't know he's nearly constantly using low notes oo Kyotarou isn't really low though, maybe he can go deeper than your average VK vocalist but still I wouldn't count him as a low voice. I would also add Atsushi Sakurai as a baritone who can go quite low, although he seems to feel more comfortable with the high notes. If more vocalists come to my mind I'll add them here

Wow, that's what I call a talented composer. I'm really impressed by all of your stuff, so you had a classical education? I especially like Noise cancelling, the shock effect when the real noise comes in is really great WhoNeedsAmplifiers, The Fall Of Reason (I'm a sucker for everything with piano ;D), clipp and Casual Paranoia are pretty cool too, do you have any solo albums yet? And do you play all the instruments yourself? Didn't listen to all of your stuff yet though, but what I heard so far seemed without any exception very well composed although there are of course some genres I like lesser than others.

If you've heard MONSTERS you should definitely know that his voice was anything but okay. Plus on the gig in Bochum he even had to leave the stage towards the end before the encore, quite likely to get some cortisone or something similar and still his voice broke at some points of the show so I suppose they weren't lying about the reasons for their disbandment.
-
Wow, nice to see you back I'm not really up to date with japanese stuff either though, so I can't recommend much else than A and Ichigeki, which might meet your taste.

If that's true your combination skills are unmatchable :D

Here I am D:

Pretty much this, I think especially Gokusai works very well, most people not familiar to Japanese music liked it when I played some songs to them.

Thank you very much, I'm glad someone's posting here Well, I started kind of late with singing, but it's really motivating if you say I'm good for the amount I've sung, I'm sure practicing a lot! I will certainly try to get much better, I'm not even half there where I want to be ;D Next cover will probably be a song by Rammstein and Guren by Gazette, maybe in between some D'espa and Versailles stuff since Hizumi and Kamijo have a style of singing which fits mine.

Thanks for your feedback guys, glad you like some of my covers @Jenovalism: I will pay special attention to the "t" in the future - I guess it's partly because I'm German and we pronounce consonants kind of harsh. Well, I already got some more done. Not really flawless since I recorded them rather spontaneously, but I think the one by Versailles fits my voice somehow. Hey there, thank you very much for your feedback I'm glad you like my voice, that's a thing I always love to hear since many people say I have a weird voice. And yeah, I was pretty much at the very bottom of my range in the Sirenia song Definitely agree that my screaming needs practice, imo they sound kind of... hollow. I'm only satisfied with the long scream after the bridge, but the rest could use some more power. Yeah, I'd love to be in a band, but I just can't find one which fits my expectations. I tried one which covered mainstream rock songs (RHCP, The White Stripes etc.) but I'd prefer to do own songs and after that one I was in a punk rock band for a very short time, but I guess you can tell that my voice doesn't fit that kind of music at all Well, I actually already did a new cover! It's Saishuu Ressha by MUCC in an acoustic version together with a friend of mine who plays the mandolin (he's normally a guitarist) we recorded in one take. Since it's really hard to get a perfect take, we just took one we thought to be decent, so there are a few slightly wrong notes and some stumbling regarding the lyrics. Anyway, hope you like our interpretation of this song! I apologize for my boring stageacting by the way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhJeAsFJ ... ideo_title

@Jenovalism: I have my training once every week and me mostly do stuff to build up my voice, like making weird noises and singing the scale in different ways. Apart from that I have to sing some classical and pop music - at least with my recent vocal coach, with the one before I could choose my songs freely. We even did some Versailles and Gackt I wouldn't recommend all those online singing tutorials though - I started with that too and compared to a real singing teacher it just doesn't really work because those people can't recognize your problems and therefore can't really help you to understand what you have to do. And I definitely understand what you mean with the stuff you said about the sink cover - if you have a song you really want to do perfectly you are never completely satisfied with the end result and always find new flaws if you keep looking. I made that experience too (namely with Versailles' Serenade and 9GOATS' Heaven) ;D But well, you also find flaws because you keep getting better over the time, so just do it without thinking too much about people's opinion on the result - after all you can still rerecord the song later By the way, what did you think of my sink cover? It took me quite a while too, looking forward to hear your version Ah, and I agree with Yasuhiro, your voice really has an Oldschool-VK touch. Would love to hear something from that direction from you!

You're welcome Well, to me you sound like a bass or maybe a baritone so don't worry, it's only natural that the high notes are hard to sing. I'm a bass-baritone myself and it took me ages to reach the higher registers, but it is definitely possible - I'm sure you can get much higher than in your covers with your full voice, it's just a matter of technique. Maybe it's something with your breathing technique since that's essential to sing high and powerful notes. Imo it's definitely not too late for you to start with singing if that is what you really love to do, I started with 18 so you are not the only one And as I said, you have a good voice so you should keep on going! I'd recommend a singing teacher though - I personally think there's a point it gets hard to improve your skills by yourself and that's actually pretty frustrating. Most vocal coaches can show you things you would never notice by yourself, so it's really a good thing to take some lessons and learn the basics. I don't think it's a bad thing to have a VK-like style by the way, it's just important to gain some control over your voice (which many VK singers don't have ) and make it sound good. A good example is Ryo of 9GOATS which you seem to like too I've been singing for a bit less than two years, I think I started somewhere in October 2009. I take singing lessons but in the beginning I sounded pretty crappy, that's only normal I guess And even today I'm often not happy with my singing oo I prefer to sing in Japanese too by the way (sounds weaboo, doesn't it? 8D), mostly because there are lots of vowels in that language which makes it easier to sing with vibrato About your other covers: I don't think you have to be ashamed of them, there are some nice parts in those songs too. Especially the 9GOATS one sounds sometimes good (are you comfortable singing their songs? I love to sing their stuff, it's nearly always within my range) and the Merry is alright too, only the end sounds a bit messed up Ah, and I think you have to work on your headvoice, sounds a bit insecure to me.
-
Just listened to your vocal covers and since I think the musician's corner and especially vocal covers don't get enough attention on the board I decided to give you some feedback ;D First of all: I prefer the jeniva cover - the deadman cover isn't bad or anything, but it sometimes sounds like you don't have enough control over your voice. There's some of that in the other cover to (especially in the chorus), but you can definitely hear an improvement in the verses and apart from that I think you have a really nice voice and that's the most important thing imo. You can improve your technique but you can never change the tone of your voice Ah, and another note: You sound very "VK", do you try to sound like that in purpose or is it just your style of singing? And may I ask for how long you have been singing? So yeah, looking forward to more

Hey there, it's been a while since I posted my covers here but after a long absence I decided to use my youtube account again and share some of my stuff with you I just finished sink by 9GOATS BLACK OUT today, the falsetto part was really hard. Another more recent one is this one, everything before this is pretty old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryWbY4nsrRM Comments and criticism are very much appreciated, so if you think I suck, please tell me. Although I'd prefer if you tell me why and how can I approve
