Didn't notice it until now, you're right, probably even one of their best looks
  2. Kaleidoscope

Wow, didn't really expect this. Such a shame, for me they were pretty much the best band left in the scene. I hope the last album will keep the level of their other stuff at least.
  3. Thank you very much both of you, I'm glad you liked it! I'm not too fond of my screams, so I'm really happy someone likes them
  4. Haven't posted something here in a while, but since I finished a rather special project, I thought I should share it with you. This is a full band cover of Zombie by Versailles featuring me on the vocals, including a nice little music video. Feedback would be really much appreciated! QEkxdbWIZEY I also uploaded some other vocal covers, if you want to share your opinion on those to, don't hesitate to do so XkAS2cUmDNQ uicDqXGp9U0

The concert in Cologne was awesome indeed! Asagi is definitely one of the best vocalists in VK and I was really surprised how good Tsunehito is oo I wish they would have picked Ouka Saki Some No Keri instead of Day by Day for the encore since the latter one was rather boring :/ And it was great to meet you sai I didn't know it was you who asked the question about the suitcase xD I wanted to ask something considering the title of "Der König der Dunkelheit", so I too was totally annoyed when that fangirl at the end wasted the last question.

I already noticed it during the karaoke contest, your voice really fits Neo VK stuff. Overall I think you did a good job, only thing which bugs me a bit is that sometimes the higher notes lack some power, you should try some belting there to make them sound a bit chestier^^ And as for the screams: Since you wrote that you have just started learning to do them I'd say they are okay for that, but if you plan to improve them I'd suggest that you try the fry scream technique. I use it myself in my covers (I'm not too great at it though xD) and it doesn't harm your vocal chords and can sound pretty cool if you're good at it. I think you can find plenty tutorials on YT for that^^ Apart from that, it's a decent cover and I hope to hear more from you soon

Well, I never said that it only looks ridiculous with western people either I just meant that the way he pulls off the whole thing seems forced, and that isn't an issue only with foreign VK bands. Anyway, I agree with the rest of your post, I think it's great that he manages to get into a scene hardly open to western people, even if his style doesn't seem natural enough to me yet.

So if a Swedish person sings in Japanese, then they're a weeaboo, but if they sing in English then it's totally normal? Where's the logic in that? Where did I say he shouldn't sing in Japanese? I have no problem with that at all, it's rather the whole image he's trying to pull off - it seems rather ridiculous to me, but it's a matter of taste I guess. I just think the whole kawaii-thing seems a bit forced.

Well, the song really is extremely generic and faceless, so decent is probably the wrong word for it. The song is extremely forgettable and the songwriting just fitting together random verses and choruses and throw in some random growls so that I personally wouldn't buy nor download his album, but it doesn't hurt listening to it like some other recent VK stuff does. So yeah, I just think it's pretty cool that he pursues his career in the way he wants to (since it's not easy to be successfull with VK as a European in Japan) despite the fact that he's a weaboo to the core. More individuality wouldn't hurt though, I thought he would go into a different musical direction than simple pop rock.

The video itself was indeed awkward, the song was decent. Technically he is definitely not a bad singer and I don't think he has a bad voice either (actually a lot better than the vocalist of Seremedy), but I just don't feel any power in his vocals tbh. Anyway, I think it's a solid first attempt and he has my respect for getting that far.
  11. Okay, time for some new covers My most recent one is Hunter's Season by Kamelot - in some parts I messed up the breathing and lost some of my stamina, but overall I'm satisfied with this I guess. LzW7o_U6KgI&feature=g-all-f&context=G21c27fcFAAAAAAAAAAA Another one I did is collaboration with a multi-instrumentalist and a female vocalist, Stirb nicht vor mir by Rammstein. Not really my favourite cover, but it was still fun to sing in German khxJbNllV00

Wow, this is a great idea. My Japanese doesn't go beyond being able to read Hiragana and Katakana so I'm always glad to see some good translations And I really love your interpretation of Kohaku, good job! I would like to some translations of Daisuke's (Kagerou and so on) lyrics since from the translations of his work in the studs he may very well be my favourite Japanese lyricist.

Haven't ordered the tickets yet, but I'm going to Cologne too.

I use Adobe Audition and sometimes Fruity Loops, just like Pandabear said, for electronic music it's really good So does anyone know if Cubase is more recommendable than Audition? I mainly record vocals, sometimes some keyboards and rarely guitar. I'm pretty satisfied with Audition at the moment, but sometimes I wish for some more cool effects
  16. Kaleidoscope

"Like It's Your Last" from their debut is one of the best songs ever, I love this band. And the singer's screams are insane!
  17. Okay, now I get what you mean. Sounds like a good idea since it sounded rather weird when I panned the backings only left in one of my earlier covers Thanks for your advice once again
  18. First of all: Thanks for the compliment! I didn't use any pitch correction of course, I don't even know how to do that actually xD And thanks so much for the tips, it's very much appreciated since I don't know much about producing The purpose is primary of course to show my vocal skills, but with the last few covers I also tried to get a good sound. You're right with the song being a bit too low volume-wise - the problem is that there is no instrumental for the song so I had had to remove the vocals with Audition, but unfortunately some traces remained so I decided to turn my own vocals much louder so that the Kamijo isn't notable anymore. Nevertheless, I will try to improve that point in my next covers Regarding the second vocal line, thanks for the tip, definitely going to try that next time! I didn't want to do them at all first but in the end I recorded them because I didn't want any original vocals left. I'm not quite sure what you mean with overdubbing though, could you explain that again? xD Yeah, I added a lot of reverb this time I'm often not sure what kind of effect would fit the song, but just like you said, since the song is pretty cheesy and over-dramatic I decided to go for some heavy reverb ;D Definitely going to try the delay first next time, thank you very much for all of your advice Haha, I know, I originally got it because it offers quite a lot for the medium price but somehow I came to love the design by now
  19. Alright, I covered some Versailles once again since someone on Youtube requested Serenade a while ago. I tried to work a bit on my performing but it still looks kind of weird Would be great if you could give me some feedback again! RJYN9mx5gxs&feature=channel_video_title
  20. Thank you for checking my other covers out, I'm glay you liked some Hehe, I somehow still like the 9GOATS one too very much, that song was really fun to sing. Might do "any" by them sometime^^
  21. @madygrain: Thanks man, I really appreciate your compliments And you're right, I can't compare with her of course, I'd definitely say her voice is exceptional and very powerful - plus I started a bit too late with singing, I have only started with 18 unfortunately (I'm 20 now) Anyway, thanks again and I'm looking forward to some feedback on the older covers! @Mister Svperstar: Thanks for your honest criticism, don't worry, I'm not angry at negative comments. It's definitely not my usual singing style, I guess it sounds strange to some people mainly because of that - I got pop/rock singing lessons for less than half a year and then began to take lessons in classical singing, I still mainly sing rock/metal songs though. The higher notes in this song are not a problem at all though (plus I changed the key to adjust the song to my voice), I can go much higher than that without any problems Sounds probably a bit strained because of the "DEEP" bit sai mentioned, which I messed up a bit Plus I was sick when I recorded a cover, but I don't usually write that down when I post a song since it sounds like a lame excuse^^ Yeah, I'd love to do a bit more special covers of some songs, but unfortunately I don't really have the means for it, I only play the keyboard (rather mediocre). Could try a capella though. As for the warm-ups: Yeah, since I took singing lessons I'm of course familiar with that, I warm up every time before I start to sing. I will look in some of these anyway since it's always nice to add some new warm-ups to my usual practice, so thanks Would be great if you could check out my cover of Trickster by D'espairsRay by the way since that's the one which I personally like best!
  22. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it Don't worry, I always take critique seriously - it's not only about technique after all! Plus you're right with the "deep", I stayed in full voice there while Adele uses her head voice, sounds kind of awkward in my case since it's hard to sing such narrow vowels when it comes to the higher notes Regarding the pronunciation: I'm studying English at university and I'm being trained in British accent, but I don't really concentrate on that when I sing so it may as well be possible that it doesn't work there xD Anyway, thanks again for your feedback, it's always great when someone gives a detailed opinion.
  23. Great, looking forward to your feedback Yeah, it was indeed not easy to sing, even more so because my singing style differs very much from hers.
  24. I'm kind of active with vocal covers lately, so I already finished a new one I tried something entirely new for me, would be great if some if you could give me their opinion again! hDmuKmofW7U&feature=g-all-lik&context=G27deaaaFAAAAAAAAAAA I have no idea where the black frame around the video comes from by the way, it looks normal on my laptop.
  25. Kaleidoscope

Thanks Usually I wear glasses so I look even more like you then I guess
