lmao, this has to be the most unfortunate/ridiculous thing I've heard in a long while. XD What makes it all the more baffling is that underneath all those terrible production, mixing and vocal effect choices, it's a tune I would otherwise dig. Has a kind of nostalgic feel. I even like the vocalist's tone too, dunno why they chose to shoot it to hell with that terrible effect, lol.

My resolution will be the same as last year: . . . 1920 x 1080

Watched a bunch of stuff recently. A Nightmare on Elm Street: Believe it or not, I've only ever seen the 3rd movie of the franchise, so I thought it was high time to see the rest too. xD This was pretty cool, well done special effects and nice atmosphere. Good wholesome fun. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: This seemed a bit more cheesy than the first movie, but was still okay. Some of the acting is a little cringey but entertaining nonetheless. I've lost interest towards the end, but again, nice special effects and mood. The Autopsy of Jane Doe: Solid stuff that managed to keep things interesting for a long time. I feel like they could've done more with the last 20-30 mins, but overall this was a pretty killer ride. Very cool atmosphere and pacing, and some nice creepy stuff. Bite: It surprises me how many "woman gets infected somehow and now her body is doing weird stuff" themed movies there are currently, not that I'm complaining. It's just that this one wasn't particularly good. It had its moments, but I got completely bored by the second half, so I was just randomly fast-forwarding. Meh. Tank 432: This started off in a pretty cool and mysterious way and managed to maintain that vibe through most of the movie, but I was kinda let down gradually as it came to a close. Kinda underwhelming but not bad I guess. Emelie: Can't say much about this one. It was good. Recommended.
  4. I'm really curious to find out what were some of the best goth / post-punk / etc. releases in 2016 according to you guys? I feel like I haven't been able to check out enough, or just haven't had the time to look deep enough. As for me, these are the only ones that spring to mind right now: Ash Code - Posthuman (sample) Belgrado - Obraz (sample) Gustave Tiger - Chaste and Mystic Tribadry (sample) Padkarosda - Tétova Lelkek (sample) ...and of course I'm still in the process of checking some stuff out that I've missed last year (The Bellicose Minds, Terminal Gods, The Mission, etc).

I usually prefer shorter, to-the-point albums without any excess fat. So around 25-45 mins approx. But yeah, it depends on the genre and the particular band.
  6. BUCK-TICK has just announced a special project of sorts for their debut 30th anniversary coming in September 2017. Here is what is for certain so far: - they will release an Anniversary Best Album - they will hold an Anniversary Special Live in September - they will hold their annual THE DAY IN QUESTION gig on 2017/12/23, and then a special two-day one on 12/28-29 - this will also be preceded by a domestic tour from October (if I'm understanding it correctly) - aaand they will release their new album in spring 2018 Can't waittttt~

I'm very under-educated in terms of Xmas horror, but incidentally I have Krampus and Rare Exports lined up for watching tonight. À l'intérieur is pretty cool btw!
  8. Well, at least they'll release an album before calling it quits. I have fond memories of them from a few years back, so hopefully the new material will live up to that quality as well.
  9. Last trailer reminded me of American Horror Story somehow, lol. Dunno how this'll all be, but I'm kinda curious to find out~
  10. A solid farewell from girugamesh. Not one of my favorite releases by any means but it was probably the best one they had in them by the end. Worthy last release.
  11. Yep, they definitely did announce a new album, almost exactly a year ago! Back then they said it would be released "sometime in 2016" but I guess we'll have to wait some more... there's no official release date or title yet, unfortunately.

I dunno much about what objectively good hip-hop is, but Run The Jewels have just surprise-dropped their new album RTJ3 for free, so yayyyyy (on track 3 right now, so far they're as good as ever)
  13. So apparently LUNA SEA released a special Christmas single/song titled "HOLY KNIGHT" exclusive to their Saitama Super Arena shows that were held on December 23 and 24. Thought I'd at least make a thread for it, if anyone's interested. Here's a trailer: It sounds like a typical sappy X-mas mess, but if you like LS there's a chance you might enjoy it somewhat I guess (??).

  15. I seriously had to double-check whether I listened to the new downy album (I didn't even remember it came out this year!) before commenting "it was pretty nice." ...which kinda shows my stance on them I guess: I like their releases when I'm listening to them, and then I completely forget about them afterwards. Still, cool stuff I suppose, tho not AOTY material for me.
  16. Nice one! When it came out it was easily on par with their previous album (which is, imo, one of the very best of their late era). As the months passed, I found myself less and less interested in it tho. That might change again, gonna give it a fresh spin during the holidays for sure.
  17. Excellent album! It will surely have a place on my (very short) end-of-the-year list as well.

This is giving me early '90s British alternative realness. I'm digging it.

I only seriously got into music around the time I was 13-14, but yeah, I'm having nostalgia overloads time and time again. A few weeks back I was on a massive Marilyn Manson / Static-X / Mudvayne binge, haha.
  21. I don't know the person who made this but I now love them deeply.

Spectral - Okay, I only wanted to see this cuz it was shot in Budapest (and as it later turned out, like 80% of the staff were Hungarian lol), but it actually turned out to be kinda decent. Netflix-made sci-fi/thriller movie with some neat visual imagery and effects. If you enjoy looking at futuristic equipment and stuff then this will be sci-fi military porn heaven for you, haha. Not the best or worst movie out there, but it's okay for watching once and kinda zoning out on.
