Storage Wars ~Kiwamu edition~

^ Damn, you are an encyclopedia of underground metal... and better yet, all of these sound great! When will I have the time to listen to everything, haha... Will try to check them in due time. Already have Vampire's and Diskord's stuff lined up for the weekend.

I think I vaguely remember someone mentioning this movie here before, but just for the sake of it there's a new trailer out and IT LOOKS AMAZING.

Okay, you convinced me, this is awesome. Gonna check their stuff later today. For now, I've just begun listening to a band called Diskord. They play an interesting, slightly techy/avant-garde style death metal. Great so far.

It's a bit different. They still have the "crazy tunes" but now the melodic poppy songs are heavily influenced by '80s pop/new wave. Personally I really dig it (even tho I think their last mini album was lackluster and empty as hell, lol). In any case, the albums numbered 10-12 are worth checking out imo. Be prepared for a more polished sound ofc.

^ Hell yeah, this sounds awesome! I remember seeing the band live about a year ago, they were not bad but didn't wow me then. I might seek out their releases based on this tho, thanks for the heads-up.

Just found this cool one-man project Lock Howl recently. Excellent goth/deathrock with some surprising black metal influenced bits tossed in here and there. https://lockhowl.bandcamp.com/album/pareidolia-2 Recommended for fans of old Beastmilk and/or murky dark (post)punk for example.

cali≠gari will release their new album titled "13" on 2017/05/10 in 2 versions: limited "Kyoushin-ban" CD+Blu-ray edition (￥6,000+tax) and regular "Ryoushin-ban" CD-only edition (￥3,000+tax). The limited bonus Blu-ray will feature scenes from the album's recording and various offshot footage. Also, the "Kyoushin-ban" cover art will be done by mangaka Maya Mineo (apparently known for classic shoujo and BL style manga). They will also hold their Japan tour "cali≠gari △15th Caliversary”2002-2017″ TOUR 13 -Hell is other people-" from June 3 to July 22.

Sounded pretty cool until the vocals kicked in. Anyway, great to see him branching out into so many styles, he is absolutely amazing!

Nice, I'm always down for these two as well! Tho I'm a bit more spotty on Kreator's discography (esp their "middle era"). How did you like the new album? Personally I found it to be a mixed bag. Sometimes really really awesome and powerful, but then other times falling into utter cheesiness. I gotta say I really loved their previous two full-lengths with this more melodic "epic" style, but now the formula is getting a bit tiresome for me. But it's one of those albums that I can put on anytime, it doesn't explicitly bother me or anything. They're still a solid band. Also, I've grown to love the latest AaL album too. Initially I didn't think much of it, but then it kinda hit me. Great stuff.

Sounds like typical sukekiyo so far, I'm ready! I hope that new album is around the corner not long after this as well.

Okay, this might be the first Gackt song I've enjoyed in the past 8 years, nice. Sounds good so far.

Can't say I've enjoyed their music in recent years (their 2011-2013 stuff is still pretty cool tho), but sad to see them go.

Sounds okay. I'm hoping we'll get something more substantial (like an album) from him this year later too.

Ritualistic Human Sacrifice by C. V. Hunt: Managed to breeze through this one in a day, it was so entertaining. An ominous horror story with a darkly erotic (and at times nauseating) vibe, presented in a straight-forward nicely paced style. Fun fun fun. Will probably look up more of the author's work later... Kedi mektupları (Letters of Cats) by Oya Baydar: Just started on this one. Actually a friend lent this to me and it's something I probably wouldn't seek out on my own cuz the protagonists are cats, and as much as I love cats in real life, I haven't read a good novel with animal characters in my adult life, so yeah. We'll see.
