This is now my favorite description ever. XDDD Also, painfully accurate, haha.

Hmmm they sound kinda like modern djenty metal, I mean as much as a vk band can sound like one (F.E.D. even more so). I don't remember heavy bass stuff, tho I'm not very familiar with all of their output either. Here are some random samples, hope they sound like the stuff you're searching for:

Chuck Palahniuk: Beautiful You - Thought I'd give this one a 2nd read, mainly because I managed to finally get the Hungarian translation at a discount price (and I'm an obsessive Palahniuk collector), lol. I'm still not quite sure whether it was genius or borderline-cringey crap. It sure as hell was entertaining in a campy trashy way, that's for sure. If you throw any sense/expectation of reality out the window and just want something totally dumb and crazy (keeping in mind he prolly wrote this the way he did on purpose, i.e. kinda like an over-the-top parody), this one's gonna satisfy you. So don't look for any ~deep~ or enlightening content here. He's written much much better in the past tho.

That was an interesting quote, haha. Never actually heard a Nagoya kei (let alone angura kei) band with so-called 'extreme metal' stylings. In any case, if I just expand the whole thing to the whole of vk, I can only think of FAR EAST DIZAIN and maybe My BACTERIA HEAT IsLAND (maybe that new hurr-durr-deathcore vk band too? can't remember their name atm, they have a mini album called "PURGE"). But you prolly already know those. :<

Good news. These guys continue to be awesome at what they do.

I didn't enjoy this single as much as I expected to. Granted, it wasn't bad either. Kinda in the middle somewhere but still pleasant enough to listen to. 6.5/10
-
Cool review, man. Also I've yet to listen to the single, but already selected the first option in the voting thingie above. The mini album is as close to perfection as they'll ever get imo. edit: Just finishing up the single (cool stuff), my observation still stands.

This thread... I am home. <3 My humble additions to the nostalgia train: Also, props for mentioning GREGORY and Kalimero, hell yeah! Also, lmao @ that Aliene track casually ripping off both "sic" and "Eyeless" by Slipknot. :'DDD At the time I somehow didn't notice at all, even tho I was heavily into Slipknot.

^ Thanks for the tons of recommendations, man! Always too much good music, too little time. Out of the bands mentioned I know Exumer, they're pretty cool as far as I remember, and I might have also listened to an album by Protector this year (their latest one) but can't recall much of that. Lately I'm on a huge Bolt Thrower kick. They're one of those bands who I haven't ever listened to, only just read good stuff about, so it was high time! Lovin' what I'm hearing so far, they really don't seem to have any mediocre or bad albums (tho I'm not finished with the whole discography yet ofc xD). Such simplicity but such power as well. Great stuff. I began with their last album and was really surprised how awesome it was. Now I'm working my way up in chronological order. The IVth Crusade is blasting loud and I'm about to open a few beers - good times.

Damnnnn, why live-only? ;w; Also, DOGUU ALBUM pls.

I'm locked in thrash-mania these days it seems. Been spinning nothing but Kreator, Destruction and some Sodom. I'm not too familar with the latter band, but their new album is just amazing killer stuff! A lot more interesting than Destruction's latest one (which btw is also not too bad, just nothing special). Gonna dive deep into Sodom's back catalogue soon. Also, I've realized yet again that this album still rips like hell: (what a brutal year with this and Slayer's Reign in Blood as well!)

Upon listening to all the available previews I have concluded that I am indeed looking forward to this release now. Sweet.

It's gonna be ten years already, huh. Crazy. I remember being so surprised/overjoyed when they announced they would be reuniting, and then the first post-reunion album just blew me away with how good it was. They've been able to carry the torch ever since then, more or less (in terms of release quality). Hoping for at least another ten years of cool tunes! And of course looking forward to that new album.
-
You've made the right choice, awesome finds! IMO their 2nd album (pictured to the left) is even better than the self-titled one.

Haha, interesting to look at 3-years-ago-me's list. It changed to the following for now: BUCK-TICK cali≠gari DEZERT emmurée Grieva Kuroyuri to kage LUNA SEA MERRY MUNIMUNI sukekiyo

For most of their career they've been releasing 4-song maxi singles, so it's not that much of a shock imo. That said, I can't say I'm too excited for this, seeing their output over the past year.
-
Glad to see the renewed interest! Yup, the album is pretty awesome as well. Actually I'm kinda baffled how they could totally replicate even that old-school production, not just the delivery. Even more amazing if we count how it's almost been 30 years since they last released something. Props to them!

New Lazerpunk album out on December 4!

The band has just released a new PV from their album. It is awesome as expected.

A gig/party series called KVLTNIGHT has started up here in Hungary this year, so my attention towards witch house has been recently reignited after like 5 years. I'm not an avid listener of the genre but when the mood strikes me it's real good. Here's some stuff from the best of the super-small (and super-young) Hungarian scene: (also check this insane Korn remix/reworking by German dude Peaki!!)
