@secret_no_03 They haven't specified anything as far as I could see, just that they will release one track each week, for a period of 7 weeks. So either the album contains 7 track in total, or there might be some other songs remaining if they will ever release this in physical format (which they haven't talked about yet). My hunch is that it'll just be 7 tracks tho (they've been releasing "smaller-size" albums in the past years to begin with), and probably they originally wanted to release them on CD but due to the virus the CD pressing situation is more complicated/delayed for everyone so this is just an alternative way to get the album out there (plus I kinda enjoy waiting for something new every week, heh ). Plus, the price is pretty decent too if you think about it.

Finished Dorohedoro a while back, it was really fun and exciting. Loved the whole crazy-ass vibe and the creative art style most of all. Just started The Promised Neverland and it's reaaaally tense, I love it! I'm only 3 episodes in, but I predict I'll watch all of it by tomorrow night, lol. Recommended for thriller/horror fans for sure.

Track 3 titled ネオマンティス (Neo Mantis) is now OUT~ Another catchy number!

@carddass Whoah, that translation actually looks pretty legit (I mean it reads like it could have been done by a person, haha). Thanks for the link!

In other #very #important #news, Imai has dyed his hair and he's excited about making the album and going on tour eventually.

Lots of great insights in this thread, I don't even think I have anything new to add... I would like to echo this so much though, my own experience is/was very much the same: I was one of those guys who dove head-first into vk once I discovered it, and would pretty much listen to it non-stop for years (leaving only veeeery little room for other stuff), and then I kinda burned out on it, but found my way back after a year or so with a cleared mind and more of a musical equilibrium. Although even when I wasn't listening to it I'd still keep visiting MH, lol. Now that I found this balance it's all good, I can enjoy whatever when the mood strikes. I think this "vk or nothing" mentality that's sparked by the discovery of something foreign and exciting might be one of the major factors that later lead people to "fill up" on vk to the point of wanting to move on to other things eventually (ofc there are those special die-hards who never leave thankfully).

I haven't seen anything about this here and it all seems to be pretty under-the-radar, but I thought I'd mention for those curious. Sivy has formed his new band サラ (SARAH) sometime in mid-2019, with their first (?) live on 2019/10/21 at Meguro LIVE STATION. Since then they only made a small handful of live appearances, the latest being today's CHOP livestream (coincidentally Sivy's birthday). It looks like so far they are mostly playing songs by DISH/dishes are scheming, but they already recorded their own track メルトメルナ (MELT MELUNA?) which they sold as a demo-CD at their live on 2020/03/25 at Ikebukuro CHOP. The lineup is similar to that of a big DISH session event from last summer (I assume that's when the idea for this new project sparked): - vocals & guitar: シビィ (Sivy) (dishes are scheming, ANGRAYSE) - guitar: 太三 (Taizo) (CYTOCHROME) - bass: マスハラカツヒコ (Masuhara Katsuhiko) (koldcake, Musu Bore) - drums: TELL (ex-AUTO-MOD, ex-MUNIMUNI, ex-emmurée, Musu Bore etc.)

Sivy (dishes are scheming) is doing some sort of birthday session live currently at CHOP:

The Vast of Night - It's truly amazing how much you can achieve with only a good script and a (I assume) limited budget. This is a recent sci-fi movie set in 1950s USA, with the most exciting and tense moments happening while people are just talking over the phone, the radio or just to each other. No over-the-top flashy effects or mindless grand-scale action scenes (those have their place too, of course, just in a different type of movie). Even though the setup might sound boring to some at first glance, it was a truly entertaining and thrilling experience. The main characters were really neat too. I recommend it if you're looking for contemporary sci-fi that's not 'sci-fi action' (like most of today's usual hyped-up 'science fiction' flicks).

For the international peeps who prefer to buy & download files instead of streaming, the mini is now available on OTOTOY: https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/557644

I'm wondering how long the two-man gigs with deadman are gonna be delayed... considering the fact that the deadman revival is only supposed to function till autumn, lol (but of course the whole tour had to be postponed twice already). In any case it would be cool if cali-gari would just decide to fuck it and stream for free, even just once, like basically 95% of the other (even much smaller) vk bands. I'd be even fine with a weekly stream of a previously released live DVD like how BUCK-TICK does it recently. re: Ao playing "air guitar" - I'm still kinda weirded out how after the band came back from hiatus the playback shtick is more and more prevalent... Like I can sort of understand having a guitar backing track when the song calls for it (i.e. it has multiple totally different guitar tracks going on at the same time), but even with the more simplistic songs Ao seems to be slacking off these years... Like that very loud backing track in -Tou- that's just the same as what Ao plays live, lol. Oh well...

Nice, the full version finally! I was beginning to wonder whether they've forgotten about the "original" two MVs from when they were promoting the album. I think I vaguely remember them mentioning something on Twitter about the other one too (馬鹿とハサミの使い方) so I guess we can expect that one soon. *prepares for the extreme haircutting*

I totally randomly ended up at Ye Olde Livejournale Community of the band (I see you were quite an active member there @carddass I didn't even realize your name and avatar were familiar - my nick was jani_kun on LJ ) and for my own amusement tried to put some lyrics in Google Translator....... and they shockingly came out pretty great!! Not sure how accurate but at least totally comprehensible. :'))) Here's Fuffuu: bito 4 you: Power (I adjusted this one a bit): (other ones I checked didn't come out as smoothly, lol)

Good comeback I say! Did you miss out on listening to any releases? There's been some good shit these past few years.
-
I agree, especially about the digital sales! for old dinosaurs like me who don't want to get into streaming too much, lol. My interest is also moderately piqued by this band, even though I haven't heard anything mindblowing so far, but at least the visuals look neat.

Yeah, I think I read something about video/audio sync issues, but good to hear they fixed it for the archive. Ao seems to be so hooked on Dr. Pepper lately, I'm wondering if this will be the next album cover:

Thank you for the summary, @anakuro, I love reading stuff like this (especially since I don't understand like 98% of Japanese myself). Somehow I'm not surprised at the Kenjirou and the "Ao freeform guitar solo" remarks, haha.

I love a good overblown chorus, bring it on!

Okay, I take back what I said, this new BMSS album fucks hard. I'm vibing with the synthy goodness so much on track 2 & 3 and the vocoder in that one later epic song. edit: Just listening to the "Circles within Circles" album by Assassination, great stuff! Really catchy too. I tried again with Edelweiss but something about the sound feels kinda weak/meh to me... even tho I kinda wanna like them cuz they sampled some old Hungarian cartoon at the beginning of one of their songs, lol. edit2: These Assassination guys are absolute mad lads, already released a new song a couple days ago from an upcoming new release.
