I've been meaning to do this for a few years, but I finally put Shougo's anison covers to the actual openings. If the video is gone before anyone watches it, it was Toei lol. Also have to include my favorite off the new album

Just put this together myself. I took Shougo's (アンフィル) anison covers and put them to the actual openings. They're all timed correctly but there might be left out sound effects b/c I didn't want to mux the openings w/ niconico's shite audio. Anyway, enjoy!

PS Vita (OLED) [Enso 3.60] | Use it for Vita titles, PSP (Adrenaline), Moonlight (streaming), and retro games in RetroArch PS3 (Slim) [REBUG] | PS3 and PS2 titles PS4 (Slim) | Just PS4 titles PC | Steam games, CEMU, Dolphin, and RetroArch. I typically put custom firmware (denoted by the brackets) on anything I get my hands on. I won't mess w/ the PS4 until end-of-life. There are a smattering of older consoles I've had in the past, but they're halfway across the world god-knows-where. Meant for my younger cousins in PH but considering how old they are they're probably binned or in storage.

The Mad Dogs are still really nice, but the stickers on the side have peeled off so they just look like the MK2s on the outside. I actually bought the last pair Dan sold on the site, so hopefully mine last for a long time. I thought about the Alpha upgrade, but I heard the mod made the cans slightly too sibilant, which I'm a bit sensitive to. The stack is nice, but the Magni 2 doesn't drive enough power to my liking for the MDs which I have it go out to the Panasonic (so it functions as a pre-amp.) How do the MK3s compare to the Mad Dog mod? I heard the MK3s were a marked improvement over the MK2s, but I wasn't sure how they compared to the MDs. Also have to mention that your setup reminds me of Zeos' (Z Reviews), who's influenced most of my audio-related purchases. Nice :D. Oh yea, none of them play nice with USB 3.0. I have a USB 2.0 switcher that my Modi is plugged in to. --- Forgot to mention on the portable end I have LG Tone Platinums (I bought refurb), Jaybird X3s (that need repairing), Tin Audio T2s, and Koss KSC75s (rip etika). Since adapters/dongles are dogshit and bluetooth eats my battery, I have my iPod Classic 6g w/ Rockbox as my backup device once the phone battery gets low. Also my Vita can't do newer gen bluetooth, so I'm forced to go wired anyway.

Suggesting these two series for those who want to go down this rabbit-hole. Part 2 of the latter is on niconicodouga.

This goes into the whole Plastic Love phenomenon (w/ some detours into meme culture), but 6:20~ish on can be extrapolated to a lot of the city pop resurgence. I go a bit more into Future Funk on the vaporwave thread. While vaporwave and ff have moved away from the spotlight, city pop is picking back up again thanks to DJ Van Paugam and the like. I'll also add that 4chan has had city pop discussions since forever on /mu/, /gif/, and /wsg/. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the proto-stuff was influenced from that existing circulation. Though they were initially pretty critical of Ramona Xavier/Vektroid/Macintosh Plus' Floral Shoppe in 2012.

yay, someone finally made this thread 😄 As someone who followed the resurgence early on, it is absolutely the rise in searches for vaporwave/future-funk sources that kicked the YT algorithm into high gear for suggesting city pop music. I had a smattering of city pop in my "repertoire", including Rajie and Kikuchi Momoko, before its 2010's resurgence, but the vaporwave/future funk boom def. grew that tenfold. There's a lot of parallels and inspiration between yacht rock, quiet storm (which I grew up listening to), and city pop, so the genre is something that appeals to me. In fact, Haruomi Hosono (of Apryl Fool, YMO, and other works) second band, Happy End, was pretty much nippon yacht-rock. He could basically have his own thread for how much he's influenced in the jpop world. --- I think Yuki Saito counts (whom I'm a huge fan of.) There's a huge overlap between 70's~80's idol kayo and city pop, but I tend to associate city pop w/ more pronounced beats and disco influence (?) Though city pop is not exactly absent of slow songs and not everything in that time period could really be considered city pop. I guess it's whatever has that "big city" feel, lol.

fun... but I do feel that, in a similar fashion to the newer Stray Kids songs, they tend to get outshone by the production & instrumentals (which themselves would fit well in TomorrowWorld or some other electronic music festival.) it's a good way to retain attention w/ a rookie band tho. *Also, TIL Big Hit has merged w/ Source Music, so GFRIEND is part of Big Hit now... yooooooooo-

This band has everything, but they have to intersperse their songs with weird, oddly timed (are what I assume) key and vocal pitch changes that confuse the hell out of me.
