I won't knock the guy for trying to speak English since they're clearly attempting to get more non-Japanese fans, but the content of the interview is pretty childish. His answer to the hardest song to write is like a kid trying to sound super deep and smart, especially given his self-proclaimed lack of music theory ...

Do they seriously make their support drummer play behind a screen? That's kinda harsh!

I am so confused by this. Seiya, dude, you left DEVILOOF and now you started a new band. It's time to move on. Also, is Hiroto gone now?

They fucking shopped out Hiroto and even covered him up in the preview of their single at the end ...

... I must be taking crazy pills. There's been very little of DADAROMA's output I've disliked. People need to stop clamoring for the sound of THEIR FIRST RELEASE. It's been six years people.

Naoki said in a tweet responding to Cazqui that if DEATHGAZE revives, even for a day, he'll be waiting. While I don't think that's any time in the future, it at least sounds like he's not retiring any time soon.

If you read and liked Parasite, it's a lot like that at first and gets pretty bonkers later on. Check out the spoiler below for a spread of how detailed and crazy the art is.

So I'm jumping into this topic late, but I've been reading a ton of manga lately and need to recommend Jagaaaaaan (yes, that's really the title) to any and everyone who likes seinen action/horror. The art is super unique and while the story starts off kind of generic has really taken a path of its own lately. Seriously, check it out.

I've been thinking about this all day since I read the news on twitter and I think there may be some inner turmoil within the band. Kagami keeps doing side-projects and session lives and such, and even on here people complain that they're the least sounding VK band in the scene. So my guess (and this is all conjecture of course) is that Naoki wants to do something more visual and the rest of the band is still digging the Western metalcore vibe, so Naoki peace-d out. This is also taking into context how quickly he left. On the website, the full comment said something about a difference in the production of the album as well, so maybe he wanted to take his leave before something was released he didn't want to fully endorse. The suddenness is the most shocking bit of this news.

The problem is is that these interviews are catered to an overseas audience, and because of that I don't understand how we're expected to care about a band that no one except the interviewee has heard of and it just looks so biased. I expected more variety out of this but I'm no longer looking forward to these interviews if they're only catering to an audience of one.

    Really uninspired album cover, dang.

Calling it now—EROS will be the arbitrary jazzy song, RUDENESS will be the one minute generic banger.

Now I didn't follow DIMLIM enough to know much about their progression. I listened to their first few releases and wasn't impressed. Then the drama and all the members leaving and I didn't follow, but I listened to this album. I like some of the music, though a lot of it is pretty forgettable. How sudden is this musical shift of theirs to warrant the lyrics to be this petty? I get they're trying to kick the visual scene, but there's a much more mature way of doing so than being a whiny baby about it. Diss tracks are pretty immature (I'm looking at you Nokubura ...) but a diss track to their audience seems even more counter intuitive and immature.

Agree with this. If they keep churning out oboreru sakanas then people will complain they have no variety.

Actually, if you listen to their output since oboreru sakana you'll find plenty of heavy tracks. It's better to give up on dadaroma at once if you're still hoping for that same song after six years. They've shown what direction they'll be following very clearly for a while a now , it's been consistent, so nothing surprising here.

This still blows me away. I get the first two PVs stand out in their discography, but that's because aside from the chorus' the best shit in them is stolen from american bands. Other than that their output is thematically and musically uniform and consistent, imo. DADAism series explored different moods from the first to the most recent, so it's not like the last mini being lighter is them jumping the shark somehow.

Not at all. Everyone makes out like the band only ever makes clown shit and that they've never been heavy or interesting since the first Dadaism. MOST of their output since then has been great. Sure they've had a few duds, but in VK who doesn't?
