Haha I'm definitely not the best ear for good hip hop/rap (I literally know like 3 artists including Curry) but I'm really getting into this release.  Tyler the Creator's Igor has also been on my repeat list. Hahaha back at you!

I've been kinda iffy about trying new hip hop these days, but dude was featured on the new Flying Lotus album, and that track was actually pretty nice, so I might have to check it out. That, and I dig your taste, so aye.

This must have been one tour after I saw them, but its a lot like I remember. There was a few times where the drummer would be playing up until the climax/drop of a song, and then he would jump into the audience and mosh with everyone. The singer/main guy was wearing a dress and some sort of make up costume for half the set, and his girlfriend was filming on an old video tape recorder. Really  fun

@reminiscing2004 That's dope. I'd wanna see that live. If the live vibe is anything like the music, then I'm sure it was crazy.

Saw Machine Girl live in 2016. Maybe 2015? House show. Live drummer, one of the best shows I've ever seen. (Credit pretty much entirely due to the live drummer).

I second Zeus on Master of Romance.

Their compilation album "Undead 13+2" also has some of their biggest hits like Meisai and Silent Eve . "Gain" isn't half bad either and is different enough from their other stuff to stand on its own.

My personal favorites are their first single "Kokui no shita no...." because it has a bit of that early 2000's vkei sound, and also their mini-album "The Trend Killer", which is mostly included on that compilation album I mentioned, but has some exclusive tracks that I think are worth checking out.

Also, the song little prayer off their single "Crymore" is totally underrated. 

Maitro keeps plugging this series of tapes on the vaporwave subreddits. I'm not crazy about "themed" releases, so I've been passing on them. The tracks are pretty neat, tho.

@platy Yeah, definitely! The genres really taken off I feel like in recent years and there's been some pretty amazing stuff popping up. You've probably heard of Blank Banshee but his albums "0" and "1" I think are my top favs right now.

This is the stuff of dreams 🧡

Classic vaporwave & cloud trap actually work together really well, it's nice and sparkly but w/ some nice low end. I'm usually at the polar extremes w/ downtempo or future funk, but this takes a nice middle road.
