My favorite albums of theirs are NIL and DIM so I'm excited that they have drawn influence from one of those. Also, I didn't mind Stacker Rubbish's sound too much...I felt the singles were good at least (especially Hyena and Filth and the Beauty)...very catchy songs....so this isn't a bad thing to me at all. I doubt it will be leftovers...it'll just sound like it could fit on those albums. I agree with GazeRockSnob...it'll probably have traces of dubba dubba wub wub, but this is all exciting to me!

Nocturnal Bloodlust - Everyone was fearful of them going VK, but I feel their songs are even stronger now. UNITE! - Their first album was decent, but they really shined with their second album. Catchier songs and more versatility with the second album...well versatile compared to the first album. I'm sure I'll have some later...

I guess I'm the only one who wasn't really in to them here, but still...I feel sad about this... Hopefully the members will come back soon!
  7. jduv86

coolness! Been waiting for some new materials!
  8. jduv86

Just got it. lol. It was ok. Weird song. Something I expected from them though. TBH I don't like it as much as their other songs, but it'll probably grow on me.
  9. Oh no! I wish him a speedy recovery
  10. I've heard many people say he's from Seattle....here's something interesting I found out on his facebook page. He's friends with Mia from Mejibray....just saw Tsukuzu on his friends page too...so I guess the bands are friends. XD ...my this is starting to sound like stalking. DAMN YOU HIRO AND YOUR EPIC VOCALS!

Don't act like you didn't want to review this! What do you think of their first album! Not gonna lie, I was disappointed to know that half this album was old songs, BUT since they re-recorded them, I'll let it slide. Abzu - Don't usually review instrumentals, BUT THIS WAS AWESOME! I had chills! 5/5 Pandemic - Fuck yeah! Cool ass opening riff and then that little instrumental intro part before the verse starts where the piano is playing that creepy tune. BEAUTIFUL! Vocals are excellent...didn't expect any less. On a side note...what's with band titling Pandemic....Alsdead, Nocturnal Bloodlust...I feel like there is another band who did it...ah! f*ck it! this is the best one! 4.5/5 3. Last relapse - First re record. Guitar solo was a nice touch, but I don't think it was needed at all. I would have liked if the original high scream in the second verse stayed the same. I don't like that "OH!" echo thing...4/5 4. Domestic Crisis - This was the new song I was actually really excited for to be honest. I liked the previews chorus a lot. I don't like this overall instrumental too much except that bridge between the first and second chorus. The chorus was still really great! That "Hey ladies!" "Hey! fellas"...made the song a little silly to me, but it grew on me after a few listens. For some reason though...I felt I was just sitting around waiting for the chorus to start. I didn't feel anything else outside of that and everything else kind of just went by me. 3/5 5. Empty glass - Decent song. I can see this being their mainstream, break out song. "oh, oh, oh!" Is he saying "hell yeah, FUCK YOU/YEAH!"? Either or...bad a**. 4/5 6. Disaster - That synth in the background reminds me of a creepy circus lol. "OH MY GOD!"...I actually don't like this song as much especially those random slowing down parts. It's not that it is bad sounding, but it feels like it doesn't go with the song AT all. Like drop it in at completely random points on the songs. I wasn't really a fan of that crazy screaming breakdown part after the slow down portion either. Decent, but nothing I'll put on repeat. 3/5 7. Sphere - Perfect. Nothing else to say. PERFECT! 5+/5 8. Aster - Didn't think this band could pull off a ballad, but I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. I feel all the emotion and it's lovely to hear more bass and have the guitars take a back seat. Also, I love the drummers way of playing. He has some really distinct grooves when he plays (listen to Sphere for another good example). Beautiful. I felt every emotion in this song! 5/5 9. UNBREAKABLE - next to Sphere THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE SONG! I've played this song today alone...9Xs. Another perfect song. The chorus is amazingly catchy. Very dancey rock song love. Everything fits perfectly. Another brilliant song that has the perfect balance of screams/growls and beautiful singing. 5/5 10. Obligation - Let me just say this off the back...I love the instrumental, but NO NO NO auto tune! I'm not one of those people who hates auto tune, but THIS band does NOT need it at all! It ruined the song for me because everything else was really good. He could have just sung the chorus normally without auto tuning. But outside of that another solid track. 3.5/5 11. Lost Memory - Now here is a hard song where the slow down part nicely tied into the song. Not going to lie, sounds good, but not nearly one of my faves. It's missing something...not sure what it is, but it's missing something to me. 3/5 12. Reverence - I wasn't too happy with the chorus of this song. I dunno...sounded kind of weak to me. The good thing about this band though is they know how to cover themselves really well if something doesn't really go as well (well...in my opinion)...that breakdown part was hardcore! I love breakdowns like that with just random quotes in there. Also, those really fast screaming parts! F*CK yes! Feel like this is a filler though...good filler though... 4/5 13. Bury me - I wish on the pre chorus, he just sung it instead of having a layer of screams on it. My favorite guitar solo on the album because it's absolutely did what it's suppose to do. It really adds to this song where as I feel most of the solos on this album are appreciated but do little to add anything. Solid song. 3.5/5 14. Pleasure of Torture - I feel like I've heard another band do this song...Bring the Horizon "Pray for Plagues" maybe? Another filler song, but decent for just head banging music. 3/5 15. A Day to Re:member - Not going to lie...nothing grabbed me at first until 1:30 when it got really quiet...and then eerie piano mixed with AWESOME! Chorus seems a bit random though. I feel the song has been really dark and then when the chorus hits, it's like we came out the darkness to a beautiful day, but then we go back into the darkness when it ends. I'm not sure how I feel about this song though. It's far from bad, but probably my lease favorite song on the album. 3/5 Overall: 4/5 - WHAT A DEBUT ALBUM! Like seriously! Many bands CAN'T EVEN PULL THIS AMOUNT OF AWESOME even if they are on their 3rd or 4th album! Probably the most exciting musical release to be released this year for me and they didn't disappoint me at all. Little flaws here ad there just let me know the band have room to grow, but they sound immensely professional. For a first album, they've exceed a lot of other groups who are just releasing their first album! EVERYONE shines on this album too! It's not just a particular element that makes these songs strive. Everyone is an equal contributor. Love this album so much! great job! They have every reason to be proud of this!

ouch! ...Is it bad that I mostly agree with your synopsis? Well since I'm bored, I'll go into detail on this: 1- Pandemic - Starts very promising with the piano, but the vocals kind of irritate me. Like they aren't genuine to me....I don't know...it sounds like he's faking this song. Sounds like a bad anime opening overall. Solo is pretty cool...the only true redeeming quality of this song. 2.5/5 2- FLASH BACK - Didn't like this song at first, but it grew on me a lot. I don't know what he did during the verses, but it sounds like to me he slowed down the tempo of his singing which works better and doesn't sound like a jumble of words. Can't deny the catchiness of the chorus. I don't like his vocals on the breakdown though. I would have just like to listen to just the instruments, but f*ck. Still like this song. 3.5/5 3- Rebellion - Like the opening a lot. Sounds like something I would play. I was totally with this song UNTIL that horrible chorus! I think it would have been awesome if it went into an even heavier chorus line with his screams. I feel like this could have been the the fun, heavy rock out song that the crowd loves (examples Gazette "Discharge", Dir en Grey "Garbage"), but that chorus screwed it. 2.5/5 4- Cattleya - Standard jazz song. I feel like the only ones who do Jazz right are SID. His vocals DON'T go with this style at all...uninspiring and annoying at times. 1/5 5- Puzzle - My love...loved it the first time I heard it...love it now. 5/5 6- Separator - I feel like this should have been at the beginning of the album and lead into something, but not a bad ballad. Really nice voice, but this song is very forgettable. I really have to be in the mood to listen to this...which I'm not anymore... 2/5 7- Flight - Sounds like an anime ending. lol. I liked it until his chorus I don't think he sounds too good in some parts of it. Some of it sounds like he is straining. Nothing interesting going on here though. decent song. Better than Separator, but not by much. 2.5/5 8- Heaven - Like everything about this song except the chorus! I feel like it is very very weak. I also like how the synth in the background changes octaves...I think I hear that. At some points it has a lowerr sound to it and some points it's higher but it's playing the same notes. Really nice light rock song to listen to...3.5/5 9- Hackticvism - I hate HATE this song! Like those vocals are just...NO! Ew....this MUST be a joke. everything about this song screams "WHY AM I HERE!?!" 0/5 10- Swallowtail - I actually enjoy this song. After first every vocal leading to the chorus was annoying, but it grew on me. In the chorus, it seems like he strains a lot on his high notes, but overall I found this song to be decent. One of the stand out new songs. 3.5/5 11- BLINK - Another anime opening type song. It's not bad, it's just boring. 3/5 Overall: 2.5/5 Forgettable for the most part. The best parts of this album have for the most part been released as singles already. They only have a mini album worth of solid material on here and 3 of those already were singles. Also, a lot of time, I have a hard time believing the vocalist. Like his vocals are just not hitting me at all. I'm not going to lie, I fell hard off this band, but listening to "Distrust" made my day at times. None of their songs have hit me like that...Puzzle was close though. But yeah...I feel like a lot of these songs are forced and cliche...like every VK stereotype music wise is put into this album. I was really looking forward to this album, but most of this is just filler songs...and not even good ones...
  14. Apocalypse AND Awakening Impression (live dist.) were IMO not good...Also, the new preview doesn't really grab me. The way his high screams are done really rub me the wrong way and everything else in all the other previews just run together. Not to mention he sounds really nasally. So thus far, IMO as originally stated, they are going downhill. I do agree with your Lycaon statement though... Just looked it up 2010...You're right, my bad lol forgot them.....lol yes, THIS! Going to open this up to just bands in general I suppose though I know I'm going to get some...gazettes, dir en grey, etc, etc...

I really enjoy your newer art especially the last one you posted!
  16. To have no debate over new, I'm going to say beginning of 2012. Bands that started with high hopes! Maybe their first single of mini or album was awesome, but as they continued to release new material over time, it's slowly going downhill. These bands are the ones going downhill for me: Signal: I just can't! After Grow Back over Scars and then the lovely Undetake, but then....nose dive Blu-Billion: Loved them when they first started, but then they got too repetitive. I feel like their songs all sound the same...and when they try to do something different (Mosaic)...it didn't fare to well with me...They seem to be stuck...

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Chorus reminds me of that last song they released...was that Trust...I think?
  19. jduv86

I think the major move for them was a very good idea! They have put out really good songs since then! Well...Xanadu I didn't like..but Tear Drop and this are very good!

  22. from my craiglist ad: "Seeking new band members My influences include Sleeping with Sirens, I See Stars, ALSDEAD, Nocturnal Bloodlust, Coheed and Cambria, and Vistlip. I want to take the catchiness and edge of post hardcore music and mix it with the creativity and diverse sounds of jrock/visual kei to create new fun original music. I'm a big fan of crossing genres to make an unique sound. I want to form a 6 member band (lead, rhythm, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals) of successful minded male and females. We will start by composing a 5 song demo and then eventually play out and promote our songs plus do a couple of covers. This is only the very beginning of what I have planned. I've been playing guitar for about 2 years and been singing for about 9 months. I've been on stage a couple of times and know how to pump a crowd. I look forward to receiving the following from you: Please email your Press Kit. I realize you might not yet have one, so a list of music career experience and achievements along with some examples of your playing will be fine (even if it's links to youtube videos) and your age. After reviewing your email, I will send you my vision, goals, character, values, and focus, and let you decide if you're the right person for the team before proceeding any further. Thanks! To be honest, neither band really is my cup of tea as overall their whole discography makes me very sleepy to listen to. I feel like each one's discography is one long lullaby which is only good at certain times. However, I will say that the mood that 9GOATS BLACK OUT presents in their songs are very very strong and despite Temari being one of my jrock vocal idols, Amber Gris songs just are so boring and Temari's vocals can't save them.
