OTAKON 2013 - with Home Made Kazoku

The difference between Gazette and Screw....Ruki actually has range to his voice....Byou always sounds stopped up and only can go so far...

Well I started off...as every black kid usually does...just listening to rap and RnB music....but then I guess it sophmore year of high school, I heard "Pardon Me" by Incubus and that song alone changed my views on music! I was like "holy f*ck! a DJ in this rock group! This song kicks total a**" ...not that they were the first to do it. Just the first that actually did it the way I liked it at the time. From then on, I just dived hugely into different types of rock genres... Then, my musical style changed again when I went to Otakon 04' and saw L' arc en Ciel. I was like "I have no idea what he's saying, BUT this music is just speaking to me!" I finally started getting a sense of music outside of 'Merica! So those are my two biggest changing points musically.

It does sound so far like a Stacked RUbbish (that's when they started fusing the woman vocals) and NIL like guitar style. Did they actually leave their dubba-dubba style? It's so early to tell...but I'm very interested in this!

I hope they get all this solo crap out of their system...honestly, if you're still going to work together on every project ---you might as well just form Deluhi again with 3 members...xTRiPx has only 3 members now AND they are killing with their music! I'm pretty sure Deluhi as a 3 piece would do just fine.

I usually do a track by track, but I don't have much to say about any individual song. Byou singing as the years go on turn me off more and more. It started after Duality. I feel his vocal limited range is just not good for these songs and he always sounds so like breathy...like he's out of air (I think someone mentioned something of that nature above too). This album isn't bad at all overall, but nothing truly great is on this album except maybe Red Thread and like 2 others. I will say that for every cool thing that happens in each song, there is something that sets it back (usually Byou's vocals). Highlights - Red Thread death candle (a better ballad than Teardrop) DEVESTATED LAND Low Light - EVERYTHING'S A LITTLE CRAZY RIGHT NOW. Everything else falls somewhere in the middle. 3/5

just died a little....I love them so much...I think this is better than the other new song they came out with.

Well seeing as how the album was mostly old songs, I don't see this as them being too fast with their release. I'm sure they probably have possibly another album full of songs, but a mini will do! very excited for this!

.....eh....I dunno...mixed feelings. I just hope that's not the final mixing...

When I'm trying to do work, I usually put on some Baroque classical music...if I play anything else, I tend to get into the song and completely forget working because I'm rocking out. If I don't listen to something, I feel anxious and the work seems more stressful than it is. Don't ask why I use Baroque classical music specifically. I just do.

It seems to me ever since high school I branch out and become obsessed with a certain type of music every 2 years or so...I was the typical black guy liking only rap and RnB...then around my junior year, I got heavy into rock music especially punk: AFI, Zebrahead, Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, etc, etc....when I got to freshmen year of college, I got really obsessed with jpop thanks to Ayumi Hamasaki, Amuro Namie, Utada Hikaru, mflo....when I got to my junior year of college it was NOTHING but jrock-ed out, Gazette, Dir en Grey, Asian Kung Fu Generation, Art School, etc...after college, I got into a huge techno dance phase....then after that, I got back into american music and was obsessed with post-hardcore music...now here I am in the midst of my kpop craze. lol...I guess I've never really taken a "break" really, but I have gone through obsessive years with just certain genres...

No particular order. 1. XtripX (FINALLY BACK YEAH!) 2. UNITE 3. Vistlip 4. the Gazette 5. Mejibray 6. Nocturnal Bloodlust 7. Dir en Grey (though I don't like everything they do, I like their creativity) 8. Sadie 9. DOPPEL 10. Royz #1 is totally Nocturnal Bloodlust...I wake up and go to bed to "SPhere" almost everyday lol

^ This band and solo artist are on the opposite side of the spectrum then Akado...I think they actually visually did a good job looking VK (Well the second video---that look with him sitting in the chair is kind bad, but his other stalker look is good), BUT their songs are horrid...especially that first example (WTF was that random chorus?)...Akado looks like crap, but they actually seem like good musicians. I wish these bands could find a balance without sacrificing anything...Psycho Phobia's look with Akado's music, I think I could actually get into it... I will, however, check out some of more Akado's music though...

Didn't say you did...all I was saying is that girls usually in the band get pushed to just being vocals which is sad. It's always cool to see girls playing instruments...sorry for digressing from the subject... The online colab could work, the problem is no one is usually full force about it. No one seems to take it seriously and eventually it just fizzles out without any results. As long as people are determined to do it, it could work...but it's just hard to keep it going...

Awww....lol. I'd take you into a band with me! It's always refreshing to see a female play an instrument instead of just being a singer in the band. Alas, you are too far away too....

I actually like this. But I don't like the Visual Kei style presented here. Just don't like the way they dress. ALso, freeze frame on some of the vocalist's facial expressions. THEY ARE HILARIOUS! Like 2:09...most of his screaming faces are funny.
