This band..
Judging from their look and logo i thought they would be totally different than they turned out. Saw them at a MEABEL event this year.
What seemed to me as a wanna be cool, heavy yakuza slang talking, seemingly aggressive, 140 cm small, bad-singer vocalist "attacked" one girl in the crowd after screaming at her from the stage because she wasnt headbanging or for what reason whatsoever (was her position center or how its called, 2nd or 3rd row from the front and in the middle), kicked her bag and heavily pushed/threw her backwards. While everyone clearly saw that, not one person there did anything, not even her shocked friend standing next to her. She left, came back to grab her bag and showed middle finger to them (and fully left?). Singer clearly seemed to enjoy that.  
A lot of band guys jump in the crowd at the gig, but only in "a positive way" such as Dispinas vocalist happily dancing with the fans.
First and only time i've ever saw such thing at an vk live (hitting amongst fans might be more common i heard).
Standing last row on the side as always (being 1 head taller than everyone), i had no idea what to do/ how to react. To stand up for her i didnt know the background story enough, dont want to cause trouble as foreigner, etc.

IMO Awkward are the sausages in his face (lip job?).
 
Except for the first seconds of the chorus and the djent/rhytmig shredding parts, boring. That its technically better than your average vk doesnt matter if its still just bland boring. The intro riffs guitar effects sound so incredible cheap.
Only watched to end for mustache guy. Amazing look and handsome face profile.

i think l'eprica is a good examples of what you're looking for.
 
zodia are more heavy and less atmospheric, but i think this song of theirs might also fit into what you're looking for.

If I can be frank for a second, I'm disappointed how easily distracted people are.
 
It's only been two days and there are already countless arguments about the merits and harms of file sharing. That doesn't address the real point of why we are currently in the situation we are in right now. Our hand was played and the staff was not happy. One member who goes by the name of @Kawaii_Minpha decided it would be cute to troll the staff and the website by threatening to report us to the RIAJ unless we gave in to her demands, which among other things called for banning members she does not like. If you read the messages sent to us, it turns from funny to sad in an instant. What pisses me off personally is how someone would try to ruin what we have going here for kicks. Even threatening to do so is worthy of an instant ban and I should not have to explain why.
 
As an aside, I don't really care how you feel about file sharing - facts are that if you are here, you are guilty by association - but these last few days have proven that without Monochrome Heaven there's nowhere for anyone to go. Downloads can always find a new home but to find another place where you can have mature, constructive discussions about Japanese music in an open environment will be much harder. And that place could never exist without free music so people can talk about it, because the barrier for entry is too high. We have to recognize the role that piracy plays in all our lives. That's why saying "buy music to support your favorite artists" is not the be all, end all answer. It's a good answer, but it's more complicated than that. No one here woke up one day and decided to buy Dir en grey albums on a whim. Japanese bands became our favorite bands because we pirated music long enough to become devoted enough to pay for it. Some people are at different stages of their fandom. This website has found the perfect balance of both piracy and discussion while also managing to be inclusive of all styles of Japanese music and there's nowhere else on the internet that even comes close to this. That's awesome.
 
That's why this situation has the staff thinking about what we exist for. This website may not mean much to many members here beyond downloads but the staff has poured countless hours of time and energy into investing in the website and the community. Are we harming the scene? Yeah, no doubt. But we probably do a lot of good as well. With the countless messages I've gotten over the last few days about "where all the free music went" I'm not convinced we can do good without doing some harm as well. The tools are not in place to promote visual kei globally without piracy, and I doubt there ever will be. The scene wouldn't be what it is today if it weren't for all of us here. We either take the good with the bad or abstain entirely.
 
There is more to this website than just downloads and the constant activity over the last few days proves that this community is strong. Stronger than even we may have realized ourselves. This is awesome, keep up the good work! Having said that, I've thought a lot about Kevin from Batsu and how he freaked out and deleted the download section when he thought the feds were coming for him. His approach was blunt, but I understand how he felt. He figured Batsu could weather the storm and would be better for it...and that unfortunately did not work out. If push came to shove we would make a similar decision, and that's why for the last two years we have been working hard to provide other reasons for people to come back here. While the download section is offline I implore you all to go check out the News, Rumors, Review, and General sections to start. There's enough tea there to keep you sipping until things are finalized.
 
The staff is still ironing out the details so expect more information soon. I can confidently say that the news will come as a shock to everyone but some people will not notice and others will.

Haha, we had such a thing 8 or 10 years ago, but it was just amount of posts, not useful ones, which resulted in mass spam from leechers wanting to get access

Knowing how bad they are live, i wonder why i even watched this. Still love their CD recordings.
Amazing how many people are in the audience enjoying this band. I wonder there was ever a band this bad in vk with "such" amount of fans? 
I just hope their vocalist never shows up again.

At their oneman live 千秋 was talking about how he was deeply thinking about why he's making music and whats the point of continuing. After several weeks/months of thinking he still couldnt find one good reason. Guess like in a typical MC everyone exects him to say for the fans or for music but he said he doesnt care about the fans at all. Everythings useless for him, seemed quite honestly depressing (not blabla im so depressed, love me for that - Karma/AvelCrap) what he said. Still the MC was so incredible bad/boring at first, seems he didnt know what to say at first at all. Before or after (dont remember) they played a song for like 20 mins or so with SaZ walking around in the hall/entering from various doors and 千秋 playing guitar while "crowd surfing/sitting on the crowd" (dont know how to describe better), what he could do really well/ awesome shredding solos, was totally suprised by that. The setlist order of the songs felt totally random, the lighting/fire effects didnt fit at all most of the time imo. Maybe they'll put out a DVD and it works better if seen from there, they filmed the entire live with several cameras. Miyako seemed like a support member to me. Oh btw they played an intro song (no vocals) not mentioned in the setlist at twitter. 
 
Wonder where they go from here. Too sucessful to disband, but who knows. SaZ seems busy producing other bands like RAINDIA and i guess DAMY, BUK BUK and all these other so called copys.

Sorry but I feel community as in the people/trolls/mods liked/known around here, not 90% of the actual visitors.

He posted news not avaible on twitter, vkdb, visunavi, visulog, etc. Infos about live distr. CDs you NEVER could've found out about except you check 2ch or stalk auctions 24/7. I dont know how he knows this by going the lives himself and instantly posting what the vocalist just gave only by voice as information and which was never written anywhere else EXCEPT maybe 2ch. So good luck not only learning japanese, but also that slang used on 2ch to get infos about obscure small bands.
Might also go and piss off YNS and numetal and your dl section is dead aka Nr.1 reason next to news section. Will the handful of people caring/reading the other stuff done by mods here then? (I cant tell anything what mods/admins do in the background noone notices, here i feel/guess they always did an amazing job, but the written contributions, reviews..haha)

Ha;qch's Edict totally agree, the problem is i like it way more than the original. But didnt know it copied more than just Elder Mysantropy, didnt know the TBDM other songs.
 
On a sidenote, it would be interesting to list all J-Rock Songs with the typical/most common structure in 70% of all todays vk songs chorus with the guitar playing like this or a small alteration or which song/band started with that:

Heavy parts in the low chord region going up to typically 8 followed by 7 power chord.
 
Its so common it already feels necessary to me and if its missing some songs feel uncomplete (latest e.g. ARCHEMIs 崇拝 has the typically 0-1-3 stuff going on but misses the 8-7, which makes me feel something is missing listening to the song).
VK is so predictable since few (a lot?) of years, listening to a new song the first time i feel like i can already tell the next riff before its even coming. Just a handful of bands makes an exception to that.
