I'm guessing the "-7" is for the years they went on hiatus?

Okay so the first half of that mess of a title is probably a reference to that 'dude, we're time travelers from the future coming back to the '90s to boost our record sales' gimmick they had going on early in their career, what's the deal with the -7 = 20 part tho?

Their new single 「ラブレター」(Love letter)  will be released on 2018.12.05. 
To celebrate their fourth anniversary, an one-man live called 「雨の日」(Ame no hi)will occur on 2018.12.25 at Shibuya WWW. If I am right, a live DVD of this one-man live will be released later on.
A mini tour called 『甘く暴れた雨』(Amaku abareta ame) with 甘い暴力(Amai Bouryoku) will begin on 2018.11.03 and will end on 2018.11.24.

Didn't know these guys, but they sound good! I'm glad Hirokatsu and Naoki are back, but reading "ex-me al art" hurts so much. Just yesterday I was blasting ヘメロカリス at full volume.

COCK ROACH's leader / vocalist Jinpei announced very simply on their official website's BBS that the band would return after having called it a quits in 2005.
He explained that after having composed more acoustically with mugen minus, the electric folk group he started in 2006, that he wanted to get back to a band sound. Here's the full message:

この掲示板に来てくれている人がまだいてくださる事に感謝です。ここに来てくれている人だけでも良いので新しい作品ができたら是非聴いてみてください。

解散して13年？くらい経ちました。私もメンバーも随分と歳をとりました。私は13年間音楽とは関係の無い仕事をしてきました。今でも音楽を「仕事」にするつもりはありません。
しかし様々な形で音楽作品をつくってきました。
日々、労働や生活に身を置く中で強く感じた事や感動した事を唄にしてきました。
その時に、やりたい時に、創りたい作品を自由につくる事で音楽だけは色褪せる事無く、宝玉の様な清さでいつも真ん中にありました。どんなに辛い事があっても音楽活動が自分を支えてくれました。

cock roachを再始動させる理由はシンプルに2つあります。
ひとつはcock roachを少しでもファンでいてくださる方達に逢いたくなった事。
もうひとつはいい作品がいいメンバーとつくれているので完成させたいと思った事。

無限マイナスも大好きですが、13年間でしたためた曲をアコースティックでは無く、もう一度ぶ厚いバンドサウンドで作品化したくなりました。無限マイナスファンの皆様本当に申し訳ありません。

このふたつの理由以外にcock roachは何も望みません。
以前にもこの掲示板で書かせてもらった通り、私は靴を舐めてでも、マヨネーズを吸いつづけてでも音楽だけは続けます。
随時こちらには情報を載せたり、ホームページをリニューアルしたり、リリース情報やライブ情報を載せてもらいます。アルバムリリースは来年の春予定です。遅れてもアルバムは必ず発表します。

COCK ROACH released several popular demo tapes leading up to their 2001 debut album '虫の夢死と無死の虫'. They released a 2nd album, took a hiatus, and then reformed a year later with a 2nd guitarist making the band a 5-piece. They played alongside bands such as Kulu Kulu, The Back Horn and REDRUM and the members of COCK ROACH sometimes still appear in session gigs alongside those contemporaries.

The band broke up in 2005 barely a year after their return when their first guitarist Tetsurou decided to leave the band which he had been apart of with the other 3 founding members since 1996 when they were just in high school.

Jinpei started mugen minus in 2006. Yuya joined REDRUM briefly in 2006. And Both Jinpei and Yuya formed 'Hakase to Korogi' and released one album 'Monochrome Butterfly' which were a spiritual successor to the COCK ROACH sound.

The new lineup COCK ROACH consists of original members Jinpie and Yuya alongside Hirokatsu and Naoki who were part of me-al art. The latter band were the only band signed to Jinpei's label Kuromushi Geijutsu and me-al art disbanded in 2015.  It is unknown why the original guitarists and drummer from COCK ROACH are not part of the reunion.

Eve (ex-Lycaon) wrote all of AvelCain's good songs, and GOEMON RECORDS was openly searching for composers for ARLEQUIN/PENTAGON/POIDOL.
 
There's also a rumor that KISAKI wrote *all* of UNDER CODE PRODUCTION bands' music, but that's pretty laughable/giving him too much credit.

Kinda funny how at least 5 out of the 9 tracks already have music vids tho 

DIMMDIVISION. announced their 3rd single [ Brightly, Brightly / Slide ] to be released at their 1st oneman live this Sunday.
 

It's fucking over. I have loved Gargoyle for years (own all of their albums, their EPs, most of their various re-recordings, that massive 10 DVD boxset, etc.) and seeing this news earlier this morning has ruined my day. Toshi was there from the very beginning in 1987 and Katsuji joined a year later. Kentaro came into the picture a little later (1994) and replaced She-ja (along with Yotaro who later left in 2001). These aren't just random saps leaving. It's the lifeblood of the band. Even if Kiba decides it's solo project time (keep in mind he's like 52, it would be a logical time to call it quits) but with Gargoyle's name, it wouldn't be the same band. It's basically the end.
 
Quite a shame really. It's like a piece of history is ending to me. Gargoyle was one of Japan's earlier thrash metal bands and easily one of the most creative ones. Hell, they're one of the most weird/creative thrash metal bands period. I never would have guessed their last album in 2016 would end up being their last one. 31 quality years is not a bad run. RIP one of my all time favorite bands.

that was great! thank you @cvltic, I'm a huge nerd about these things. I love reading and researching about it. And I've always, ALWAYS wanted to do a doc about the scene and the surrounding culture. I still hope to be able to do it while some of my favorite people are still alive.
 
The first time I heard about these boards was around 2005, but I was a 2ch lurker since... late 2003. And, I loved seeing the japanese BBSes for specific bands. Some are still up after 15 years (which is incredible, if you thing about it!) or a little of it survived due to being archived. I never really liked the gossip thing because: 
 
1- my japanese was awful (still is, but now it's more manageable)
2- gossip eventually gets passed around as truth and that's never good.
 
So I always took everything with a grain of salt. But those boards were also a nice source of knowledge about how the fan culture works, and how it isn't really different from general fan culture around the world, except for its inherent "Japanese-ness".
 

They were fun live! They sold these light up clear plastic butcher knives that were incorporated into the furi and looked fun. (Y'know, and the nostalgia of seeing half of Doremidan of course)

I hope I can get this and see them!
