Igyou_Hime got a reaction from Atreides in Official Music Hate Thread
I personally prefer RES, but I have to admit at times Satsuki's voice wasn't appropriate for their sound. His solo is a bit too pop for me, but some songs really suits his voice. I've understood that many agree with you though...
I accidently came across a picture of Misaruka today and it pissed me off....reminded me of how bad they are. The first thing I saw with them was that horrible cover of Malice Mizer's song Gekka no yasoukyoku, and as a Malice Mizer fan I couldn't have gotten a worse start with that band. Saw them live half a year ago and that didn't really help, the members seemed rather annoying and the music is the kind which sounds the same (a cd sounds like 3 different songs, that kind). To be honest I could probably add all the bands on Kiwamu's label (except for Velvet Eden, despitethem going downhills I can't hate them since I absolutly love the first 3 eras)

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from Tetora in How much do you follow your favorite bands? (Questionnaire)
1: Do you buy multiple versions of releases, or buy at all? (Judgement-Free-Zone)
I have different levels of fandom, so I have bands I'd probably be concidered to be obsessed about, then there's the ones I follow/listen to. If it's bands I'm obsessing about or members sideprojects I buy them all! and also sometimes I have 2 of the same so I can keep one in mint and open and listen to one. Then there's bands I just buy the releases I really like.

2: Do you collect cheki or other non-music related items from bands?
Yes! I buy it all, from chekis to stickers, photos, you name it (again, this only goes for my favorite bands, but I do have one or 2 chekis or photos with bands I just enjoy aswell)

3: Follow them on Ameblo, Twitter?
    Of course~

4: Would you follow them on the street?
If I saw them I probably would. I'd probably be too shy to say anything though:P I won't say which band but I accidentally got a members homeaddress and I concidered going there just to see how he lives last time I was in Japan, but then I ended up not going. Mostly because I felt like I don't want to scare him if he'd see me there and also I realised that's taking it a bit too far.

5: Dig through their trash? (Judgment-Free-Zone)
Közi is one of my obsessions, and I went to one of his "talk" events last year. This took place at a tiny bar and during the event he smoke and drank so when he left after the event I was very close to picking up one of his left over, burnt cigarettes but I didn't... that's the closest I've got to digging up peoples trach and I'd not go further even I have limits.

6: Does Visual Kei or other forms of your musical taste influence your style or personal life?
If by style you mean clothes, then maybe but not very obviously. My personallife I'd say it has. Because of visual kei and my favorite bands I began studying japanese which also led me to going there several times and experience lots more than just music (and having a bachelor degree in japanese studies). I'd say it changed my life.

7: Desire to move or visit Japan influenced by music?
Yes, (see above), but like I mentioned VK might have draged me to japan which made me realise japan is a very beautiful and amazing country, but it's not enough to make me want to live there. So the reason I'd like to live in Japan isn't because the music, maybe a tiny bit, but because of their amazing culture. I just love it.

8: Do you read dirt-sheets of bands, like rumours, gossip, etc...?
not much, I try and stay out of contact with other fans. I've met/talked to some very interesting people thanks to forums etc, but mostly I have bad experiences with other fans. I like to keep my fandom to myself.

9: Ever fantasize about being friends with band members? (JFZ)
Yes, but it depends on the band/musician. I follow bands and certain members I know I probably wouldn't like to know IRL and then I follow and admire those I'd like to have another relationship to. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about a romantic relationship but a friendship. Some of these people I find very interesting and I'd love to be able to talk to them like I do with my friends.

10: Do you want to be in a Visual Kei band (or any other kind of band)?
No way, never even thought about it XD

well that's not really true since Hora's released loads of soloalbums My guess is Schwarz Stein had to step back since Kaya was busy with Femme Fatale, so I'm happy they broke up. And Hora hinted at a full album

Igyou_Hime reacted to acbpn in bands and their hate for illegal uploads....
Is it the time that I should say something cuz I'm the original uploader?

again, I mentioned that this upload is only for mch do not spread it, but someone just ignore it and first, to vk.com after one hour, and then notorious v3 blxgspxt.
even someone said the spread can't be prevented cuz this is the INTERNET.
well, I think we should not only repect the band members' wishes but also the original uploaders.
I know it's hard to manage the people who promote the music they love, but if this can't be solved, I'm afraid there won't be more rarez of in-active bands to share, cuz it'll give pressure to original uploaders, this includes me and my friends.
nokubura did that one or two years ago, now The Time Has Come......

I'm neutral about the debate. First, I'm not so rich so I take many rips of others too. Second, I just wanna satisfy those who are dying to hear sth. Third, I could understand those HATERS' UNION cuz they LOVE the bands they love and don't want the bands to be hurt.

in a result, should we make some rules about this? and also, the rules of promisers to secret uploaders.

plus, I hold many other rips of good quality rarez too, but sth. I just don't wanna share.
Thoughts of Japanese bands are totally different from western and other asian countries. sometime we ought to respect their thoughts. Do as the Romans do though we aren't Romans.

I've only seen 1 stream, mostly because like the above said, it's waaaaay to long especially when I don't even know if there will be anything of interest. So I'm one of those who rather not get a surprise and would love to see a list of the items being auctioned beforehand...

    I don't think that's possible XD

Joking aside, that actually kinda is the case. The only way that we're able to offer things at such cheap prices while still making some profit is due to the fact that we buy and ship in such large quantities.

I think in the future, a band list beforehand would definitely be doable so that shouldn't be a problem.

Igyou_Hime got a reaction from Tetora in Anyone see this article: `The Story of Visual Kei`?
What I meant was that many people who aren't that well informed might think that rock is all about being rebel and going your own path, without listening to orders and because of that since VK is connected to rock music might think VK musicians are all about going their own way etc and I don't think that's very likely. And in japan maybe more than anywhere else everything which has something to do with bands etc is very controled. (I hope I make sense...I'm very tired so I'm not even sure of what I just wrote XD)

To be honest, looking at how VK has been from the start, you can see clear recemblances with the pop industry and that's much because of how the japanese music industry look. Everyone might think that these bands are very individual etc but truth be told many of them obviously want to go on a label for better marketing and well better everything and when you go on a label in Japan they will sort of control the band. I'm writing my thesis partly about VK for the moment and I've read japanese material about the VK scene and also talked with one of my teachers who knows a bit about both japan and music there (not vk though but from the litterature I get the feeling what he had to say about it fits even the VK scene). and I think it's also a cultural thing, you can't get away from the japanese system, and the business-system in japan is probably hard pass by without ending up in the middle.

also I have a question I've asked before (not here though I think), does anyone have any japanese source for what oshare kei is? I've tried googling but don't end up with much, also it sort ofsounds weird since the bands usually are very colorful (like an cafe) whereas oshare means dressed up, as in classy dressup...

This completes my KISAKI PROJECT collection save from "永遠の夢~for Lovers…~" and the rather expensive, mail-limited box-set of "final confession since 2003.2.14~2004.10.31". (Although it doesn't cost that much on Puresound, I've spent enough the past few weeks.) (And I still cannot figure out if "final confession" was released separately from the box-set or that people were simply stupid to sell them separately second-hand.)

Also, at least amongst my friends, I think M-Flo is severely underrated, they were way ahead of their time.

Again amongst my friends, they all hate Zazen Boys.  I think they're genius.

^ It took an extremely long amount of time for me to appreciate OLOD, but SSL is a truly unique and interesting chapter in B-T's discog, that's for sure! Gotta love the totally cold, otherworldly and at times minimalistic feel of the whole album. Not to mention that the live DVD that record spawned is one of their best!

I've noticed I'm sort of lonley with saying that,  but I really like their late 90's stuff. Sexy Stream Liner and One Life, One Death is superior to any of their other cd's IMO.

nuppe's can still be considered black face. He did it because playing the part of someone from Africa. His mannerisms were affcted and he was supposed to be speaking another language obviously so he would just make sounds. It was a joke but I still think it was more out of ignorance and lack of cultural awareness (a huuuuge problem here) than racismOh ok sorry. Though, once again as you noticed it's a pain in the ass to sift through tanuki threads so it's highly doubtful someone (even fuckyeahtanuki) would grab links to specific threads--plus discussions like what you wanted to see are most likely spanning several threads. But definitely, you have to be skeptical with reading it and most of the time is bitching about gya tbh. But even if you're majoring in japanese it doesn't prepare you for the bangya slang that riddles the threads and they sometimes give members nicknames (ie kisaki is "tooth" iirc. JokArt au Legal's bassist's name was Suu so they wrote his name as the kanji for vinegar)

Yes, because a pet is the same thing as a few people with instruments on the other side of the world whom you only know from photoshopped pictures and audio files on the internet. What kind of silly comparison is that.

I think it's a sign of a weak personality if you get so "attached" to some group of musicians that you make a big fuss about it or even (pretend to) cry if they quit. And that's not limited to indie bands. Might as well be Iron Maiden or something.

I must disagree with you. You think it's wrong to get attached to a band you love, since all indie bands eventually disband? That's like thinking it's wrong to love your dog and be extremely emotional about its death since all pets die eventually. Getting attached to things is life, and when something great ends, you get sad. Period.
