Dating is over rated anyways. It's great if you find someone you care about and they care about you too. But it's so complicated and messy.
 
Feel ya on the traumatic experience. The first person I ever confessed to and they told me they felt the same ended up stringing me along while they were trying to choose between me and another guy. Saw some red flags but I was too naive and blinded by what I wanted. In a good/bad way I never trust anyone now. 
 
I'm sure it's different for girls but I've had generally good experiences using dating apps. Biggest problem I've ran into as a guy is girls telling me they're "actually too busy to date but have an account just out of curiosity." And being cat-fished. It also definitely matters which one you use. Different apps for different folks ranging from "Tinder: looking for a fvck buddy" to "Hinge: looking for something serious". Not saying that any one app has an exclusive type of audience but you're just more likely to come across certain types of people in one app vs another.
 
I've actually had some of the deepest conversations I've ever had with people I've met on dating apps. I'm even still friends with one girl I ended up meeting IRL and we'll end up commenting on each other's insta stories from time to time. It really is a crapshoot though. Like 90% of the time it will be a waste of time, but you do meet some cool people.
 
If it makes you feel better I'm sure nearly everyone on the forum has gotten the same response from people for their interests haha. It's different cause she's family, but my sister ALWAYS makes fun of me for listening to music that doesn't "match" my personality. When I listen to rap and hip/hop she'll be like "Oh, you think you're cool now?" 😂

Also, been forever single since 2017, 'cause yeah traumatic experience and since then I'm not actually looking for it either.
People are always shocked or surprised that I like VK/J-Rock music, because ''it doesn't fit in my character''/ as the way I look and I don't care much about it though.
Hmm...  neither my ex liked that I listened to those heavy shit either rofl. I'm happy that I can at least share my interests with my online friends (and on MH too)

That's pretty cool! I like the alterego concept, it feels fresh in the ears :3 More bands should do this tbh

For some reason this completely flew under my radar, but it appears RAKUGAKI has released their 1st digital single under their alterego moniker 羅苦餓鬼 (also read as "Rakugaki") on 2020/10/31, titled 『殺意二満チタ貴女へ…』("Satsui NI miCHITA kijo E..."). As you could guess from the stylization of the title, it's more of a dark kote-kei influenced record compared to their usual eclectic pop-punk rock style.
 
This comes as too late now, but they were also taking pre-orders for a special made-to-order cassette version of the single until 8th November (i.e. the number of copies are limited to the number of preorders). So that slipped us by now, but at least we can listen to the tunes online.

I have at the moment 94 CD's; mostly VK and few anime/otome songs/K-Pop albums.
My 95th CD is on it's way so that's probably all

Definitely! It's gonna be a mix of headbang until you're dead songs, more ballad-y songs, bass slaps, interesting guitar riffs, nice solid rock songs... so it's really gonna be a best album that shows the band from all kind of sides!

Hey everyone! It's been a while! (Probably 5 years since I stepped down as moderator here, damn!)
I'm kinda back into VK/J-Rock and stuff, so I'm probably trying to start hanging out here more like the old days.
I hope everyone is still doing fine and well!
 
I wonder who are still active here from the time I was active on this forum. Anyways, like old days, hope to get a chance to talk through the chat!
Also, I'm open to any band recommendations, hit me up with links as spotify and such.
Maybe my lastfm will help with some recommendations ^^
I'm currently still into MEJIBRAY and I also like bands such as ACME, HAKLO, Versailles, Diaura, Nocturnal Bloodlust, Royz.

It seems that fans are allowed to vote what songs should be included in the album! Also the order of the songs are for us to decide and even the jacket are for us to decide too!
Not sure what nr 4 is about but the next one is title of the best album that we can decide too?

From what I get is that HAKLO ba. ViVi turned out to have bipolar disorder.
The members are still confused by the sudden situation.
For now it looks like ba ViVi has to concentrate on the treatment as he's not in a state of mind to appear in the public.
That's why the one-man tour that will be held on the 25th of October will be without ba. ViVi.
The staff and the members are hoping for ViVi's comeback and are thanking the fans for the understanding and apologizing for the inconvenience.
 
 
And Koudai says that respecting ViVi's will to recover his condition someday, they'll let him concentrate on his treatment.
We'll continue our one-man tour starting this month and future activities without ViVi and in the meantime the band will protect HAKLO
so that he can come back anytime when he's ready.

I hate that they started producing music with the lowest common denominator in mind. For their Beautiful Deformity cycle I remember reading an interview where Ruki talked about buying the "right" kind of mic or something and that he wanted to consider the fans that just listened to music through their phone speaker or something like that. People who listen to music that way deserve to have their ears taken from them anyways.
 
I think I get it. I felt that way about re-recordings for Girugamesh's "Goku" and "Gokusou". The production was heavier and they added a lot of flourishes which was nice, but they also updated the sound with their style at the time so it sounded too electronic and clean. So, the originals will always be the one I listen to even if it's more lo-fi and simpler.
 
I always appreciate acoustic versions or different takes. These tend to work out better imo because, like you said, a lot has to change to make it work so bands gotta be more deliberate with the writing. 
 
I wish bands like Screw actually did a few remakes. Some vkei bands early on had some ROUGH vocals when they started out. 
 
I'm a fan of remastering in most cases too.  Less tampering with the original.

In my opinion, I always prefer the original one, so the first-take recording.
for example MEJIBRAY has a song called "KILLING ME" (First single) re-recorded 2 extra times, one in the Emotional Karma album (2012) and the final album in their best-single album SM (2017). And both of them are feeling too much forced like in vocals and in instrumentals.

but I do have to say, in some cases like re-recording from demo releases are sometimes slightly a little better, like Royz their demo and Diaura's demo release. The quality is somehow better. ^^

Their demo sample is good. It's some different kinda style than what I usually listen to but its nice so far.
Also I've becoming pretty good friends with him, and I've followed his cooking lessons today on twitter  lol (*´∀｀*)b I asked him to share the recipe and he did 😆
(the reason he's cooking: he's preparing food and such for his bday event)
