  1. Only heard Silhouettes which I liked, but I'm going to check out their new album.

I'm going to see Periphery in early October on their Frak The Gods tour and these guys along with the Human Abstract are opening for them. It's going to be a great experimental and technical metal concert. Haven't heard their new new singer yet though.

  2. Used to have an obsession with Fallen, fantastic album, not a dud song on it.

Don't like what you want at all. Sounds like it's trying to be Fallen, but failing.

    Feel the same about Fallen

And I liked some things about What You Want and didn't like others. The heavy guitars and violins are what I liked. The chorus was just okay. And what I didn't really like was the refrain of the song. I suspect there will be a re-mastered version on the album.

  3. evanescence.jpg

Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003. Fallen sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and helped the band win two Grammy Awards. A year later, Evanescence released their first live album, Anywhere but Home, which sold more than one million copies worldwide. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, The Open Door, which sold more than six million copies.

The line-up of the band has changed several times: David Hodges leaving in 2002, co-founder Moody left in 2003 (mid-tour), bassist Will Boyd in 2006, followed by guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray in 2007. The last two changes led to a hiatus, with temporary band members contributing to tour performances.O n June 12, 2011, Amy Lee announced through her Twitter account that Troy McLawhorn was officially back with Evanescence and that the release date for the new album would be October 4, 2011. Later, on July 11, 2011 it was reported by MTV News that the release date for the album had been pushed back to October 11. The first single from the album will be "What You Want".

During the sessions that the band had with Steve Lillywhite, Lee described the album as a "rainbow of sounds" with heavy songs and stripped out songs. She added that the album had electro influences and a lot of drums programming. Later during the sessions with Nick Raskulincecz, Lee talked about the theme of the album saying, "I get inspired by nature. The ocean's been a theme. Brokenness has become a little bit of theme, without necessarily offering a solution." She added that the band used a lot of new instruments such as harp, synthesizers and vintage keyboards like the Moog Taurus Pedal. In an interview with Kerrang! Lee said that she was inspired by life adding, "The music is about me [and] my relationships. The music and the lyrics have gone more aggressive than they ever have before too." She described the music as epic, dark, big, beautiful and desperate.

Was a really big fan of their fallen album and era. Bought it on release day. The open door had them expanding their sound, and sound production wise it was very clean. However I just didn't find the music to be as engaging or found the songs to have a nice flowing sound like on their first album. After reading the description for the new album and hearing what you want, I'm actually looking forward to their new material.

  4. hm don't like the album cover art.

Reminds me a lot to Dookie by Greenday.

Though not the same. Just seems the same comic like technique.

Which will again trigger some fools comparing between the two.

About who the best of them. :s

    But new music is good.

    I ship it.

Never understood why people have to argue between the two. I enjoy both of their music but they both have been and have gone into different music and thematic directions. Plus they're gone on tour with each other before and are suppose to be friends.

I'm going to end up pre-ordering this as well. I know there's a site out there already taking orders for when it comes, but I'm going to wait a bit longer. I'm hoping for a special edition or bundle type of thing for the album.

I don't know much about the waiting periods of Chinese releases between albums, but if that's true that's a hell of a long time. But it may also mean she may release something soon. It's been like 3-4 years since Easy World. I guess we might have to wait an additional 3 years or so.

Zhong Chi is a Chinese trip hop artist who grew up in Denmark under the influence of Northern European music. She started to explore the world of music herself since she turned 18 and met famous Shanghai electro musician Jiayang Yixi (嘉洋溢西) in 2005. With him, she spent 2 years playing music and doing tryouts; the result of this collaboration was her debut album, entitled ‘Easy World’, published at the end of 2007 by SOMA ART (索玛文化). As a live performer she immediately attracted many of the best musicians to join her live set and her concerts are a complete joy, both audibly and visually.

Her voice melts my face off. :DUUR:

Loved Easy World and upped it incase wants to hear it. Sadly I haven’t heard any type of update from her. Music or career wise. And from what I can tell, even though they have Easy World on Itunes, the album no longer has a physical Cd Distributer. I’m hoping this wasn’t a once in a lifetime release type of thing because I’d love to hear more from her.

  7. Only listen to about two or three of there songs and only one song by AAA.

Check out their last album. It's easily some of their best work. Great experimental rock.

Up All Night has really grown on me. I thought it sounded like Boxcar Racer with AVA but it definitely has a blink feel to it. And I'm glad their continuing with their experimental and mature sound.

    Artwork for their new album.

For some reason I was expecting something a bit more colorful.

And anyone hear Heart's All Gone? It's a lot more energetic and has that punk vibe too.

Blink-182 is an American pop punk band consisting of vocalist and bass guitarist Mark Hoppus, vocalist and guitarist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker. They have sold over 27 million albums worldwide since forming in Poway, California in 1992. With original drummer Scott Raynor they released their debut album Cheshire Cat in 1994 and achieved moderate success with its follow-up, 1997's Dude Ranch, which went on to sell over one million copies. Raynor was replaced by Barker midway through a 1998 tour.

The band achieved greater success with 1999's multi-platinum selling Enema of the State, which reached #9 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of the singles "What's My Age Again" and "All the Small Things", the latter of which became the highest-charting song of their career by reaching #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Blink-182 gained popularity for their irreverent sense of humor, and the follow-up album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001) reached #1 in the United States, Canada, and Germany. The eponymously-titled Blink-182 followed in 2003 and was a stylistic shift for the group, infusing experimental elements into their usual pop punk formula which resulted in a more mature sound.

DeLonge left Blink-182 in early 2005, sending the band into indefinite hiatus. He went on to form Angels & Airwaves while Hoppus and Barker formed +44. Hoppus also pursued a career as a television host while Barker continued working in music as a producer and solo artist. Blink-182 reunited in February 2009 and their sixth studio album, Neighborhoods, is scheduled to be released September 27, 2011.

I can't imagine my teenage years without these guys. They're definitely one of my favorite bands. Love everything they've ever put out. Their last 3 album are my favorite with their self titled being my personal favorite. I'm really excited about their new album. I hope they have another epic sounding track like they did with Robert Smith of the cure on All Of This.

I'm not sure on their new single Up All night. It sounded a bit too much like Angels and Airwaves at first, but its growing on me.

  9. I liked their first album a lot better than the new one, but I saw them live a few weeks ago and they were still great :P I'd love to see them to a smaller tour though, because I'd like to see them in a venue instead of on a festival :s

First album was the best. And I decided on not going. I don't really like festivals and abhor hot summer weather so that sealed the deal for me. I'll just wait till they come back headlining a tour.

And a new video for Closure came out. These guys do seem hella fun live.

  10. In Aliens/Extraterrestrial Life?

    grey_alien-2.jpgufo.jpg

I was always fascinated by the subject of aliens, UFO's, abductions and all that. Personally I do believe in aliens. Simply because of the fact that I find it hard to believe that in our giant universe and with all the billions and trillions of stars and planets, human beings are suppose to be the only intelligent lifeforms in existence. As to what they look like, or what their intentions are I can't say for certain and it's a moot point. I'm certain there are a lot of hoaxes on the subjects and UFO's sightings that really can be explained by atmospheric phenomenon or other simple explanations, but then there are strange cases of alien abductions/sightings that are quite compelling. Recently I've been in interested in the "Astronaut Theory". Here's a simple overview.

    The Ancient Alien Astronauts Theory

Certain authors hypothesize that intelligent extraterrestrial beings called ancient astronauts or ancient aliens have visited Earth, and this contact is connected with the origins or development of human cultures, technologies, and religions. A common variant of the idea include proposals that deities from most, if not all, religions are actually extraterrestrials, and their technologies were taken as evidence of their divine status.

These proposals have been popularized, particularly in the latter half of the 20th century, by writers Erich von Däniken, Zecharia Sitchin, Robert K. G. Temple, and David Icke.

Do you believe? Or don't? Discuss.

  11. I loved the stories ever since my 3rd grade teacher read the 1st book during reading time in class. I pretty much went on to read/buy all the following books. The last movie I saw of the series in theaters was the 3rd movie. I've been so out of touch with the films i didn't realize till last night that the final movie was released over the weekend. I'm probably not going to see it, but it does feel weird to say the series has ended. It remains one my favorite books series.

  12. I was surprised it was Iha who wanted the band to dissolve,

thought it was Corgan all along.

I thought the same at first too. Also excited about this:

On April 26, 2011, Corgan announced via a video uploaded to the band's Facebook page that the band will record and release a new album titled Oceania, labeled as "an album within an album" in regards to the Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project, which will see the light around September.

A tentative track list has been posted via Corgan's Twitter account. Song titles and track order are "subject to change".

    Pale Horse

    Panopticon

    The Chimera

    Four Winds Chime

    Glissandra

    Inkless

    My Love is Winter

The Celestials (formerly titled Special K & Helios)

    Pinwheels

    Oceania

    Violet Rays

    Quasar

I'm curious to see what the album will sound like. Corgan's been doing a good job with the EP'S and I really liked songs like Tom, Tom, Freak U.S.A and Lightning. But I'm glad the bands doing an album since it will help unify the sound of the songs. Plus it'll get a phsyical release.

Lots of awesome stuff to be released in late summer/early fall
