You know what this is and you know what I'm about to get into.
 
And in case you don't, at the end of each year some of the staff members who have more music to talk about outside the scope of the staff list start their own list. Here, anything from anywhere can pop up. This is mainly for those adventurous people wondering about potential albums you may have missed, or people that come to see what my personal taste can best be summed up as. And if you didn't come here for either of those reasons, hopefully what I share doesn't bore you to death. Consider this my Christmas present to MH.

And since I'm always experimenting with the most concise way of sharing this information with you all, this year I'm grouping albums by "genre", or as close to genre as they all fit. I'm also going to make a directory so that you can skip straight to the stuff you care about. So, feel free to respond to anything in this topic. After digging around for a bit, and with the help of Linh, I've formulated a theory that they're breaking up because of money issues. Turn-A sounds like a last-ditch effort to re-record old A songs and then sell them to make some emergency cash. The low quality and poor reception of those CDs put the nail in the coffin for this band.
 
It's sad but VK is expensive and as much as I liked them they never got the push they needed to really make it.

Also Nimo, if you're lurking now would be the time to jump in. Tell us you're going to form a new band "B" or something. Anything pls.
 
EDIT: Also Linh makes another good point. They all die at the end of this music video. That supports my theory even more.

Is that Record of Lodoss War? Because if so, damn that looks good for a hand-drawn anime.

I started watching Initial D a few days ago. The story is alright (I'm two episodes in so can't judge) but the animation style is so dated that it makes it hard for me to get into it.

This show is also very guilty of mixing CGI and animation. It probably looked good at the time but now it just looks inconsistent and tacky as hell. Like this:

The later seasons look to be drawn better/have higher budgets so maybe this will go away. But it irks me because obviously this show hasn't aged well, but then I look at screenshots of ROLW and I wonder why more anime doesn't hold up that well. I wonder who the god was that sat down and put so much detail into every frame. Simply impeccable animation quality - you were not lying.

OK I've officially caught up. The first 2.5 episodes feel like a cheap SAO clone. Everything after that is when Log Horizon grows into it's own thing.

First, we independently assembled a list of albums we liked from this year. Each album counted as one vote, and we could each pick a handful of albums to have two votes if we really liked it and thought it deserved a place here. We tallied them up, and after some fudging and cleverness the 25 albums with the most weight made it onto the list. The albums are being reviewed in numerical order from least to most votes, and albums that have the same number of votes are reviewed in alphabetical order. The reviews are written by the staff member(s) that voted for them to be on the list (I just happen to write extra reviews if the mood strikes me). If only one staff member reviewed an album, that's because only one staff member voted for the album and it made it.
So yes, this is in order. It's just transparent to you guys.
