Tokage reacted to Peace Heavy mk II in Out of curiosity what are some examples of vk bands in the past, that much like dimli
I'm the 1% that think Dimlim sucks, same for 9goats + Deadman (they had two good songs).
D'espairsRay is pretty universally liked, except by Bear.
Phantasmagoria were mega popular, but I think the nostalgia was kind of tarnished by Kisaki's questionable business practices (1,000's of rereleases and revivals) + criminal behavior (tax evasion, alleged pedophile, etc).
Malice Mizer still has a very strong following, and the only people I've seen dislike them was that cunt Jrock NYC + someone with brain worms who saw them as a threat to Lycaon (????).
For what it's worth, I've literally never seen someone complain about the following:
Shazna, Baiser, Pierrot

no need to be sorry @Gesu! there's certainly a conversation to be had about this, I just wasn't gearing up to have one lol I was just looking at some rando bands' member skinny arms and a thought struck me.
ooook, so we're talking about this after all @Tokage. I can't really speak for vk cause I'm not really up to date on the industry inner workings, but if I were to assume that indie vk is like kpop trainees? totally believable that they literally sustain on ramen and cigarettes.
great, now you've both killed my buzz, thanks guys! ❤️

might legit be the case btw, i at least remember seeing stories floating around on tumblr about how some japanese actor from either one of the million kamen rider series, super sentai or one of those other 'dudes in rubber suits beating the shit out of each other' programs p much had to subside on water in order to make himself feel full cuz he couldnt afford regular meals, if that's already the case with tv show actors then it's deffo not out of the question for musicians either

it's obviously not fanmade, he's just cutting down the budget on graphic design by doing it himself

Tokage reacted to nekkichi in it's been quite a while now and i STILL dont get what Dir en grey were conceptually g
it looks like a Cernunnos invocation ritual (hexagram chair arrangement, forest backdrop, pinecones as a reference to a magic circle building in celtic traditions, horned god figure), but looking at the subsequent album's sales and its dubious longevity it probably didn't work out as intended if that was iT.

Nnnh, I see it as being about kundalini awakening with lining the chakras. The table represents the lotus flower and the seven chakras are the six chairs+the dome in the middle. Kyo being purple and thus the Sahasrara/crown Chakra and right across the table of him is the empty chair, which based on the colours on their backs and elimination should be in my opinion the red Muladhara/root/base Chakra. Which makes sense since from bottom to top you have red, orange, yellow, green (this is the dome in the middle of the table, Anahata/heart chakra), turquoise, blue to purple. The pinecones symbolising the third eye/the pineal gland.
The whole wearing human skin part being the human society. Appearances are more important than what we are inside. Our hearts are torn into pieces fitting into a mould that the society makes for us. We suppress who we are to follow rules that have been agreed upon to live in a supposedly dreamy reality of cooperation. Thus the MV referencing an awakening and breaking out of that mould to let our true selves out.
The 残響twelve in the lyrics fascinates me tho. I can't think of anything else than it representing the repeating 12 months of the year, doing the same things and being someone you're not over and over again year after year.
This is, of course, all speculation.
