Indeed, the label just didn't have that strong of a line up after Phantasmagoria tanked. He tried really hard to make Chariots successful, not sure what the fan support was like in Japan for Chariots but it was obviously with Western fans it wasn't the same like Phantasmagoria. I feel like the hype faded quite quickly after Vidoll, 12012 and Phantasmagoria (well, not exactly) left UCP. They were doing very well, playing in big venues and selling a good amount of copies for indie bands, then all of sudden they had to settle for the more underground scene and didn't quite get out of that. I also do agree with the statement that KISAKI signed way too many bands in a short period of time, and sadly none of those had any sort of "big" names to bring along any previous fans and start building on that. I think Lin incorporates all of this perfectly, from KISAKI sticking with Riku and some other lesser known names but failing to get as much attention as Phantasmagoria did.

I finally joined slsk/the room and damn this looks different. lol somehow I spent over 10 minutes trying to figure out how to share my stuff.

    oh, poor bands, right?

lol Now I get why all their smaller bands are releasing full albums all of sudden. If this were 2005 I would be shaking and crying, but eh. It would be interesting, though, it the next big VK band came from the dissolving of yet another of KISAKI's labels.

Even though I'm no longer a fan, DIR EN GREY. Listening to their early stuff (up until Withering to death.) or watching their concerts was such a weird and exciting experience. Gazette hasn't be able to even come close to doing something similar - probably won't ever.

LAREINE, no doubt. Besides the nostalgia factor, their music just sounds more... organic to me? I don't know. Versailles just never really did it for me the way LAREINE did with songs like GRAND PAIN, Kaze no yuuwaku, Je t'aime, Bara wa utsukushiku chiru and the entire Never Cage album. Also they had Mayu.

First I'd like to say that, although I'm not a fan or care that much about Gazette, I tried listening to this with an open mind. By the end of the first disc, however, all I could think about was "RENTRER EN SOI has already done this years ago, better and probably with half the production". There are some cool ideas, especially in 影踏み and 余韻, but in the end it just feels flat. The second disc is just a laughable and uninspired mess. DERANGEMENT actually is kind of cool, but the generic guitar riffing throughout the entire song just drags it down. Also how many things were they trying to put into REQUIRED MALFUCTION?

Martha Marcy May Marlene I spent the entire movie waiting for *something* to happen and but by the end it was all over the place. The plot was clear but there was so much that could've used just a little more explanation. Eh.

    CNBLUE - Come on
  11. saishuu

This was the last one I saw as well and I actually liked it. Well, not so much the first half of it, but by the end I was all excited and stuff. I do think though that the idea could've used a little more work.
  12. Nice to see Sae kept a very nice network within the scene after BABYLON's disbandment. And yeah, that's a great line-up indeed.
  13. First and last sample sound good. This bands looks odd as hell though: they sometimes sound like Merry, their vocalist resembles Ruki from Gazette, one of the guitarists looks a whole lot like Karin from NoGoD and their drummer looks like Yasuno from Kra.

    I'm ready for this.

I hope they go full-on the hare brained-unity route, except not being as repetitive. Hoping their stuff gets easier to find too. lol
  16. saishuu

It just strikes me as odd though, the other members carrying on a handshake event shortly (I assume) after the guy's passing. Anyway...

    Wasn't the concert cancelled though?

Truman Show is great indeed. I wasn't expecting it to be that good when I first watched it. Last one I watched was The Descent (second time). Cabin in the Woods and The Hunger Games are next.
  19. Oh damn, that's a lot of songs. It's been quite a while since I last listened to them, probably since the collaboration with Yumi Matsutoya, but I'll give this a shot once it's out.

    LOVING THIS.

The only major PSC bands that are on Sony are the GazettE and ViViD. SuG is on Pony Canyon, D=OUT and now SCREW are on Tokuma. Kra is like borderline major? Because they major debuted on King Records, but then they went back to releasing under PSC's Peace&Smile music. Alice Nine was in TOKUMA right? At least, they were in 2010 during Senkou and Stargazer: They were. And Tokuma sucks, so it's a good move for them.

Oh man, using slsk to find Japanese music was so much easier back in '03/'04. Definitely going to stop by the room.
  23. saishuu

Not feeling the song. Still looking forward to the single.
  24. Yup...thats weird. He always call himself "okama", but once i called him "okamayu" and he was kinda angry lol She'd probably be angry at you again for referring to her as "he" and "him".
