@ShanethVarosa, are their any previous albums I should check out? I don't mind the screams, I listen alot of heavy stuff
-
@ShanethVarosa, thanks for understanding 8D But I think that to people who ARE in to this is a really great song. I mean, I don't like Kaya at all and even I rated it above the 6 XD That says enough about how good it is.
-
Well what songs did you listen to?I recommend: ??? ??????? ? ?? ???? ???? ?? ??? ????-??- Okay, I'll give those a try.Only tried their latest album and their latest single (which was good though imo)
-
D: I love them for their great compositions, Asagi's amazing vocals, even though he looks like a slut recently (not that I mind XD) Versailles: I love almost every song by them. Awesome guitars, everything is great. the GazettE: For giving me the most beautiful song I will ever find: Chizuru <3 I have a special connection with this song, don't know what it is.

Upstairs on the old computer, I was watching some parody on Kingdom Hearts called "Kingdom Hearts Crazy Files." Suddenly there was playing Japanese music, and I kinda liked it. It were Asterisk by Orange Range and Redemption by Gackt. Loved the second one immediately. After that I heard some UVERworld too. First it were always anime themes until I discovered An Cafe. Liked that for quite a bit, but then I started getting into heavier bands. Don't listen An Cafe anymore. It's pretty much crap compared to what I listen now XD

Well at least they'll get a better singer. Aoi wasn't really the best one.

Wow, you're fast! I was planning to start the topic, but I see that won't be necessary. Also, I'm pretty new to NoGoD, the only song I've ever heard by them was Kakusei, and I really enjoyed that one. ?? - Just an intro, but a rather good one in my opinion, it also fits the track after that. 9/10 ?? - The screamo was okay, heard better. It's a good starter, and it's really growing on me throughout the song. Good solo also, but the drumming could've been a bit more creative in my opinion. Not a bad track at all. Dancho's voice (that's the guy's name right?) sounds really great in this song. 8.5/10 ?????? - The intro sounds really good! The first thing I noticed was the excellent drumming. Better than in the previous song in my opinion. Chorus is nicely sang, also with the background voices, though I have to say that it bores me only just a little. I think I'm starting to love NoGoD's guitarists, they are really good! Still there is one thing in this song that bores me a little, like I said before. Still a very decent track. 7.5/10. Ah f*ck that. 8/10 because the guitars are so utterly amazing. ????? - Heard this one before (saw the PV), and honestly said I didn't like the preview at all. After hearing the full version I liked it though. It's a kind of slower track, no ballad. Normally slower tracks have to be really good to impress me (when it comes to ballads I think nothing can beat Chizuru, Serenade and Utakata). It's also calms me down, what I also like in some tracks. Also, it's definite. The lead guitarist is now added to my list with favorites guitarists. 8/10 ???? - Another slower track, though slower than the previous one. The parts with only the vocals and the guitar is kind of boring to me, but when the other instruments set in it suddenly gets alot better. A part with only guitar and vocals can be really good, but you shouldn't make it as long as in this song. Actually I don't like the vocals throughout most of the song. Solo is amazing, once again. These guys know how to play guitar. It's not a horrible track, but nothing special. It could've been sung better, that's for sure (other notes for example). The ending is really good though, I love the backing vocals. 7/10 ?? - No intro, vocals start immediately. It's only 2:34. Not that it's a shame, the track isn't really standing out so far. The chorus kind of reminds me of Kakusei, which is a good song. But I think that it shouldn't have been longer than 2:34. It's good as it is. Don't really like the ending. 6.5/10 ????????????? - Wtf, that beginning really could've fit in a Phil Collins song XD. It's an instrumental track. Thank god. It would've been really boring and repetitive if this was another slow track. Personally I think this should've been an up-tempo instrumental track, it's not boring me. It sounds like an everlasting guitar solo in a ballad. It's OK I guess, not my favorite instrumental track. The extra half for the excellent guitar works. 7,5/10 ???? - I already liked this on the single version. What an amazingly good intro. This is definitely one of my favorites on this album. Great solo, great vocals, everything feels good. On the first listen I thought it was kind of boring because I thought 1 part was the chorus when it wasn't XD. Anyway, I have nothing more to say about it. 10/10 ????? - Don't really like the beginning riff. Though when you think the song really starts it doesn't, that really caught me off guard. It's kind of boring me, but I like it more after the chorus. Strong vocals, nice solo, once again. Great drums. Dancho's really singing the chorus with all his heart, it has alot of emotion in it. It's a really special song, I'll give you that. 8/10 II-?? - Nice guitar in the beginning. I guess this will be a heavier track? The little rapping sounded great. The guitar and synth (if I heard it right) sound really great too. It kind of reminds me of a song I heard before, though not sure which one. Oh man, why did it have to be such a slow and boring chorus while everything before was so good? And then it's up tempo again. Those are really the best parts. The guitar parts could've easily been played by Hizaki, if you couldn't keep the bands apart. I'm not saying Hizaki is the best Japanese guitarist, but he certainly comes close. Apart from the slow chorus: amazing track: 8.5/10 ?????????????? - This really could've been an anime ending theme in my opinion. It kind of reminds me of Matenrou Opera's Genesis and D's Hamon. Only less good. Up until now they made to many slow tracks, and the ones that weren't slow were either really good or just "meh". It's nothing special, I only listened half of it, it kind of bored me. The reason this one gets a 6 is because the solo saves it, though it is the worst solo on the album. 6/10 ?? - Decent. Kind of makes me happy. It's a good way to end the album after all the "slowness". It's a summer song, it makes me happy that I have holidays. 8/10. Overall: 8/10. This is a really good album, with some really good tracks on it. Too bad it's got too many slow tracks. But overall, a good album.

WTF?!! Coming from someone who listens to Kaya. So just because I like their music and I'm female you automatically assume I'm a fangirl? That's just dumb. There are also ViViD because they are good musicians. That's why I like them. I like ViViD because they are great musicians. True, I've never been into their b-sides until PRECIOUS, and Shin's voice CAN be a bit annoying sometimes, but he's still waaaaaaay better than Kiryu's singer. Even Byou from SCREW sings better than him. Also, people assuming that people like them because of their looks is just bullshit. The only one who looks at least a bit handsome is Shin, the rest isn't very handsome to be honest. Besides, they are signed to one of the best record companies, PSC. You can say all you want, but PSC really has some of the best bands (and one of the worst, I regret: SCREW) BUTTHURT DETECTED.Perhaps I am , but not because someone is bashing a band I like. It's mainly because they assume I like ViViD because of their looks, and not their music. That's what makes me angry. Oh, just because I'm 17 and a girl I only like bands who look good. Bands with ugly members are not in my playlist. Yeah right. That's what one of my old friends would say. Note, ex-friend.Honestly? You came into a thread titled "Official Music Hate Thread" where the first rule as stated by o hai itz will was: There's no reason to act butthurt, especially when you enter into a thread specifically tailored for bashing bands and artists people don't like. What made you think your bands were exempt? Get over it, it's the Internet. Stop taking everything so seriously and you'll last a lot longer. Then I'll stay away from this topic. I'm not a weeabo, let's make that clear. Something on-topic: weeabo's. That's what annoys me too. I had a friend who's a weeabo. The worst part is that they call everything "kawaii" During the Versailles concert Kamijo asked who could speak Japanese, and he let the audience talk. I was standing there thinking: I'll fling at the neck of the first person who says kawaii. Seriously. Also I agree with the one who said that Hizaki is feeling he's the king of guitar players. He's not. I prefer Teru.

Awilda - I didn't think it was really special, wasn't doing it for me. Though it was better than everything Kaya has ever released. I also thought the intro sounded like something you would find in Kingdom Hearts. That's a good thing for me. 6,5/10 Sink - Don't remember at all how it sounded after 2 listens. 6/10 Overall: I should stop trying Kaya. It's not my style. Don't want to offend anyone with this review, I'm just someone who tries alot of artists and bands and then immediately reviews.

What is "American metal"? That, to me at least, seems like another retarded label like "j-rock" that does little to describe the type of music being played. Because if you actually listened to metal music put out by American bands, you would soon realize that THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT ALL PLAY THE SAME TYPE OF MUSIC. Just go on freaking wikipedia and type metal and look for the page that lists all of metal's sub-genres. You see those labels ACTUALLY DESCRIBE THE MUSIC. I'm sick and tired of this type of petty ignorance. Also, how old are you? Do you honestly believe that a band can get signed to any label whenever they want to? In order for Japanese bands to sign contracts with global distributors in order to distribute their music internationally, the company or label has to see that a sizable amount of profits can be made. And while bands often have large fanbases outside of their native country, many times they are not substantial enough to prove for their product to be commercially viable. And even then, most fans won't buy the product. Bands go years without ever getting signed and you honestly think it is easy to get signed? Do some research before you make an ass out of yourself. Also, music is subjective and constantly using superlatives to define how "bad" an album is not only stupid because everyone has a different opinion and therefore your one opinion cannot be heralded as fact, but also because using the phrase "worst album the world has ever known" implys that you have listened to every album that has ever been conceived in the history of this Earth. Learn to not make an ass out of yourself on the internet. Gawd. I'll let you know that I listen alot of American music, and that I can definitely say that Dir en grey sounds more like American style now. There is a big difference between American en Japanese rock, and Dir en grey sounds American too me.I'm not retarded, ofcourse I know they can't get signed wherever they want. And about if it's selling enough, that's just shit. There are a lot of shitty bands signed to European lables and they sell like crap. Believe me, I know, I go to this big music store every week, and just for the curiosity I asked one of the salesmen how long those Japanese albums (by SCREW) had been standing there. They hadn't sold a SCREW album in 10 months. Just so. And exactly, me saying that it is the worst album is MY OPINION. You don't have to go bitch to me about it. I didn't go bitching on you because of your opinion on Dir en grey. This is actually a topic about bashing eachother's opinions, nothing more, nothing less.

I hate Dir en grey for turning American Metal style. Really, I don't like it. I hate SCREW for having such an awful vocalist. They should really kick him out. I hate Kiryu for having such awful songs they make my ears bleed. I dislike X Japan for feasting of Hide's success and trying to make a comeback. It's not happening. I hate alot of bands for not releasing their stuff in Europe/America. Really, I would really like to buy the albums, and I have the money for it (even to order it from Japan), but I've the problem of "the parents." Asagi, I would buy ALL YOUR CD'S. Just freaking sign to CLJ or something. I hate 12012 for making the worst album the world has ever known. MAR MAROON. That's about it. Really needed to get out my frustrations.

Heavier rock I suppose. Bands like Linkin Park (their old stuff), Red, Skillet etc.

I suggest an extra Scans part, just for magazine scans. Cure, SHOXX, ZY etc. Just a suggestion, because getting the latest scans is pretty hard.

It's okay, I guess. It didn't grab my interest immediately, but it really grew on me after a few listens. It's kind of annoying when a heavier band (like DELUHI) makes a poppish song/release like Departure, and people keep nagging: IT'S TOO POPPISH WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM BOOOO, when it's just 1 release. I'm sure on their next release their will be enough heavy stuff. And don't make me start about those IT'S NOT HEAVY SO IT'S NOT GOOD people. I think Departure was rather enjoyable. 12012 could learn from DELUHI how to make poppish songs right. I give it an 8/10 Overall rating of the single campaign: 1. Frontier 2. Departure 3. the farthest (which I found absolutely horrible)

Really late review but I was bored XD PRECIOUS - Didn't really get my attention when I heard the preview, but after hearing the full version I've got to say it's a really enjoyable song. The chorus is really catchy, and Reno and Ryouga's solo's keep getting better, though it's a bit short. IV's bass playing was really good in this song too, he's really improving! (@ arya92, Ko-ki is the drummer , not the bass, sorry for nagging about such a detail ) I give the title track 8,5/10. Bright red garden - A jazzy song! I've always had a weakness for jazzy VK-songs, unless they don't do it right (fears Lycaon's EROS). ViViD, however, does it right. It's really, REALLY catchy and it wants me to get on my feet and dance to it. Once again, the bass is really good. Good solo, Shin's voice sounds great here! 9.5/10 survive - This caught my attention when I heard the previews, but honestly, I didn't think the full song was that impressive. I like it when ViViD's choruses are up-tempo, Shin sings too long on one sentence, it's really annoying sometimes. Nothing spectacular, it was OK, but that's it. 7/10 ???????? - This was my favorite when I heard the preview, and still one of the favs on the single. Really good intro, but when the chorus kicks in I was kind of worried, fearing it would be like 'survive'. Luckily it didn't, and this is certainly a song I'll be listening for a long time. 9/10 Overall: 8/10. Once again, a really good release by ViViD. I never really cared much for their B-sides (they never were really good in my opinion, I so far only liked the title tracks), but on PRECIOUS they made some really good B-sides. Shin's vocals are improving, just like IV's bass playing. I'm looking forward to their next single, or maybe their next album. I think they should release one soon. They have had 4 singles and 1 mini-album, so I hope PSC decides they will finally get their first album.
