@Seimeisen Those look nice! I love the idea of a dual cover for Division. There was recently a vinyl release for Castlevania Rondo of Blood's soundtrack and the label who pressed it used that idea. The obi (not pictured) is also double sided:

That Dim concept sounds freaking sleeek. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. And those other concepts sound really great too 🔥

^ I would buy that. I don't even really like that mini and I would buy it!

I come up with a lot of vinyl ideas in my head, but I never make mockups because they will probably never happen so why bother I have poor photoshop skills #graphicdesignismypassion

But speaking of the GazettE, I did come up with a vinyl mockup for DIVISION:

Side B, FRAGMENT [ARTERY] ~ black on white                Side A, FRAGMENT [VEIN] ~ white on black

Single vinyl, limited edition tracklist, one side of the cover appears upside down so you see one cover, flip it over, and get another cover. There'd just be one sticker on each side of the shrink-wrap with the barcode, label logo, etc. so there's no obvious back cover.

I am very impressed in my ability to get all those lyrics onto a single sheet and still leave room to eventually put the credits

Random ideas I haven't visually conceptualised (yet?):

It can be quite intimidating, yeah.

If this helps, here's a little breakdown of their post-2000 albums so you can get a general feel:
     - ONE LIFE, ONE DEATH (2000): dads discover science fiction
     - 極東 I LOVE YOU (2002): dads discover science fiction but with layers*
     - MONA LISA OVERDRIVE (2003): dads discover cyberpunk*
     - 十三階は月光 (2005): dads dress up for Halloween and drink a bit too much but it goes much better than expected
     - 天使のリボルバー (2007): dads being dads
     - memento mori (2009): dads being dads but more rad, how do you do, fellow kids?
     - RAZZLE DAZZLE (2010): dads stumble into a disco, drink a bit too much but this time it does not go well
     - 夢見る宇宙 (2012): dads being dads who took their medication
     - 或いはアナーキー (2014): dads could not find their medication... hilarious results!
     - アトム未来派 No. 9 (2016): I could not find the dads but this background music is kinda okay
     - No. 0 (2018): dads have become cyborgs, I have become a dad while listening, feels weird man

    * originally these two albums were imagined by the band as one concept double-album

My personal recommendations would be MONA LISA OVERDRIVE, 十三階は月光 and 或いはアナーキー btw.

I've been hella sleeping on this band since I got into visual kei. I'm trying to change it, though. For a few years now, I've had some of their newer albums sitting on my hard drive, but never really listened to them. I've previewed them, it's why I downloaded them, but I just never made them a priority. And despite all of that, I just had to go on a download spree and get MORE. And now I have CATALOGUE 87-99 ('cause I'm not sure if I'll like their early sound) and every album released since 2000. So now I'm trying to think of how I want to go into this, because there is so much here.

I previewed some tracks from albums since 13階は月光. I'm kinda digging what I hear. The only album I'm not so sure of is "memento mori;" I previewed songs off that album and it kinda gave "dad rock" vibes, which I'm not into.

Of course I would download 11 albums and a 40+ song compilation from a band of which I've only heard three songs in full. Of course.

CD / VINYL / CASSETTE TAPE / ETC. MOCK UP THREAD

Japan releases a ton of music on CDs, but they don't really press things on other mediums like vinyl and cassette tapes. Especially in the visual kei field, you'd be hard pressed to find anything in these mediums. And, anything you do find on vinyl or cassette is usually extremely rare and expensive. One can always dream though of seeing your favorite Japanese music on a fancy colored vinyl or a weird retro medium like a floppy disc.

That's why I thought it'd be fun to start a thread where people can upload their own mockups of releases they'd like to see on other physical formats. I'll kick it off with one I've been thinking about for a few days now.

Well, with BUCK-TICK, it all depends on your taste...
If you like poppy post-punk type of music, then I suggest HURRY UP MODE, SEVENTH HEAVEN,
if you're looking for a bit more experimental/darker, then Kurutta taiyou, Six/Nine,
for some modern-sounding pop-rock, Mona Lisa OVERDRIVE will do,
or if you like elaborate goth-rock concepts, then 13kai wa gekkou is your bet.

As for deadman, they don't have as many stuff, and weren't active for as long, so you can't really go wrong with any of their releases. For a more aggressive-dark sound try No Alternative, or for a softer-dark style give in the direction of sunrise and night light a try. You can also start with the mini albums SiteOfScaffold and 701125 (or 701125+2, the extended edition).

Checked out the new mini album, and suddenly I realized I haven't listened to a full DIAURA release in over 4 years... wow.

Anyway, I found it to be very mediocre, middle-of-the-road and boring for the most part, but maybe my expectations were higher than they should have been after hearing the PV track. The music was well-made but I was kinda struggling with how little emotion it evoked in me. I did like "断頭台から愛を込めて" and "[dignity]" but other than these two it was really hard to keep paying attention to the music it was so meh. It was kinda evenly okay-ish, with "ヘルグライド" being the low point for me, but then after that they redeemed themselves somewhat.

I now remember why I haven't been following these guys more closely, heh.
