My name actually comes from 2 things, when i was 11 i saw the anime shuffle, and in the MSN phase i chosen the name of the main protagonist Rin, and it stuck, bc everybody is calling me that, on the other hand i love owls and plastic tree, and the name comes from their song, Fukurou, so i combined it later, aaaaaaand i have it for a long time.

To be honest, after talking to vocalists, I know that is exactly what many do. I tell them "don't do that. It's so bad" but short of translating for them it won't get any better.

Anyway, I'm indifferent towards Engrish in songs tbh. Sometimes it's just really fun and sometimes it just makes you want to facepalm. And of course sometimes it's refreshing when a band rarely has any at all.

But simply put I don't particularly mind it.
(edit: speaking of engrish lol at my original typo.)

I think Engrish is kind of luck the uncanny valley for me. It's fine if it is so bad I can barely recognize it as English, and it's fine if it is clear and understandable, but that middle ground where it sounds like they are trying so hard and failing miserably is the part that drives me nuts.

I have a kind of conflicting relationship with Engrish lyrics, so I chose "nice to hear from time to time." Somehow when VK bands do it it's so hilarious, and I always love to look up whether a song has any Engrish in it, cuz it somehow adds to the charm (and you can find some ridiculous linguistic mindfucks, lol). In more 'serious' sounding music like metalcore, however, I tolerate it less. I guess because the pronounciation itself can be a bit more intelligible, so I hear the horrible grammar and phrasing even if I didn't want to, haha. Also their lyrics tend to be 100% in English, and not just a handful of songs or song-bites.

Stuck between options four and five, but ultimately, I'd prefer to hear Japanese people singing in Japanese, unless they're actually good at speaking English. There are times when you can't really tell that it's Engrish and not English (you can easily hear RUKI singing "all I want is your face" when he's actually singing "oh, I want to the your face"), and I'm just so used to hearing stuff like "JISSS IZZU" that I shrug it off.
I'm very used to hearing Engrish that it doesn't always ruin the song for me, but I do think Japanese singers' voices sound better when they're singing in Japanese, for example, RUKI. I love his voice...... when he's singing Japanese; when he's trying to sing in English (increasingly as the years go by), it just sounds... a little weird to me.
It's also why I've been avoiding Japanese metalcore. Most of it is in Engrish. There seems to be an extremely low level of Japanese core and metal with Japanese vocals. What is this?!

I don't pay much attention to it unless it's sung in Engrish an entire song. lol
Sometimes Engrish could ruin a masterpiece.

Do I sound weird if I say... none? Sex for me is about doing something intimate with someone you have intimate feelings for, not jumping on top of the next moving object, thrusting to completion, and changing the playlist.

I haven't read every post in this thread but for everybody who has problems with the Scrobbler not launching with iTunes 12.1, install this version and everything should be back to normal - it worked for me (Win7 Professional x64, Scrobbler 2.1.36).

When using a Mac you actually have a couple of nice alternatives, one of them being Melo. I use this on my Macbook, it's a slim, trimmed Scrobbler that does what it's meant to do: scrobble. You can check it out here:

That's all the app shows btw.

Having said that, I really enjoy last.fm for what most of the previous users already mentioned: personal charts and discovering new music. For these two purposes, last.fm is and has always been great, so I hope it won't die or get messed up even more any time soon.

I used to romanize my filenames while keeping the tags kanji/kana. But at some point I just stopped bothering and left the filenames in kanji too when I got them that way. Now only my folders which carry the artist names are romanized because even after 10+ years of studying Japanese, the japanese ordering system of kana and kanji (specifically the latter) still weirds me out.

Before I started last.fm I had messy tags and a lot of wrong information. I'm glad my life is more in order now, even if it means I have to butcher some things with unicode or extra spaces so I can have a perfectly cross-dressed library without having to share pages with nerds.

The start of me organizing music actually began with the use of slsk, but I started using last.fm shortly after and that definitely ensured that my tags stayed intact. Though when I became a trader on utatane (Japanese p2p), that's when I got REALLY strict about organizing/tagging and basically became more anal than a power bottom.

And then repeating ILLUSION, marionette, and 君を壊すガラスの衝動 a few times after.
