I was at my grandma's today and my brother brought up Margaret Hamilton, the woman who wrote the code that got us on the moon. My grandma said she'd hate to be that brainy because she'd see it as too heavy a burden, so I said I'd like it as long as I didn't have that kind of job. She asked me what the point in being that smart was if I wasn't going to do anything with it, so I said with more confidence than I have ever said anything before:
"So I can tell people when they're wrong and mean it."
I think bitterness might run in my family.
