You're doing it for the wrong reasons then. Realising things like that in the way you're describing is just a part of growing up imo. Of course "geeky" stuff like obsessing over music or anime won't be enough to fulfill you. But that doesn't mean that it's "worthless". You'll have to transgress the thought that all this stuff makes up who you are, that's not a helpful perspective. But the fact that these things are a part of your life in the way they are is actually interesting and says a lot about you.

me too! I was just saying the other day how these two have the potential to be some of the best VK releases of the first half of the year.

Love the 'Smile Ichiban Ii Onna' song from An Cafe especially the Bou version. That music video is cute. Maple Gunman is great, too. So many good songs from them. Anyways, both are great bands ^^

Actually, all the best visual kei is made between 2079 and 2119. The addition of Tibetan Throat Screaming and Post-orgasmoclavier Dronestep really made the genre. Everything else will be shit.

Oh man, same. I still listen to Smile Ichiban Ii Onna when I'm sad, it just has a way of making me instantly happy. They were such a big band at the time they were a thing, I was super into them. 

Agreed! Really love a lot of early Ayabie songs. Japanese Low-res caramel town is one of my personal favorites as it was the first song I discovered by them. I also like seeing the traditional Japanese aesthetics in that song. Glitter Tropen is another enjoyable track by them. 

Ayabie was hot stuff when a lot of us initially entered VK circa 2007-9.
I used to listen to them a lot, and also watch a lot of their live shows.
Today, ten years later, most of their stuff suffers a lot from Ryohei and Aoi's terrible skills at playing guitar and singing respectively (if you can call that "skills" lol), so it's so barely listeneable to the point where I wonder why it happened that they became so famous, both in the Japanese and western fandom...
Although, Daikei will always be a true gem. It sounds very genuine and well-done still today. Never heard something alike before and after. A very interesting tune along Gothic Party Speed Session and Japanese Low-res caramel town.

I basically grew up having Kagrra, as my favorite band and Isshi as the vocalist I looked up to the most. I always remember him every July and everytime I listen to his music. I really wish he were still alive, but I hope his memory lives on.

Same here. He was an amazing singer who wrote thought-provoking lyrics. Will forever miss him and his talents.
