*A-string I'd been more convinced if they did all in E though.

    1997 2007 main riff + build + beat + pre-chorus/bridge Lol. Uruha tho http://tower.jp/article/feature/2011/12/21/b177-ooty2011-1/b177_02

Gazette has been stanning Slipknot for over a decade and it's not really a secret tbh, see: Maximum Impulse's intro, Discharge, Maggots, Ogre, Before I Decay, Vortex (they even referenced one of Iowa tracks there)...etc.

Most music enthusiasts and even casual listeners are more likely to pinpoint their favorite albums from artists' "first steps" - like you'd normally seeing someone e.g. placing Despa's debut on a pedestal and getting zealous over it and etc. But are there any best bits that came out from artists after many years - or even decades of experience? List a few - or many (if you want) fav albums of your fav artists when their experience spanned for a long time. Example: Feel free to mention your fav late-career albums!

It's been a while Erin, hi! Speaking of "nu disco"/something along the lines of artists/genres you pointed out, did you mean something in the vein of this? (open the spoiler)

They should just ditch clean vocals for once and try to go with the same mood throughout the song (in case they are so willing to whack A# dundundundun's)...sure, it might be *the thing* in their metalcore hassles but dear god - is anyone even criticizing Ruki's (late)* flat, almost predictable sense of verse/chorus melodies? God knows if he happens to rehash that Untitled chorus again, lel. *and to think that this guy did "Hyena" or something akin to that back in the day (catchy, memorable, non-overused stuff!)

We could apply this to all those trending (MINUS occasional "art kei" acts) vk acts and tie-in rock bands (Orange Range and whatnot) these days. No seriously, are there any post-05 visual kei songs with *unusual builds*? e.g. back in the 90s Luna Sea had a few songs which lacked pre-choruses (necessary for pop songs!) almost completely - as in songs like "Storm" for instance.

Highly doubting that - at least if we look at how minimal is Aoi's role in terms of Gazette's songwriting lately: Ruki writes most of their stuff - be it the fact that he lets the band filter one or two "non-Ruki" songs into the album, e.g. some BD exceptions. A real shame though, since Ruki too has a bit of "extravagant" taste unlike his fellow vk sophomores (fun fact: Ruki seems to be quite an avid trip hop/IDM enthusiast btw*, especially if we note the fact that he enjoys Massive Attack, Tricky, The Broken Note...), which on the other hand won't sit well with other members in case the band *WOULD HAVE BEEN* ready to open up a bit more on their current influences (aside from being "Slipknot/Luna Sea hybrid" as 2ch metalheads would call them). Also, speaking of Reita: he might lack technique even now, but I have always adored the way he works his bass tune up (dat treble) and uses it in order to channel some very simplistic, but at the same time very dynamic basslines (e.g. Baretta or SHIVER from newer repertoire). *source: just go and scroll through his twitter and instagram + see if you can spot a few "song of the day"'s from him PS. How come everyone forgets this Reita gem?!!!

For optimist minds: https://www.change.org/p/cbs-interactive-bring-old-last-fm-back?recruiter=41907660&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink (petition...) Who knows if they manage to get their wits but as I said above, CBS are nothing more but a bunch of bureaucrats who don't take much from your feedback anyway (and this is not your everyday "hurr anarchy"-kind of thought, I tell you)
  10. Pretsy

inb4 people are gonna infest yet much more inferior (compared to pre-Beta craze last.fm) but currently much handier libre.fm, lol. A real shame that this downward spiral of feedbacks won't do much to get through their CBS-biased decisions (no seriously, did they even showcase us results of pos/negs towards the beta phase? No)

Myspace comes to my mind when I see this trainwreck happening...
  12. Pretsy

What I'd like to see happening: Female Vocalist p.2 Bossa Nova /Lounge Music (this wont' really attract bunches but eh) International I suppose the 3rd one would be the best option for *everyone*, eh? (or did you guys have one already?)

    Dotama's Fragment-produced song is up! Cool~
  14. ^ that's what I have wondered too for a long time since "getting back" into Ling thru TK's solo activities (aside from I'mperfect having a few decent numbers but that's all I guess). Made me also think that WHY exactly his "solo career" was needed if HE is the one who almost exclusively (90%, the other 10% comes through Pierre and Miyoko's advising/sessions I suppose) pens/penned the whole Ling repertoire? He would have saved a good amount of those experimental warbles for later Ling ventures, e.g. "Contrast" would have been a very good single-song from Ling

This might interest @beni: Superfly and Salyu covering one of the most known U2 songs (GLAY and Utada Hikaru have covered this song too) Shiina Ringo and Utada Hikaru covering Carpenters' "I Won´t Last a Day Without You" original Also, you should never forget the best J-cover ever: (they even did this to promote the song, notice the reference )

^ I like how such petty hullabaloos, incl. MSM here getting mad crazy over some poorly racist FB post (and various random news concerning "hurr Sweden immigrant mayhem*"), are not doing much when it comes to prioritizing various, much more SEVERE issues around Nordic countries atm (then again, do I even expect the instagram generation here to realize what exactly is e.g. "a huge nosedive into deeper pits of recession w/ impossibly humongous amounts of debt"? I kinda feel bad seeing as e.g. France already realized this in their case) *let's rejoice, our abrasive M-E politicking circa ~late 80s - now~ has led us to this circus, woo! (inb4 "you don't know your shit") /rantmode/
  17. If this was Robin's solo instead, it'd been a lot more Radiohead-y than anything late Downy-ish - but it's Yutaka now so idk what to expect, intriguing!

Kyary was supposed to channel Nakata's inner "I want to do shibuya kei again pls"-ambitions, so why would he run out of ideas that fast? I think the other affecting factor (I left it unmentioned seeing as it'd be very obvious) would be his hipster desires - willing to go further into new, "cool" fads - and attempt to churn out a similar, yet very poor carbon version as a result (WAVE RUNNER might have been a decent listen but defo not holding a candle to his fellow banger DJs a la TeddyLoid for instance). Also, count those yen-tastic tie-ins in too (commercials, dramas, Doraemon movies) and you have an artist stripping themselves out of every ounce of originality time by time, a.k.a Nakata. Why should I feel pity for him being the "poor Mother Goose of J-electro" that struggles to feed their hungry dolltastic children? His own effing fault, period. Also, not really related to this topic but SNO's Fukase is one cryptic wacko o_o

    1) Dir en grey pulling off DSS again might not be the good case of comparison (seeing as they are still on that route but I am not gonna discuss that any further, off-topic mayhem!) 2) If we interpreted points of your (current, everyday) sour Gazette fan a bit differently, "progressive" doesn't have to be always about them adopting the whole new soundscape or taking a leaf or two out of their own DIM books (as in a sense of creating "another concept album"): "Evolution" that they try to reflect through various means of showcasing their "hard labour" proved out to be quite flimsy - as it was said above, all they did was refining their "technical finesse" a bit (my note: as it was mentioned earlier, arrangements have taken one heck of a nosedive to the point where it's way far off from "finesse") w/ "improved" lyricism (the jury is still out on whether his vastly improved English manages to shed a new light on their current ventures...naw). It's not that hard to keep that "good ol' Gazette" flame burning and introduce a couple of new major aspects in their sound at the same time - just look at their idols, Luna Sea, as a case in point! (embracing their "casual-friendly" prog/pop direction while at the same time keeping their "essential soul" alive through the means of keeping their singles' frills intact) TL;DR recap: Along with this whole "do another DIM" garbage, I find you guys and your absurd standards of "annually churned out "good ol' Gazette "album being totes okay thing" to be something really unsettling. Changes don't have to be radical, yes - but how exactly did Gazette "change"? Are they even synonymous with this term, "change"? Really hope these "oooh Uruha and Aoi had some bom-chicka-wow-wow amps and phat axes effing my speakers up with some naaaasty riffwork"-aficionados could shed a better light on how exactly did they "grow" after TOXIC (seeing as this exact record, aside from lame non-singles, had potential in showcasing the "Recochoku-friendly" sound once in a while...just like any other self-respecting act tbh). Also, handshake event? Are they fricking AKB now? LOL.

    Babymetal phenomenon is doing wonders...(disasters)
