must be the others want him to get better
i remember him talking about having anorexia and not caring about it, so im sure instead of him caring about his own problems, he cares more about the problems it causes to others

One way or the other, I hope he is working on getting better.

I can relate to caring more about the problems it causes others, too.

  2. Hey everyone, some of you might recognise me from around here but I haven't really been overly active so I thought I'd reintroduce myself and try and become more active :)

I really like Mejibray, DADAROMA, the GazettE, GRIMOIRE, and DIMLIM right now, and I'm always on the lookout for more new exciting music :D

What are some recommended threads to follow and post in to get me around the forums a bit?

Also, is there a way to change my display name?

  3. Not overly surprised by Issei's departure, and I don't really care about that, however I'm shocked by Tsubasa also leaving.

Like other people have said, I think DIMLIM can move on from this and become an even better band. And if not, I really hope Sho is able to find a band where his talents continue to truly shine.

Tsubasa was a good bassist, I hope i see him in the future in a another band.

All songs are composed by Issei. Who is composing the songs now?

Ryuya did compose track 4 (MASSACRE) from the ltd edition of VARIOUS. If he is able to keep up that level of composition, as well as improve over time, I think they could release some more really good tracks. Of course, that's assuming he composed that song all by himself, which I am not sure is the case.

My Japanese isn't that great either, but from I understand rynk plays a child that lives in a fantasy world with his imaginary friends. Hence why he wears that band around his eyes, maybe the reason he doesn't talk extensively.  I don't know what this "let's gather the fruits of faith" (I'm pretty sure I got that sentence wrong lol)  stuff is about.

It'd be great if someone with more info could add to this. Also, I love the idea for the new single. These guys always have such tight ideas for concepts.

That's what I understand as well; Rynk plays a child, and the other members are all friends he imagined up.

This is a quick translation of the band's bio webpage (http://gri-moire.com/biography/):

    - The Four shadows of light -

    - They are “My” creation -

    - It is an illusionary reality -

    - This is “My” story -

    - You are seeing “My” dream -

So I think the covering his eyes represents that every thing around him is not real, and is part of his dream.

As for the "Let us eat the fruits of fate", I think it's a reference to the metaphorical nature of fruit in Christianity. Fate is a predetermined outcome dictated by an omniscient force (such as God), so perhaps eating the fruits of fate would allow one to change their fate - which I think would fit into the boy creating his own reality in a dream. I'm really not sure about the relation between fruits and the bible though, so I could be way off with my interpretation.

Also I doubt they themselves really know what that sentence means lol

  5. GRIMOIRE are releasing a new single on December 13th!

(Uranometria) - named for the first ever atlas to record the entire celestial sphere.

(Castor) ver. has two tracks (1. すいそうのうみ) and a music vid for the title track: 1,800 yen.

(Pollux) ver. has three tracks (1+2 same as other ver. 3.

Castor and Pollux are the names of the twins who were eventually transformed into the constellation Gemini, which makes for a cool celestial theme to the single.

They'll also depart on a three stop tour following the release, performing in Osaka on the 16th, Nagoya on the 17th, and Tokyo on the 26th.

  6. The CDs arrived today! Anyone else got theirs yet?

I'm really liking this single! I've already had time to get accustomed to the title tracks, but I still really love them. Especially ii kusuri.

Alice in Underground is a pretty cool song, and I really like the breakdown section.

Nikki is a pretty solid rock song with a pretty basic formula which actually works pretty well for them. It's kinda nice to see that Tomo had a part in the lyrics for this track as well.

Definitely a single that lived up to the hype for me, and I'm super excited to see where Dadaroma head next musically, and how much more Yoshi can improve on vocals :D

  7. I don't know how I feel about this.

I'm really disappointed in the way Issei has acted; it's completely disgusting. However, I really want to support DIMLIM. But I don't know if I can, being that Issei is the leader - and thus, kind of the face - of the band.

DIMLIM are, for me personally, a really refreshing band and I really want to see what they can do. So I'm quite conflicted about this whole debacle.

  8. It might be a baseless rumour, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like this did happen.

I don't personally have any experience with BPD, but mental health conditions can be extremely debilitating. There is no rhyme or reason.

Maybe something happened, or maybe things have been happening for a while, and Tzk wants to get better. Or maybe the others want him to get better.

If all he wants to do is perform and someone says he should stop for a while, it is very feasible that he could have lashed out.

I am very worried for Tzk though, I really hope he gets better and they can all work through whatever has caused this hiatus.

First song is meh. Second song reminded me of ame no waltz. They really are cranking out lots of music...i think they need to slow it down a little before they run into the same problems mejibray were getting into.

Where do you get the ame no waltz vibes from? I'm getting Belka to Strelka, and Buriki I think.

also I don't think they're near Mejibray's level just yet lol

I personally really enjoyed their latest releases, but I don't want them to burn out from too many consecutive releases.

  10. Spoiler

    Those are the kanji lyrics.

I'm currently working on a translation, and I will post it when I am finished :)

  11. Not a D.I.D fan (don't dislike them, just never really heard them), but I really like DIMLIM so far. The mini-album is actually one of my favourite purchases this year.

The music production could probably be a bit better, but I kinda like the roughness of it; it goes well with the composition and Sho's vocals.

And OMG Sho's vocals... They're so good!! I first heard アハレワタ, and was intrigued by the screams. I put it on the back burner though, until I heard 「初潮」 and decided I NEEDED to get the mini album :D

I still need to get the limited edition version of the mini-album for the extra songs, but so far my favourites are THE INVISIBLE and 浄土の花.

  12. I'm really liking both of these songs. Especially ii kusuri's refrain/chorus.

I felt the MV for warui kusuri (the white song) was a bit bland though. Yoshiatsu's vocals were exactly on point though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel a lot of people think of 溺れる魚 and 雨のワルツ type of songs with Dadaroma, but they have been experimenting with other sounds from the beginning; especially with their jazzy songs. There are still hints (sometimes very big hints) of deathcore in their latest releases, so I actually think they are going very strong. IMHO, they're getting better.

  13. I don't think I'd be actively listening to music at all if I never got into J-Rock. I used to listen to death metal and -core genres a lot so that influences what I like now, but I never really got into the metal scene like I have with VK so I'd probably just be listening to whatever was on the radio. I was admittedly pretty narrow-minded about music when I was younger, so I'd probably also be complaining about all the pop songs but now I don't really mind them because I know what it's like to have people be dismissive of music you like xD

  14. I'm really loving the sound of ii kusuri, especially that refrain <3

Warui kusuri sounds interesting; well composed, and Yoshiatsu's voice is very beautiful :D

Alice sounds okay, kinda like chotto okashina ren'aikan from Pornograph, which I enjoyed for a while but got kinda got boring, and the nikki song has potential to grow on me I think.

I really like ii kusuri's dark horror look, but the pure and white look for warui kusuri isn't doing much for me

  15. Yo guys!

Been into JRock/VK for a while now, but recently been getting more immersed.

However I have no friends with which to share my excitement so I hope to find some here!!

My favourite bands are the GazettE, Mejibray, and Dadaroma.

Currently I'm listening to DIMLIM, and liking what I hear :D
