It's not for me, but that's because I'm not into pop music so whatever. I know that some people get really crazy about these k-pop groups. I don't condemn them, It's their choice to listen to this kind of music. I don't know, for me all those groups sound a bit boring, but some of the guys can sing really well. I wonder how they would sound in a rock band? That would be interesting for me.

attempt suicide by das:vasser
maybe Jakou by Laputa
also many songs by deadman like additional cause for sorrow... I don't know, I can think of a thousand songs that can sound 'sad' but it's a hard thing to recommend because what is sad/depressing for me maybe will not work for you, anyway there's also 'Sad Songs' by JILS

THAT BASS. Like La'Feerie, they released just one EP, appeared on few omnibuses and disbanded. All of their song are amazing, have progression and have the old school sound of visual bands that I love.
Probably the best band that wasn't on a big label. Man, the arrangements, progression and song structure are so unique. Probably the best visual band that went nowhere, sadly.
Visual metal at it finest. Their early releases were far better than their second album (tbh, I dig some of the songs there, like 'Sad Song'). Apparently, they disbanded somewhere in the late 90's, which is a shame, because the X-Japan/Blind Guardian + Visual Metal combination was really good and well received, as far as I know.
The 7-seven- version of the song is also good, but I prefer the original. This has that old school sound to it. =D
Fine, mad, fast and trashing visual metal. Can't believe they went nowhere, just like L'yse:nore. For fans of Antique Doll, Ezra and Fast Draw.
Call me crazy, but this seems like the obscurest band I ever listened to. I absolutely don't know anything about this project/band. I also think this is their only recorded song? Anyhow, 'Stalker' really fits on the omnibus, and is a personal highlight of mine.
Edgy Visual metal #2. The drummer Reo, played in +Sadist+ which I also love.
I probably missed some bands. lol
These are some of my favorite old bands too lol I don't find many +sadist+/Parasite fans too often haha It's a shame that Parasite had only this song, I really like the piano intro.

there's not any 'bands' on this genre lmao but I can't really stand classical baroque music except for a few composers like Bach, Buxtehude or Rameau to name a few. These guys have write stuff for lute and some sonatas that I really dig but I can't stand the rest of their music.

The sad thing about Monster is that the series get a bit boring near the end. oh and I don't know if manga counts, but I extremely recommend Vagabond if you like Claymore/Berserk

Old L'arc en ciel. Or maybe some Luna Sea, their songs aren't that hard.

Great stuff, Angel Vivaldi is really good! He reminds me of Plini. All those bands are good. I've always been a Paul Gilbert fan so I'm happy to see him being mentioned here haha. Oh, and Jeff Loomis is a monster, gotta love his Jason Becker covers.
