  1. I just had my first EDS related dislocation. I was practicing vocals and my jaw went out of socket, but I managed to get it back in but it fucking hurts like shit.

Note to self: Don't scream the lyrics to Banzai Ikare Kei by DEViL KiTTY so intensely

  2. I'm thinking of scanning my Cuartet pics in better quality, and re-ripping my Gill'e Cadith CD so the files aren't so fucking HUGE

  3. Every day I think about the fact that I experienced myspace at its height and used it regularly... when I was 7 to 10. That really tells you how "well" I was parented lol

  4. Tbh, for me, Kimi Wa Surudoku was a disappointment. You have so much potential, being it's the vocalists from Delta Ark and Gill'e Cadith, and yet it sounds like neither and in the decade and more they've existed, they've put out so little and now Karuna is retired.

That isn't to say I didn't enjoy some of their stuff. I did enjoy their work, although it is a bit poppy for my taste to listen to on the daily, and I do like that one song they released as Kegare. But man it could've been so much better.

  5. In メルヘン遊園地 (MARCHEN Yuuenchi) by Missalina Rei, Arisu is basically is just straight up traditional Japanese vocal techniques in the chorus. Of course, wouldn't be the first time a Vkei vocalist has done some form of Traditional Japanese vocals.

  6. Someone needs to deepfake the faces of the members of GossiP onto this (At least Saku's face on Yukika) and put in the 100x better GossiP cover of this song

  7. Well this is definitely one weirder piece of "Traditional" Vietnamese music I've found.

First off, you got the fucking tango music coming out of the Yamaha keyboard, with synths so bad you'd swear they're from a Yuuga song. And then there is the madlad guitarist, attempting to play Vietnamese music over tango, with one fucking hand at some parts. And then you have the guy playing the Dan Sen (two stringed lute) who is just... there...

Vietnamese boomers listen to some crazy stuff

  8. It's not uncommon to see Lapsteel guitars, or "Ha Uy Di" (the closest the Viet language can get to "Hawaii") in Southern Vietnamese Music, but it is pretty rare to see someone do it with a modified acoustic guitar. Personally, I think it sounds cooler than the Electric

  9. Because WiL Francis is.. well.. you know, I'm gonna steal the song "Knife Blood Nightmare" from Aiden. It's now called ナイフ・ブラード・ナイトメア, and it's by Kitsunetsuki (狐憑キ) and it's turned into a Kote Kei song

  10. Did 舞-mai- ever release the version of Kaos ~貸せ殺せ埋めろ~ heard on the Image 漆黒 ii VHS on a CD? I like the organs in that version

  11. Is it just me, or does the chorus for "Carnation" by Kamaitachi go "Thank you for your kindness, I must die by suicide"?

  12. I'm at a weird point where I know a super basic amount of Japanese words and grammar that I'm able to pick out a lot of words and context from Vkei songs.

Maybe there is hope in me learning Japanese. Just gotta find the right program to work with. I tried Duolingo but I didn't like it too much.

  13. I wish there was more Missalina Rei live footage. Their last-live just doesn't cut it for me, because they're barely even dressed in Vkei.

  14. I love Tupac as an artist, but I really feel like he's severely misunderstood. Most people treat him like he's some all righteous Jesus figure, when in reality, he was quite an imperfect guy with a lot of flaws, but I think that actually makes his story interesting.

I mean, for one, he wasn't even originally a gangster. He was a theatre kid from Harlem. He didn't start repping the bloods until Suge waved money in his face, and that's when he really started getting mad with power. I mean, he was literally starting beefs with EVERYONE, even fucking De La Soul of all fucking people. (And contrary to popular misconception, Biggie wasn't a crip, crips weren't a thing in NY at the time, but he did hire crips as bodyguards when he went over to the west coast).

I think MC Eiht put it best. He went backwards by affiliating himself with gangs, and it's just unfortunate it ended the way it did

  15. Is it just me or does it seem like mid 90's indie vkei isn't that well preserved? For the early 90's and late 90's, it's indies galore, but in the middle of the decade, there doesn't seem to be much that I can find.

Maybe I just am not looking in the right places?

If anyone's got any recs, I prefer the Deshabillz and Kamaitachi clones lmao

  16. IMO, I think we're reaching a point in time where we don't have to let the current trends define what we like. We're in an era where you can reproduce any art style from old times, with modern techniques, for not that much money.

The future doesn't have to be minimalism or post-modernism. It can be whatever. I personally believe the ideal future is one where there is diversity in art, and where we're not as bound by time period. We're practically already at that point, but not exactly yet.

  17. I keep forgetting I'm actually sort of known for making weird, cringey comments on YT as a teenager,

and so I occasionally have people I have never seen before reply to me "How did you get here?" on certain videos lol

  18. KiTTiE was probably the closest the west ever got to Visual Kei, both visually and musically and cliche-wise. Their music honestly sounds like it inspired a lot of the Nu Metal Vkei bands that started coming out around 2003.

  19. Well, fellas, we finally have Due Le Quartz PVs in high quality. All thanks to my friend, Kairu. You might know him has the guitarist of En'Cell Dis'Dein, a neo-Kote band.

  20. Welp, since MH is closing, I want to ask all the major uploaders if they would be cool with helping me form a download site for rare Vkei. If you're interested, pop in this discord

  21. I've had my ups and downs with this forum, but I honestly think coming here was in the end a positive experience for me. I've met some amazing and knowledgeable people here, and some really cool and kind souls. This forum helped me develop from a newbie fan into a well listened Kote-Kei slut lmao. I've found so many amazing bands through this forum and if it weren't for the rest of y'all fucking hipsters (and I mean this in an endearing way) I'd probably have quite a different music taste lol.

For those who want to interact with me, I'm on J-Rock One as fairy_aimy. I hope to see y'all there
