It sucks because they're really good but they haven't really done much since returning. A few lives here and there, one single, DVD releases, and a bunch of best-ofs?  Surprised they couldn't get together to at least release one new album. That's almost like X-Japan bad except X-Japan is more annoying about it since they keep teasing an album.

Never thought I'd see the day where Kiyo would ever do anything associated with Yoshiki.

Included with the title track is ALRIGHT, the song which the guys released a PV for earlier in the year. There will be two versions of the single. The regular version will only include the title track SUNA NO TOU and ALRIGHT. The (2012?) dub of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure season 1 will begin airing on adult swim on October 15th.  It will cover the first part of the JoJo story, known as Phantom Blood. Anyway, you can check out the promo in the YouTube video above. Just wanted to give people a head's up since I'm in love with this series. Been a Berserk fanboy for a while now. And eventually got into Fist of the North Star and Franken Fran. Loved those. JoJo is something that I heard about for a long time but I always ignored it. In retrospect, a totally stupid move given how obsessed I am regarding it now.
 
As I mentioned, this first season covers Phantom Blood... Which tends to not be a favorite among JoJo fans. Jojo gets really insane/wild in the later parts. This one of crazy, but more reserved than the others, so I think that has a lot to do why it's not embraced as much. That said, I believe people love this part just not nearly as much as the others. It's fucking great. And, the anime adapations that David Production has done of the series has been fucking incredible. Like, I'm sure there are fans of other mangas who are jealous of what JoJo has gotten over the past several years. Currently they're airing the adaptation for part 4. I'm hoping that makes its way over here too.

TRICERATOPS. Well, not really a discovery as I've been aware of them since the early 2000s, but I never bothered to check them out. And prior to getting into them this summer my only experience with the band was their cover of UNICORN's HIGE TO BOIN on one of the UNICORN tribute albums. Anyway, they're freaking great. I'm a sucker for good pop rock, and they have written a lot of it.
 
 

I don't unerstand Golden Bomber's apppeal/popularity. At least other comedy bands like KISHIDAN, jealkb, and GROUP TAMASHII  play instruments. Like, what do you get out of a Golden Bomber live performance? I was watching the recent Rock in Japan Festival broadcast and they're in it just doing stupid gags while pretend performing. Like the bassist and drummer pretend play and then stop to get the crowd's attention... Meanwhile the song is still playing in the background. Wtf?

What are you even asking?

Just some observations on my part regarding kuroyume when they returned in the late 00's. 
 
They released a heck of alot of A-B-C type releases, most likely because of AVEX's business model, and  I always felt like an artist like kiyoharu wouldn't actively do something like that unless he had to.  I always think of Avex as like dealing with the devil, you get the label support and advertising push (sometimes) but I'm sure artistically you're trading off something.  In kuroyume's case, it led to an excessive release cycle of singles / albums / dvds. that perhaps didn't sell well or rather, in the end, didn't leave kuroyume / kiyoharu with a profit when everything was said and done. Hence SADS and his solo project going on at the same time. I mean, this is the same guy who quit / stopped SADS despite the band having like 10-20 new songs written during the 13 tour just to go solo. 
He pretty much rolled from kuroyume to sads and sads to solo with hardly any break. Instead we were all getting kuroyume / sads music left-and-right like it was Christmas again. Maybe it wasn't so much that he was trying to treat the fans with kuroyume and SADS again but rather some big fat cash advance that caused them to reform.

If I want to be optimistic about all this, if someone buys the rights to all things kuroyume, maybe we'll get some old early 90's concerts on DVDs. I would surely shell out my hard earned cash for those!

It's kind of weird saying this on a (VK focus) Jrock board, but for the longest time that I followed Jrock I've always tended to ignore any of the new VK bands. I was always into the 90s bands mostly, with MUCC, Merry, lynch., being the exceptions.   That said, I still see band names pop up often just by visiting sites... Not that I know what any of these VK bands sound or look like. For example, I know BORN and Lycoan are bands. Never heard their music, but I know they exist. Anyway, I found out about these guys last year. I really liked their violations mini. And the album they released last year was good too. What blew my mind when I was getting into them is that I found out they have been around forever. I thought they were a new and upcoming band ready to make it big. When I saw their discography with releases from 2006 I was like what the fuck? And yet, until last year I had never heard of them.  Ever.  On like any news site. Natalie? Nope. Musicjapan Plus? No. Jame? No. Like, how the fuck did these guys manage to go under the radar so badly. They're pretty fucking good. You would think more people would have made a bigger deal about them.

Like others (I guess) I hope their tribute lays off younger bands and has contemporaries/friends instead: Merry, Plastic Tree, ROTTENGRAFFTY, ROACH, jealkb, caligari, SID, heidi, etc. Now that I think of it, shame Giru disbanded before this was released...

Fucking awesome set of bands right there. That's more like it. And LADIESROOM and TOKYO YANKEES are cool to see though I'm not going to pretend I'm a fan. Love that TUSK is involved here.

I like it.  And I'm okay with them doing what they've been doing all along. I just haven't gotten tired of their sound. Sometimes I get tired of what some musicians do and wish for them to mix things up... I haven't felt that way with lynch.
 
And you have to be careful what you wish for.  lynch. starts doing electro/dance rock and you guys will be bitching about the good ol days when lynch. released albums like DARK.

I don't see DEG going anywhere. If they do break up they'll be back together in a few years. That band is one of the few internationally successful bands... Relative to other Japanese bands.  They would be stupid to toss it away even if their hearts aren't in it. They could  just keep doing side things.
 
And I don't see Babymetal changing their members... That shit would fly in Japanese with people "graduating", but not overseas. People like Babymetal because the pop and metal fusion.  It's not because it's a bunch of teenagers doing it.
