Fans outside of Japan are being blessed with more jrock/vkei events being streamed in various online platforms, so I thought this would be a good time to share any noteworthy upcoming events here as it can be hard to keep track of everything. Help choose the theme for the next trade off! Also feel free to suggest some others, however the one with the most votes will be the theme for the upcoming December music trade off. Please try to vote only if you plan to participate. For new comers, a trade off is a forum wide event where participants are paired up and deliver a mix tape centered around a theme to each other. Finished JJBA part 5 and I'm sad because this series never failed to give me a much need serotonin boost. Moving onto Hunter x Hunter and I even picked up Jujutsu Kaisen because I keep hearing good things about it and the art style is pretty nice.

It's something that would rely on contributions from everyone. I know there are people who keep up with a variety of bands, so I would hope they organically contribute. And it's true, the amount of livestreams has lessened but it doesn't mean the ones that do happen should go unnoticed.

This is a really good idea. As far as I'm aware I don't think we have a place specifically for those but I'll make a thread for it later.

I understand millennial humour is dark and about self deprecation, I do it all the time myself - but only to people I'm close with. It's all well good to normalise therapy and mental illness via humour but idk, maybe a dating website/app isn't the place to do it. If I'm looking for a hook up or even a life-long partner, am I more likely to go the person who's a self proclaimed alcoholic or the one who just says they like football and a beer? (realistically both would be my nightmare, but you know what I mean?) These things shouldn't become a personality trait or something you use to sell yourself/brag about. And what you said about the ott stolen reddit joke, I came across several people whose profile said 'current status: cooked for two, ate for both'' hurr durr I guess it's hard to stand out among a sea of desperation where your odds are pretty low to begin with.

So now that I'm in the singles club, decided to browse tinder. Not my first experience with it, but there's a weird trend I've been noticing on dating apps (and this goes for even queer dating apps) Why are yall describing yourself as 'borderline alcoholic' and 'crackhead' on your profile? Or outright saying 'I've got a ton of issues' 'Depressed bitch' 'Looking for someone with mommy issues' I know we all have problems in this day and age but why are you giving me a list of all your mental/physical illnesses before I even say hi. And describing Ted Mosby as your spirit animal? I actually have to type this profile out cuz this shit is unbelievable Scott, 26 I like to keep a gun under my pillow so incase of a burglary I'm able to shoot myself to avoid social interaction with another human being jfc, either I'm too old for this or the world has gone insane. Impossible to swipe right on anyone, yall suck at selling yourself. It makes me even appreciate the simplicity of that one guy whose profile just said "we go to pub and then we fuck." Ditching the make up wasn't even that big a deal, the musical shift was. Anyway, I enjoyed MISC but it needs some serious work. And re: everything else, LETS agree to disagree.

It doesn't matter if they wanna leave vk, tons of previous vk acts have moved on outside the scene and been successful. Look at Miyavi, sure his music is questionable now but his roots were in vk and there's something special about that. Most people here would've followed dimlim to hell and back, regardless if they carried on in vk or not. The issue is that under RETSU's leadership, dimlim's reputation and image has been turned into a joke. They could've left vk and been signed under any number of other labels that would've managed their look/marketing/social media but, Mr Lets wants to be as true to his craft as possible by managing everything himself, including relations with fans (the very fans who keep this project going, who put food and clothes on their table). I don't think he has any previous experience with this and it shows. Seriously just look at what Issei did with NAZARE in less than a year, dimlim devolved violently when they had every reason to have surpassed NAZARE in popularity/numbers/whatever. If you can't see what's wrong with those interview videos they released on youtube or with the lack of direction/communication that's going on currently, then I'm sorry but I can't spell it out for you more than it's already been done. I don't even know what you are arguing against/for anymore.

People in the thread don't hate dimlim, we want them to succeed because they showed some of the strongest potential we'd seen around in a stale scene. People are salty because dimlim are shooting themselves in the foot and fucking up what could've been fantastic for fans, the band and vk.

dimlim is a great example of biting the hand that feeds you
