Really good film. I loved the photography, really dark and poetic. They are many iconic scenes. Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are really good too.
A modern version of Shakespeare's work but it keeps its essence (the dialogues have not been changed).
The upcoming Assassin's Creed movie will be directed by Justin Kurzel and I have high hopes now !!

Considering they've been playing music together for the last twelve years (RENNY AMY -> D&L -> BORN) I think they've known each other and their musical habits long enough. When it comes to expressing yourself sometimes there is no other solution. I think it's fair that they decide to part on good terms because they've gotten into a very "BORN"-y way of making music and perhaps they want to challenge themselves in new ways? Ray says he is retiring but look forward to the activities of future members more! When one band dies another is born in it's place.

Spring - Calm, slow-burning and completely unique horror film unlike anything I've ever seen. It's romantic, really atmospheric and intelligent. Low-budget, but nicely directed by the duo behind the excellent Resolution, and the two leads Lou Taylor Pucci and Nadia Hilker are amazing in their roles. Fantastic performances!
 
It's just something very different, and as far as horror goes it' fairly close to Thirst, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Låt den rätte komma in and Warm Bodies in that it is a romantic horror film, but all of these are very much different from each other.
 
People who wants to be scared should check out something else, but people want something extremely good and unique, with warm, poetic and beatiful feeling to it should just check out this film right away.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (PS4)
Surprisingly fun game, especially since I wasn't too impressed with last year's offering (Unity). As usual, I've spent a lot of time on side stuff instead of the main storyline. Currently in Sequence 7, but I'm already at max level. I love having a strong female protagonist to play as.. though the character development is lacking, so far. The ziplines and horse carriages offer the best traversal ever in this series, and the special combat finisher animations are ridiculously brutal, just the way I like it. 
 
Diabolik Lovers: Dark Fate (PS Vita)
I was really into the first Diabolik Lovers, but not so much into the sequel More Blood, because they added too many romance-able characters (4 more for 10 in total) and I didn't like the dumb "Adam" storyline. Unfortunately, Dark Fate basically continues that storyline, while adding TWO MORE characters. Another issue I have is that, for the 10 returning characters, the heroine starts the game already in a relationship with them, so it's kind of... boring? She also kind of pisses me off because she's such a damsel in distress. And she overcomes her problems with the power of kindness and forgiveness. Ugh. This will be the last Diabolik Lovers game I buy.
Most favourite dudes: Shuu, Subaru
Least favourite dudes: Kanato, Azusa - I will straight up skip these guys' scenarios, they make my skin crawl in a bad way.
 
Dragon's Crown (PS Vita)
I don't really get the hype behind this game. Maybe it's more fun if you're playing it co-op, but I don't like doing that. The character design is mostly atrocious. I'm sure you've all seen the Sorceress and Amazon by now. I'm stuck playing as an Archer because she was the female option with the least offensive design. But aiming her arrows is terrible, it's hard to tell what "lane" I'm in, and I end up missing half the time. Maybe I just suck at it. Anyway, between having to repeat the same dungeons over and over, and sorting through tons of loot that is 90% trash, and the horrible AI for your party members... and the disgusting artwork of the half-naked mermaid & fairy that greet you every time you go through those dungeons..  I think I might give up on this game.
 
Grow Home (PS4)
I haven't put much time into this game, because it literally makes me nauseous. I don't know why. It's not even first person. Maybe it's the heights? Also I have a lot of trouble controlling the vines while growing them. Might be another one for the "abandon" pile. It's a shame because, aside from those problems, I like what it's doing.
 
Bastion (PS4)
Another game that is seriously hyped. It seems ok so far (probably 3-4 hours in), but I'm not in love with it. I put it on hold for Assassin's Creed, and I'm not sure if I'll go back to it.
 
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- (PS4)
I haven't played this much at all. Never played any Guilty Gear before, but picked this up for $15 on PSN. I'm not a competitive fighting game player, I just like screwing around against AI sometimes. Played through some tutorial stuff and it looks nice so far. (I mostly bought it because I love how much I-no resembles/copies Shiina Ringo)
 
Gems of War (PS4)
I've been playing this on my iPhone for a long time. It has ZERO business being on PS4, but I'm playing it there for trophies. It's a F2P match-3 game from the makers of Puzzle Quest. It's a good, almost-brainless time-waster.

Crippling depression, chronic sickness, and a disinterest in almost everything coming out had me thinking twice about releasing a list this year. You guys motivated me to get off my ass and finish this, so this post is for you. I can say that most releases I was looking forward to from the beginning of the year either never came out or disappointed me. I also came across a lot of music that was "great" but not necessarily something I would enjoy sharing on this list. I waffled between adding one or two more albums but decided at the last minute to exclude them. This is by far my shortest list ever with only 13 entries but I kind of like it that way.

I still have to listen to the album a bit more, but I really don't think this one is on par with ammonite or ink. Hacienda and Kokuhaku are great, the single songs are good, but the rest is kinda meh. A 7/10 for me.

I was really happy that Pura were releasing a new album (they've always been an 'album band' for me), but I couldn't even finish it on my first listen. So terribly flat and boring, it's like nobody really plays what they play with any sort of active interest and Ryuutarou's vocals are like "I'm getting too old for this guys, I don't rly give a damn anyway."
I'll try my best to re-listen sometime in the future, but the urge isn't too strong...
On a positove note, I liked the sounds of Insomnia Blues. Cant remember the actual song for the life of me tho, only that it was pleasant.

OMG Susumu the legend! I really need to listen to him more... great list, Jig!

Consider this a mixture of Best New Tracks and the traditional Top 25 List. While ORZ was busy putting together the former list for you, we realized that there are plenty of artists who released amazing music this year that may not necessarily be albums. I just randomly decided to browse the store, when I noticed my page would one moment be in Russian, then in French. Checked my account information, and i was able to see someone else's account information, the last four digits of their credit card number and their recent purchases. So far I've probably seen the account information of ten different Steam users.

After reading the thread in Reddit, it seems to be wise to NOT:
1. change your information
2. log in to Steam
 
But DO check that there are no suspicious charges on your credit card. I have no idea what's going on, I just hope Valve will fix this soon.

I really hope that this won't eventually turn out that "reborn ritual" of Versailles performed at 2015/12/28 fails there (due to departure of MASASHI & YUKI) and then Versailles fall eternal sleep (don't blame me...)
 
if Versailles will be actually reborn, I hope some new release
 
btw YUKI has mentioned to "expand my own musical activities and challenge my potential as a drummer" as his reason to depart from Jupiter, and thus imo he would not stay with almost the same line-up after that departure (i.e. maybe limited-period revival up to 2016/04/29)

Can we talk about how terrible the name "D" is? If you couldn't get past the first letter of naming your band, you should re-evaluate your life.
