backstreet boys was the very first musical act i saw as a "favorite" when i was a kid dir en grey weren't my gate to japanese music. before that i was listening to anisongs and jpop groups like morning musume...plus i was already listening to VK acts before them. but "VULGAR" changed everything bands like evanescence/linkin park/placebo also helped me dive into other scenes. evanescence was the first female fronted rock band i liked. placebo's older stuff is still among my personal all time favorites and most influential. i got to know those bands thanks to my sister. now throw all of that in a blender and you have my music taste today oh and i forgot to mention 1 year after i discovered VK (around 2005~2006) i got into kpop thanks to DBSK
