Saishu got a reaction from nullmoon in #108: DIR EN GREY - VESTIGE OF SCRATCHES
How they figured Audrey fit Macabre but ain’t afraid to die didn’t is even more baffling. Only reason I can imagine ain’t afraid to die didn’t fit was because there were already three long ballads on there (not to mention Macabre’s 11 minute long ass).
Know what? Fuck it! Ain’t afraid to die should have taken Taiyou no Ao’s place!

Worst thing about being a DEG fan that’s a grown ass man: being lumped in with the fucking weirdos that squee over everything from new haircuts to some subtle facial tics Kyo makes during an interview. Makes me wonder if any of them are actually even listening to the music.

I did the same, except I called my VESTIGE playlists "VESTIGE OF ASSES"

Rinkaku is mostly just a slightly different mix. More low end, and Shinya’s toms sound less digital than the single version.
The ending is so fucking gorgeous it hurts.

Saishu reacted to geist in Dir en grey
I’ve always been puzzled by those sentiments because if you’re a band that writes, promotes, releases, and tours music — your entire purpose is to maximize how many people are buying your products and for how much. These guys don’t do it for free, they expect that you’ll give them money in return for whatever they’re selling and promoting.
To criticize ANYTHING as being a “cash grab” in popular music just seems weird to me because that’s the whole point.

It’s also funny specifically calling this a cash grab when that’s basically what any greatest hits/best of collection is.

It still needs to be tweaked. I was going for a combination of Arche at Budokan 2016.02.06 and just trying to treat it as an old school LP with a side a and side b, with and zero being the split. I also liked the idea of starting things off with one of the more somber tracks and ending with a positive one.
Its still kind of a mess, but DEG never really adhering to one style makes it difficult to get a good flow.

Embryo has different lyrics and Ryoujoku no Ame has re-recorded vocals. Those are the first two I think of aside from what you already mentioned.
I actually prefer Lotus’ single version. It has better dynamics I think.

The problem is with the track sequencing, which is another issue DEG has. Very rarely do their albums flow well from track to track. The problem with DSS is Different Sense shouldn’t have followed Beelezebub; it’s too different of a mood shift for it to work, so they slapped on that interlude that sounds like Shinya and Toshiya tumbled down the stairs together.
I mean, shit, why is Clever Sleazoid in between Namamekashiki and Ware, Yami Tote on Vestige? That’s ridiculous. Arche is a mess too, especially the latter half.

Same here. In fact, I have a playlist that’s a drastically altered Arche with the inclusion of and Zero and Tefu Tefu.

I mentioned it elsewhere, but they used several mixing engineers for this, not one. And I refuse to believe no one thinks the now-audible bass and drums in the Vulgar and WtD tracks is an improvement. Not all the remastering worked well, but then I think some of this stuff couldn’t be saved to begin with (Kisou, Marrow).

Know what else? Drain Away should have been replaced with Amber.
The fans have failed.

Wait wait wait... I refuse to believe more fans voted for Maggots over Ryoujoku no Ame... wtf.
Still taking issue with Dozing Green’s placement. Closer to Marrow or whatever, but Clever Sleazoid is in the same situation.
So I just got my physical copy today, and the list of mixing engineers is rather extensive. Unless they got all the original mixers to come back and remaster the tracks they did, my guess is that all of disc 3 is untouched, because Tue Madsen is listed for about 90% of those tracks, and they’re all the ones he did originally. I also recognize Jens Bogren’s name, and he mixed the Hageshisa single (including Zan).
I think these mofos cut corners on that third disc.

But so is I’ll.
Surely they played it during the Mode of Macabre tour.

MOAB has that same harsh, unpolished wall of static sound as Kisou. They both also feature some of Kyo’s most “offensive” lyrics.
I also draw parallels between Macabre and Uroboros, but that’s just me.

To this day these are the only lyrics I hear when Iisten to this song.

To be honest I thought they replaced him a while ago, but then I realized he just stopped wearing dresses.
