I like the guitar tones going on here. You've got their classic chorus-flange pedal thing going on (they don't do it enough anymore) and a very bright mandolin-sounding tone too. I know the recorder pulled the mic away for some dynamics, but hopefully we won't have to do the same with the final mix.

It's great from a collector's perspective even if the vinyl itself is iffy. Producers and engineers are getting better at mastering for vinyl these days, but when a band like Dir en grey insists on using 2004 iPod optimized production, it's not great.
But anyway, if I like the artwork for this new album maybe I'll preorder it.

You have a point there. I've only spun each once and wasn't too impressed... at least the artwork is cool. Obviously digital productions pressed to analog are always funny.
-
I'm on the fence about preordering this album. I skipped out on Arche, plus I'm more interested in vinyl these days.

Don't get me wrong because I really do like that DVD, but it definitely marks a low point in Kyo's vocal health.

Remember the performance of Lotus on the Rinkaku DVD? Ouch.

Does the name DIMLIM mean anything?

Has that happened before? I for one would welcome a band made of divine Yamato blood.

I miss the ROO era. MOO was good too. I always find it hilarious when these guys try to take themselves so seriously but fans find a way to make them look silly.
We haven't seen the cover for the new album yet, but perhaps the typeset will spell out another fun message.

It's a joke from bygone days.

You must not have been looking in the right places.

They’ve really gone downhill since they lost the Adidas sponsorship. Being able to spend their budget on all kinds of fun things like sitars and Tibetan bowls sure beats spending on the finest production techniques of the Loudness War.
I don’t know what this band is doing, man.

Dude's got a kit with 9000 cymbals and they just have him using his MIDI snare and kick pedal triggers. It's sad because I know he can do better.
-
Has it gone up for sale digitally anywhere?
-
I knew making an album geared for children would be too bold of a move for a band of this stature.

被る was a weird choice because of its connotation. Not nearly as straightforward as 着る, plus it makes me think of hats.
-
Which track might it be? Downfall sounds like a good fit conceptually.
-
And of course they'll all be cherrypicked or poor representation of the songs.
-
I can't decide if I like the band itself or hating on it more. I haven't taken these goofballs seriously in over ten years but I still like the band.

Devote My Life will be a silly piano ballad and Celebrate Empty Howls is exactly what you think it sounds like.
DIR EN GREY released their 10th album "The Insulated World" on September 26, 2018

I think everyone wants to sound like sukekiyo these days.
