Victim of Deception vocalist Daichi has passed away

Victim of Deception has announced that their vocalist Daichi has passed away on October 28 after a sudden illness.

 

As a result, the band has canceled the rest of their remaining live dates this year, and are currently discussing activities for next year. Daichi's funeral was also held for family and friends only.

いつもVoDを応援して頂いている皆様に大切なお知らせがあります。

 

初期より活動を共にしてきたボーカル Daichi が 10/28日 急病により逝去致しました。

 

本当に突然の出来事で、メンバー・スタッフも心の整理ができず、未だに受け入れられずにいます。

 

Daichiは、音楽を作る人間としてどう在るべきか、ステージに立ち言葉を投げかける者として何を伝えるべきか、自分たちを応援してくれる人たちに対してどう接していくべきか、音楽に対する姿勢や立ち振る舞いを、私生活の中でもストイックに考え続けていました。

 

彼は人一倍に負けず嫌いで、誰にも言わず悔しがったり、静かに闘志を燃やしたり、バンドに対して本当に特別な思いを持ってずっと歌ってきた、生粋の表現者です。

 

僕達は家族同然に、多くの時間を共に過ごし、時にぶつかり合ったりして、それでも同じ道を確実に一歩一歩進んできました。

評価や批判も全員で共有し受け止め、バンドを成長させるべく話し合いも重ねてきました。

僕達はこの5人でVoDであり、この5人でなければVoDではなくここまでやり続ける事もできなかったでしょう。

 

彼が居なくなり空いてしまった穴は、決して同じようには埋めることはできません。

彼とここまで作り上げたVoDをこれからどうしていくべきなのか、今後メンバーと話し合いを重ね答えを出したいと思います。

 

フロントマンとして、バンドメイトとして、また大切な親友として、僕達はDaichiに最大限の敬意を表すと共に、彼の冥福を心から祈っています。

 

これまで彼を応援して頂いたファンの方々、そして支えて下さった友人・関係者の皆様へは、本当に申し訳ない気持ちと感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

本当にありがとうございました。

 

 

これに伴い、年内出演予定だった以下ライブにつきましてはキャンセルさせて頂きます。

楽しみにして頂いていた方々には、本当に申し訳ありません。

来年以降のライブ活動の可否については、メンバーと話し合い結論を出させていただく次第です。

 

 

尚、葬儀は近親者の方と一部の友人のみで執り行われました。

いつも応援して頂いている皆様には、バンドとして何ができるか検討しております。

また改めてお知らせさせて頂きたいと思いますので、今は少し時間をください。

Ikr, it actually debunks the "sudden illness" excuse, which I didn't even buy in the first place...it still fucking sucks tho.

It's a damn shame, but any time I read "sudden illness" I can only think it's self inflicted ...

don't let this stop you from getting into VoD. the members are all very talented musicians and definitely deserve to have their past releases recognized, because they are incredible.

 

and i'm sure they'd appreciate any support they can get right now.
