What a shitty set list.

lol If that's shitty, I don't know what good is.

And Kasumi was played in their previous tour right before they came to the US this year (other songs played that tour included Mushi, 304 Goushitsu, Myaku, Hotarubi, Sajou no Uta, embryo, etc.). They have definitely been branching out their setlists the last few Japanese tours.

Here's an example of one of their setlists from back in June:

1.神葬 (Shinsou)

2.304??室??白死??桜 (304 Goushitsu, Hakushi no Sakura)

3. 秒「??深 (Byo Shin)

4.THE FATAL BELIEVER

5.凱歌??沈黙??眠る 頃 (Gaika, Chinmoku Ga Nemuru Koro)

6.冷血??り???? (Reiketsu Nariseba)

7.激????????????胸??中??絡??付??????熱??闇 (Hageshisato, Kono Mune no Nakade Karamitsuita Shakunetsu no Yami)

8. ?????? (Kasumi)

~INWARD SCREAM~

9. 逆上堪能ケロイドミルク (Gyakujou Tannou Keloid Milk)

10.ROTTING ROOT

11.BUGABOO

12.OBSCURE

13.AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS-UNPLUGGED-

14.DOZING GREEN

15.??紅 (Shokubeni)

16.RED SOIL

17.残 (Zan)

EN1.???? (Hotarubi)

EN2.DISABLED COMPLEXES

EN3.STUCK MAN

EN4.AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS

EN5.鼓動 (Kodou)

EN6.CHILD PREY

Pretty fucking amazing.

Really? A good setlist for me is a setlist that consists of good songs. It's not any more complicated than that. So now you can smile and be happy. Finally you know what a good setlist is.

You're welcome.

Dir en grey is working on that Stalin cover album, but the way Kaoru described it was that they changed it into their own song (they used their weird tuning and reworked the whole song). So this can hold us over for sometime. Kaoru has also said to remain patient, and they are announcing something soon.

This could be a new single because their album is around 20 - 30% complete and won't be released till Summer, so a single in the next month or two would be perfect.

Here's a video of the original.

Gross ... apparently the vocalist was throwing pig entrails into the audience. I wonder if this is where Kyo got the whole Mad Stalin thing ...

Mad Stalin is a reference to The Stalin, after all...Michiro Endo (the vocalist of the Stalin) is the one who inspired kyo to become a vocalist.

And some live footage from one of their shows in japan surfaced, and there's a relatively brief clip of the new obscure...and it sounds pretty awesome.

the original track is your standard Stalin-punk. This is unlike anything I've ever heard.

This, in a nutshell. My head's still spinning. I have no words available at my disposal to not only describe this, but categorize it into some sort of genre. In that respect, Diru did it again.
