Gosh i just love Nightmare. Like some of their fans I found them threw Death Note as well and from then on I have been hooked! My personal favorite is Ni~ya but Ruka is my Idol. I'm excited about their release(s?) in August of this year.

@madygrain Im hoping it has more of a rock feel to it then [sCUMS] did. I mean the dubstep and all that was placed well but the album was everywhere musically and didn't really flow like their others did.

I liked sums theme and flow overall, but I feel they have to do a more calm and mature kind of music now, with harder riffs for climaxes. The great contrast with scums would also help, I think.

I love the mature, complex sound that Nightmare has been putting out of late but I do miss the crunchy, heaviness that their first set of albums had. If somehow they could blend the two sounds in a way that you could tell its two different Nightmare styles I would love it instantly.

Nightmare fans! I need some help. My friends and I want to do a group Nightmare copslay (for 2014 Anime Central) but the thing is we want to do the most ICONIC look Nightmare has ever had. So when you picture them, what look do you see? The more responses to this will help greatly! If you can't get a hold of me here then try my Twitter @fragmentedNaito

I'd like to see people cosplaying their very early looks, like this. But that kote thing is a matter of taste and wasn't really "iconic"about them either... so can't help with that.

General, my opnion on this band: well, I am one of those loosers who can't get into modern visual kei, so I haven't listened to anything of their disco that was released after 2006/2007 and only have heard a few new songs. I really loved their early stuff until Outlaw (maybe their first album too) but then they already started to bore me. It's not really their fault, but I guess I am too obsessed about dark, heavy old school inspired visual kei.
Though their demo tapes have had a 3$ budget and horrible production quality and the band members didn't even know what they were doing with their instruments I still appreciate them. I wish some bands who started out this way have kept their powerful, aggressive and expressionistic style.

Nothing against their current music; they are surely one of the definitely better vk bands today. And in comparison to how they started, they have improved a lot. They have good songwriting, they can play their instruments, yomi can now sing... but the style they are doing today is just bland and unimpressive for me.

Face it. That's most of the J-Rock bands to this day. Most of their styles are just meh. With age they became a bit more sophisticated and focus less on their image.

Nightmare, Dir en Grey, sadie, Girugamesh, Screw, and don't even get me started with the GazettE....

I just watched the PV for I'm high roller...

I didn't get the song to begin with, and I didn't get the video either. It's kind of that Nega - Deluge Video, in which the members participate in some "win or get killed" casino game. Only with the difference that this video has been made even more stupid and senseless. Not to talk from the fact that the song is way too weak to even be considered as a PV.

Actually I couldn't stop thinking of Sendai Kamotsu because that's where I would more expect this song to come from.

I have heard of Nightmare before they played in Death's Note anime and Claymore. I really like their Raison d'Etre. That was an awesome song. I like Sakito the most since he is the only that I have noticed.

That has to be amazing to go to. I really would love to see them live along with a few others.

I didn't find a specific thread for the alterego so I will ask my question here.

I came across Sendai Kamotsu in 2006. Kamisama mou sukoshi dake was the first song I listened to by this band and quite enjoyed the PV and other songs. However, lately I have been wondering about the band. Sendai Kamostu is all about "gay" themes, but they oversexualise homosexuality and it might sometimes be perceived as they are laughing at homosexuality/homosexuals. I don't know enough Japanese so I cannot go deep into their lyrics, but by watching the PVs I see this sort of oversexualisation and perhaps an unintentional excessive mockery of homosexuality

My question is, are they being disrespectful? Have they ever been questioned for this? Have they ever expressed their true opinion on homosexuality? Do they support LGBT in Japan?

All I know is that homosexuality is still a taboo in Japan...

They are obvously mocking gays. It's like when we were young and thought it was funny to act like disabled people. A funny issue, but not necessarily meant offensive.

Well, I don't know how japanese artists do it in Japan. I guess since homosexuality is taboo there it is not common for them to show support for any minority groups publicly as western artists do.

Perhaps, they are not intentionally being disrespectful, but it might sometimes be perceived that way. Not that someone cannot make fun of some things, the problem comes when it is about a minority that has little to no space to express their discontent or to demistify prejudices and stereotypes.

Japanese people seem to be so politically correct that perhaps they don't complain about these things if someone feels bothered by them...

I'm searching like forever for a file of Nightmare's Zange demo in which the first song's track of Hitsugi is actually audible (Jigyaku niku hana). Has anyone stumbled across it by chance or possess it? Would love to know!

I had heard some NIGHTMARE randomly here and there, so I decided to buy their newest album SCUMS, and I'm not a big fan of that album admittedly.  I should check out some of their older stuff.  SCUMS has too much going on sometimes I feel, lol.

^ Yeah definitely! If you'd like to try a major album of theirs I'd say majestical parade. A lot of people somehow find it an atrocious album but I personally think it's their best major album.
