What video games are you currently playing?

Recommended Posts

I'm upset that I'm not running a good PC to download any games on. So this Steam sale is quite a bother to me. My video card is quite literally almost burned out with how old it is, so no Steam fun for me regardless of how many good games are on sale there.

I've just finished playing Watch_Dogs on the XBONE. I'd say the storyline was marvellous and enjoyable, but relatively short. They could've done so much more with the concept and could've thrown some variation into the game. It was promised to be the new generation of innovative gaming, but to me it sort of just felt like a GTA spin-off that they didn't put that much effort into.

Finished Saints Row 4. Started playing Dishonored, but it's just hard to play it on my laptop. This game isn't for laptop for sure.

yeah definitely not. it plays flawlessly on a decent desktop rig though :)

Playing a lot of Shovel Knight still... really I'm just in love with this game  also playing Dark Souls II still whenever I feel like it.

LOL, right. I'm in a foreign country ATM, so I don't have a desktop.

Palying stealth games on laptop isn't a good idea at all. :lolita_lol:

Shovel Knight reached Megaman's leven? Then maybe I should play it. I also loved Megaman. Kirby's Dream Land, along with Super Mario World.

Well it's inspired by a bunch of different games which includes classic megaman and metroid among countless others. Shovel Knight was originally a kickstarter project that reached 3-4 times it's initial goal and is considered to be a very successful Kickstarter. It finally released a few weeks ago on Steam, Wii U, and 3DS eshop for $15. I would say it is definitely worth the purchase and it should run perfectly on a laptop.

here's the kickstarter page if you would like to know more about it; https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yachtclubgames/shovel-knight

A recommendation for all of you who loves old school gaming:

Shovel Knight

I played this at my brother this week. It's a retro action game wich, due to different reasons, brings video games like Super Mario Bros 3, Megaman, Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Duck Tales to mind, without being a copycat in any way. It takes element from all these games and makes it into something new, fresh and unique, and despite it being modern (as in the creaters doing things that wasn't possible in older games), it gives you the feeling of playing, looking and listening to an old game. The gameplay, story, humour, visuals and soundtrack is all top notch.

I haven't played through it yet, but I've gotten pretty far and it is nothing short of genius. 10/10 wihout any doubt whatsoever.

Ah yes, the art of procrastination :D  I was quite good at that myself in college.  I had many hours (and days) lost in the world of Fallout 3

I can feel you, brother. :lolita_cheerful:  Well I'm still lost in Mojave Wasteland. True classics never fade, no matter how many times you finish it.

Finished Farcry Blood Dragon on PC. Enjoyable game that's got 80's entertainment reference porn all over it. It's just that, Uplay... ugh.

Now moved on to Brothers - A Tale of 2 Sons. Interesting gameplay where you have to control the 2 brothers at once and clever use of getting around the puzzles. Nice visuals for its style.

Been continuing on Payday 2. If you can ignore the numerous amounts of small bugs or blunders, you'll love this co-op game overall.

Playing Shovel Knight and Final Fantasy Type-0 Still.

FF Type-0 is supremely underrated imo. The ending is just.. whoa. (not gonna spoil it for you!)

I finished X-COM: Enemy Unknown a while ago, I still have no idea why some ppl think it's a "hard" game. Maybe I'll re-play Fatal Frame 2 again and this time try to clear mission mode with 100% SS rank to placate the completionist in me XD

Its really not underated if you ask me, it's just that nobody has played it since there wasn't an English patch till last month. For me it's pretty much the best FF since XII on ps2 ;)

just recently found out that PS2 emulators work pretty darn well and now am terribly addicted to FF-X. also this is a great opportunity to experience a FF game that is considered one of the best (i think?) without knowing pretty much anything about the story/universe :) (currently about 35hours in...)

next stop shadow of the colossus
