^ You should specify the time at which the breakdown occurs on all of the videos.

Anyhow, UPLIFT SPICE are known to have some pretty rad breakdowns at times. Most recently in their song "U & I" - from 2:00 to 2:33

Well, presumably other people don't have the time to listen through 7 videos just to find the breakdowns. If you want other people to listen to them and discuss them, maybe you should take the time. Or, instead of posting a bunch of videos at once, just post 1 or 2 and give some info on them, like you did in your first post. Then other people will actually be able to do something with your post and you will get some feedback.

Im gonna edit them right now (finally im done doing what i was doing), and the main reason i posted a bunch was for bump up.  and thanks for merging them.

There is no need to bump your own thread. If people are interested, they will post. Just be patient :)

Even though "-coreism" (let's call it that way) has plagued vk/"post-vk" music for a long time by for eg. switching complex, frilly instrumentals to somewhat monotonous chugginess with cacophonous arpeggios (you might already name a few bands who do that ~all the time~), I just happen to have a suggestion to give in terms of that. It might be pretty say, "generic" to certain people (it was the same for me at first), but experiencing it live and being bias-stricken at the same time made me feel otherwise. Ready?

Yup, Dir en grey's Hageshisato! Hard to pick the best version tho but still, it was one of the most memorable moments for me back in their Nosturi gig.

The first thing that came to my mind was DELUHI's "HYBRID TRUTH" (1:17-1:30 and a longer breakdown after the chorus @ 1:50+):

Not exactly a big fan of metalcore in general but I consider this song a vk masterpiece.

That's an awesome video I really need to look into some of those bands. I didn't realize that so many of the newer bands were putting in hardcore breaks. I know BIOSPHIA and NOKUBURA for the heavy stuff, that's about it. I haven't been listening to a lot of VK these days but the thread title didn't say it had to be from visual bands so I thought I'd share some of my favorite crunch right now.

This entire song is basically one massive breakdown but, 1:00-1:30, then another at 2:20-2:55. This band is so sick, I really hope they find a new singer soon.

0:56-1:58, + 3:40-4:35

1:58-2:30

2:00-3:00

Man just making this list got me so amped up. I need to go make some tea. hahaha

Oh and also my favorite favorite dubstep breakdown in the universe. 1:50-2:40

2:00 - 2:22 also love the tricks they all do during the ending part with the drum roll.

2:28 - 2:53 Not a fan really of the song, but I thought that breakdown was awesome

Wowow this band sounds great, need to check if I can find stuff of them here

On topic, just going with some of the first ones I used to love. Not really breakdowns in the sense of Metalcore though:

If we have to stick with blackdoll's definition of what is a "breakdown" (then again, "breakdown" is a vague concept) - math-y acts like "The Fall of Troy" or such tend to have breakdowns I am rather fond of instead of this OH! DUNDUNDUN-goofery (looking at you, lynch.) :

2:25 - 3:25 and 6:25 - 7:30

And now back to how I understand "breakdowns" generally (rhythmic/simplified pattern etc. - doesn't have to be one note chugging or tom abuse):

My quirky favs Primus and Mr. Bungle used to have some funny breakdowns, that also sport tons of oomph without resorting to unnecessary lowered tuning craze

E.g.

1:57 - 3:02

I like how Claypool intensifies his bass riff pattern even further in this one

4:35 - 7:12

This is so unusual, albeit very funny breakdown lol

Also, in terms of "pre-7-string" DEG (no shitstorms, please):

2:00 - 2:25

I like how people automatically "get into the song" by clapping along and how Kyo/the band improvises this part a bit with a couple of frills...gives some sort of tribal feeling, heh.
