NEXT SONG: Charly Blacks & J Capri - Wine & Kotch
I was hanging out here with a couple of my good friends and since I was browsing the forums here I put this song on for us. Pretty mtuch an excellent song, though we are not familiar with the Jamacain (?) scene we all loved it alot. The rythym and flow are on point, the song is dripping with flavor. It's the perfect thing to listen to while drinking and hanging out, it will definitely get you hyped. Our only complaint which isn't a major one is we have no idea what "Wine and Kotch" means. All in all though, absolutely excellent, 8/10.

I personally prefer RES, but I have to admit at times Satsuki's voice wasn't appropriate for their sound. His solo is a bit too pop for me, but some songs really suits his voice. I've understood that many agree with you though...
I accidently came across a picture of Misaruka today and it pissed me off....reminded me of how bad they are. The first thing I saw with them was that horrible cover of Malice Mizer's song Gekka no yasoukyoku, and as a Malice Mizer fan I couldn't have gotten a worse start with that band. Saw them live half a year ago and that didn't really help, the members seemed rather annoying and the music is the kind which sounds the same (a cd sounds like 3 different songs, that kind). To be honest I could probably add all the bands on Kiwamu's label (except for Velvet Eden, despitethem going downhills I can't hate them since I absolutly love the first 3 eras)
I just wanna say as someone who's been following Velvet Eden since they came out pretty much, Double Twelve is my favorite album from them. Sure they used alot of their old songs as a crutch but it really is an opus magna from them. However their new single was meh.

Desperately hope someone uploads some Laissez Faire for me in my request thread, trying to make good on a 2 year promise
-
What do you recommend from each of them? I'm not so much into like screamo/metalcore, more of straight metal and more artsy kinda stuff.
-
Not trying to sound rude, but in general the thai language just sounds like ass to me, I couldn't really get into their scene. I do like the rapper Thaitanium tho.
-
I like Extasy Records and Free-Will along with some of the stuff from early Undercode and PS Company.
-
I have tinnitus in my right ear as a result of severe head trauma. They had to drill a hole in my right temple to drain blood before my brain hemmorhaged. Tinnitus is a bitch, but very luckily for me music is one of the few things that lessen the constant ringing.
-
Here's one, you probably heard of them but I believe they are criminally underrated outside of Germany.

For me in no particular order, they're all equal:
1. Malice Mizer - Mervailles
2. Due'le Quartz - Jisatsu Ganbou
3. Luna Sea - Mother
4. Soft Ballet - Earth Born
5. Dead End - Ghost of Romance
6. Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape
7. Rush - Power Windows
8. Yellow Magic Orchestra - Solid State Survivor
9. Siam Shade - Siam Shade II
All of these albums to me are timeless, and I'll probably be listening to them for the rest of my life.

Just read your reviews, all pretty great. I'm just using them as a primer to get back into current vk really as I mainly listen to the older stuff (85-2010). Nue and MORE really stuck out for me they're great. As with MORE, I was a huge fan of Konig but I never heard Sugar. Pretty eye opening stuff. Nue's song Deep Sea was amazing as hell, haven't heard anything quite like it in a long time.

I wanna play bloodbourne so bad, but I'm stuck with a potato computer and no current gen system. Just moved, will work for food haha
edit: Also I don't watch the tournament videos for fighters until a game has been established for a few months after release at least, so I don't get any precocious ideas.
-
Vega's my main in IV was wondering if you've used him in V and how he feels? I heard he's not a charge char anymore. Also, I need to get back into the Souls games, beat em both but there's still so much to do.

Currently playing Ultra Street Fighter IV online on Steam. (I know V is out, potato computer no ps4)
Awaiting Soul Calibur VI

Wow that's excellent, I was a huge fan of Sekima II back in the day. I'm hyped!
-
Two guitarists, that's what I like to see

@plastic_rainbow Thanks, I downloaded the album and listened to it in it's entirety, it was quite good!
Here's one of my favorite instrumentals that I blast all the time when I'm driving, it's got that sweet energy:
-
@Plastic_Rainbow - I do like Bis, they're pretty great. I can't really stand most of Boris' work however, but they have some stuff that stands out for me, though I'm not a fan of either song posted on your list.
For me:
1. Gonin-Ish - Nare no Hate
2. Iron Maiden - Powerslave
3. Kimonos - Almost Human
4. Dr. Dre - Stranded on Death Row
5. La'Cryma Christi - Vampire Circus
6. M-Flo loves Emyli & Yoshika - Loop In My Heart
7. Pierrot - Jisatsu no Riyuu
8. Sigh - Bring Back the Dead
9. Orphaned Land - Disciples of the Sacred Oath
10. Lance of Thrill - Green for Green
My list is kinda jacked lol..

I'm pretty sure there isn't a thread for this. Being a lover of instrumentals and ost's in general, I tend to love SE/instrumental tracks just as much the band's usual material. And by SE/instrumental tracks I am referring to bands who sometimes slip in SE tracks at the beginning of an ep or album to set the mood, or lengthier instrumental tracks with no actual lyrics, or minimal vocals that bands don't usually do. Obviously, this is not a thread for bands who mainly write instrumental tracks. ^^
And this is not limited to VK bands only. With that being said, I'll start off with a few of my favorites.
NoGod - Aozora
A lengthy instrumental track with sick guitars.
What are some of your favorite SE/instrumental tracks?
Holy crap I had no idea NoGod was this good at guitar, what album is this from? I must have it.
-
Ones that I still love would be - Yellow Magic Orchestra, Luna Sea, Malice Mizer, Buck-Tick, Soft Ballet, Dead End, Gilles de Rais, Ancestral, Megaromania. To me, they're all timeless.
Some that I've fallen out with - Ayabie, Vidoll, Dir en Grey, Asian Kungfu Generation, Jupiter, and Moi Dix Mois. Granted I still like some of their songs, but I barely listen to any of their music anymore. It just bores me :/
-
As I've been getting older, I've been losing interest in newer VK. However, I'm not saying all new bands aren't good it's just that most lack a certain finesse the older bands had. I mainly like 90's vk, and there's quite a few good bands from 2000-2010. Another thing is I don't have time to keep up with all the new releases etc.. Eitherway though, the VK classics will never die for me.

I'm devoid of music, lost most of the stuff on my computer and far too lazy to rip my cds.. All I need from you is to recommend me some sick ass Japanese beats. I'm talking stuff that's like hard rock, or very sleek and smooth and fast. I need YOUR fucking beats, so drop them on me please, and I love you Monochrome.
-
Gay bastard reporting in. I have a flair for the past I suppose. Even though he's old in the last picture, I love Sakamoto.

Agreed, again, their cd's are like 2 different songs... I think Hizaki and Teru's stuck in a rut
When Kamijo left it relly showed he was a big part of Versailles creativity.
I don't have much to say besides the fact that I completely agree with you. Kamijo's solo stuff by contrast is actually quite awesome I think, so I'm not really too disappointed.
Starwave Records and...

I don't know much about Starwave but I will say that I absolutely love the band Nue, so there's that I guess.
