  2. These guys need a thread on here! Dance Gavin Dance is a post-hardcore band based in Sacramento, California, and formed in 2005. Dance Gavin Dance's music has been described as a blend between emo, post-hardcore, jazz fusion, progressive rock and screamo. The band has been through 3 vocalists (on/off) and numerous band member changes (on/off as well), and it's been a hectic ride for them the last decade or so. DGD's music has remained simply fantastic, being one of Rise Records best bands to ever grace their presence. Current Line-Up Vocals: Tilian Pearson Unclean Vocals: Jon Mess (He also raps in some tracks too) Lead Guitar: Will Swan Bass Guitar: Tim Feerick Drums: Matt Mingus Albums Downtown Battle Mountain (2007) Dance Gavin Dance (2008) Happiness (2009) Downtown Battle Mountain II (2011) Acceptance Speech (2013) Instant Gratification (2015) Mothership (2016) EP's Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean (2006) Live albums Live at Bamboozle 2010 (2010) Tree City Sessions (2016) The internet is always in an uproar about who the best vocalist was/is. I'll let you decide for yourself. Jonny Craig (2005-2007) Kurt Travis (2007-2010) Jonny Craig Returned (2010-2012) Tilian Pearson (2012-Present)
  3. Dance Gavin Dance is like the only American Band I follow anymore lol.

This is always good. Will wait for release until I listen to this.
  5. This is funny b/c I started learning Japanese when I was 10 lol. Bought various books and CDs (before Rosetta Stone existed), and would read them endlessly. Other than the basic #s/date/small phrases, nothing has been able to stick. It's like I have Japanese Dyslexia lol I even took 2 years of Japanese in college, and I only picked up small sentences, and maybe 20 kanji haha. I couldn't write them to save my life doe haha. I blame the english language.
  6. I never used to. Hell, the best I could do before was microwave a hot dog lol. Then I met someone, who encouraged me to cook, and it was cooking together with them that helped me ease into that cooking hobby. Now I cook at least 4 times a week, sometimes for 8+ people, since we have a potluck at my job a lot. It's very rewarding. I am hoping to tackle cooking an entire turkey by the book this thanksgiving. I kinda wanna butterfly the 'sumbitch lol, but I'll stick to tradition.
  7. GAUZE. Mothafuckin' GAUZE. Play like this again, ftlog pleaaaaase!
  8. Hmm let's see. FB when I'm desperate. Twitter b/c I have to remain hip with the new gen kids. Tumblr for my P0rn Flickr/Photobucket for my Photog shots Instagram to pass my boredom Pinterest for my fashion updates Skype for international chat I have a snapchat, and good god I hate it. If it wasn't for the basic bitches here in Chicago using it, and being an easier way to hook up rather than just asking for their #, I'd have gotten rid of it lol. I also use the Playstation Message system too lol for gaming updates
  9. Well, originally I thought it was 2002, when I was exposed to Gackt and listened to moon. Then when I found out that GLAY/Laputa were Vkei too, I had to reconsider. So, like around 1998. Doesn't feel that way at all lol.
  10. I own more than 1/ 2 of these, and some weren't even on this list haha. Can't forget ma rootz!
  11. From a financial standpoint, hellllll no. I could not afford it. From a social standpoint, I don't think I know enough people that I actually tolerate, in order to use as them groomsmen or even a best man lol. Or do I care enough to invite them at all. From a love standpoint, I don't believe in such a thing. If I was together with someone for many years, that I knew I could trust and I knew I'd go to great lengths for as a loyal dog, then I'd consider it. Only if they asked me in a sincere way and I knew that there was no ill thought behind the idea.

Holy fuck. Seriously?!?!? Will we now be required to preorder CDs for dem posters? I hope the bookstores in Chicago don't get wind of this yet. They'll hike the price lol.
  13. Not surprised at all by these results. Very kind of you to take the time to compile this data. Good Job! Most of these bands are/were levels above the rest in terms of talent, creativity, influence, and charisma. Popularity is/was a major factor as well, and most of these bands have/had "it" to become nostalgic to the community. My stomach turns to think that mejibray could have that many votes lol

Hellooooooo! Welcome to the site finally. Take part in the many topics and news articles we have on the site! Some good people on here. I like Nagoya Kei (KEEL, the god and death stars, and lynch. are my current faves) the most, but I'm open to other Vkei styles. D'espa fan yay. There are many others. What's a mechatronic technician? Sounds cool.

I've reached a point in my life where I am now questioning if what I perceive to be true, can no longer apply today.

AVANTGARDE is a tricky one to review lol Tempos are crazy for the most part, and yet the composition has little changed (from D.A.R.K.), besides the fact that they have combined old styles of play into some of the tracks. Fine by me haha. Tracks I enjoyed the most were PLEDGE, UNELMA, PHANTOM, KILLING CULT, PRAYER, and FAREWELL. Not only were they heavier in guitar play, but drumming is versatile, with constant changes in tempo. It was like listening to a freestyle from these guys; all I could focus on was the music. As it should be. I don't want my mind to go elsewhere right now. The one track I LOVED TO DEATH was PHANTOM. I can't put into words how this track is levels beyond anything on this album (or any ballad this year). Choosing to slow down a ballad as much as they possibly could, and throw in elements that reminded me of MELANCHOLIC, my favorite track from D.A.R.K. is just goddamn. Thank god I listened to the Lossless copy of this, as I would have missed the detail in Hazuki's voice, as he struggles against his breath, yet his words come out so smooth. His tone of voice is famous for purposely sounding so mellow and lifeless, yet there's emotion in every word he speaks. The way the guitar cords drift off into what feels like a cold and eerie void; so far, that you can just picture yourself watching them travel further and further away until they almost disappear from your sight, and then being picked back up by the drums in an instant. I'm going to sing along to this for a long time. Overall, I enjoyed listening to AVANTGARDE, tapping my foot numerous times to a # of tracks. My first listen late at night couldn't have been a better time. Catchy songs are catchy, I'm sorry haha. D.A.R.K. blows this album out of the water (my review of it exists), but there really is no competition needed. I'm enjoying their current music direction, and whether or not their next work will sound completely different is not really something to be concerned about. These guys love doing what they do, and that makes me happy.
