Just as a follow up to this, I've started using Google Play Music and apart from a pretty janky interface it's perfect! There's a 50,000 song limit for the free account but that's more than enough space. I get to stream my music collection wherever I like just by using their app

Not at all. But I think some of what I said might've given you the wrong impression. I don't think people should be taught the idea that sex is integral in a relationship. I know many happy couples that get by without had having sex. I got kind of fixated on the friends with benefits scenario and just meant to say I think it's tough to do something like that and separate yourself emotionally (from my perspective anyways). Anyways, I thought I kind of made my stance clear in my first paragraph that your love for someone should trumph over your lust for them. No one should ever demand sex and make you feel bad for not giving it to them. In my eyes, it's more like they're using you then since they're judging your worth based on how good you make them feel. And that's just shitty.
 
And about all the different voices saying different things about sex and intimacy, fuck it all. Obviously, yeah it's good to hear it all out but, in the end, you gotta do what you're comfortable with right? I empathize with you on that because I'm experiencing that right now. I've got so many different people telling me to do different things with love and relationships, but no one's bothered to ask me what I actually want to do. And a lot of what they tell me doesn't resonate with me because it's a lot of "just go have sex with a girl" or "yeah, find a lovely girl you can just bang and don't think too much about it". I think what's most important is communication between you and your significant other anyways. Whatever you two deem comfortable is fine because it works for you two and no one should be judging you because we're not the same people.

I'm 26, inexperienced as fuck and the older I get the more I push suitors and relationships away due to the potential pressure of sex because people see it as such a vital component. And I've also been rejected for wanting to get to know people first instead. The struggle is real.
I've only had long distance relationships with other women because it's the only kind of romantic relationship that doesn't make me feel pressured and stigmatized

My friends call me a weeb and emo for mentioning VK and say all my bandmen look ugly.

Tbh the relationship was fun in the begin, but now I look at it I was just a trophy to that guy, he loved me at first, but quickly let me be covered in dust by ignoring me and only giving me attention again when "showing me off" to his friends :)))))))

Tbf if a couple is watching porn together (emphasis on together) I see it as a deeper level of trust and partnership. There's something VERY intimate about porn taste. Even more intimate than having your genitals licked if you ask me.

It still shocks me that people got into VK during the 90s and early 2000s. I always thought it was a MySpace era thing but seeing all the poorly aged blogs was such an eye opener.
 
I know someone on the Diru subreddit who actually went to their Blitz 5Days concert during the Macarbe part of the tour. 
 
 

Does anybody remember this band that was put together in Japan to be marketed in the west? They folded immediately after failing to garner interest and instead of listening to the fans telling them "this is not actually what we meant when we said you should bring VK overseas" the promoters blamed piracy culture for the death of their little experiment.
 
The whole period was a hilarious trainwreck on many fronts but that tiny bit of visibility still felt like such a ray of sunshine, little things like the PV for Saku getting voted all the way up to #1 on some european MTV chart really testify to how large and optimistic the fanbase was around then.

Oh no, I'm not french. I was one of those other envious european weeaboos.  The maximum I was able to score at the time were two overpriced (still MUUUCH cheaper than importing originals from Japan) taiwanese bootlegs with X-Japan and Lareine PVs from my comic book shop. It was before the Youtube era and PVs were not so easy to find and download.
 
When in 2004 I discovered Cdjapan I recuperated all I could from Lareine discography (adding M10M to), tho.
 
The fact that around 2007/8 some bands did get EU editions you could actually find in music stores blew all our 1st-wave minds. It was a surreal experience to go in a store and find them among other western music and at the same price (true story).

I was recently on meetup.com in a bid to get out the damn house and socialise but the groups look boring and OF COURSE there aren't any VK groups. It's a disgrace XD
