how weird is it that DEG's best song of all time is a demo version of one of their most boring songs of all time

Wow, this sounds so different to the album version! I haven't really delved much into singles/demos but how many of their songs are like this?

I am convinced this is some elaborate trolling, lol. I tried to watch the movie last night, but gave up a bit after halftime, it just wasn't doing anything for me. I skipped into it for a few minutes afterwards but it was just all so lame-looking and weak... Also, seemed very much jumpscare-heavy, which I absolutely hate. Guess this just wasn't for me.

I watched the whole thing and it's overrated. It's OK but doesn't do anything new or clever. I think people's standards are lower due to lockdown boredom :)

the fact is that all of their remakes are better than their original versions and i will give irrefutable proof that you just can not compete with right here:

    a) more modern recording quality. cutting edge modern editing & recording techinques used by the creme de la creme of western metal and japanese metal alike

    b) deeper voice. kyo's screams have never sounded better. he is the japanese mike patton and he DESERVES to show it off because other bands can't compete with that twisted madness

    c) old songs are too visual kei. there i said it. you may not like it but its true: now finally these songs are dope enough to actually listen to with your friends who listen to real metal because there are CRAZY riffs and hardcore vocals that don't sound visual kei

    d) more poetic lyrics. compare the lyrics for the original tsumi to batsu to the lyrics of tsumi to kisei? yeah.... enough said i think. don't need to elaborate

    e) they play them live. honestly - compare the amount of times the band has played the original versions of these songs live after the remakes came out to the amount of times they've played the new versions live. it's obvious even the band KNOWS that these remakes are doper. better. and also more intense & that's why they play them live

just my opinion... i dont know why you guys insist on doubting these guys. they gave us sustain the untruth ffs!

    You missed this one!

    f) Obscure remake *chef's kiss, mic drop*

(Two words, one guitar (because who needs layering?))

Not enough to be aware of this lol. Still, that doesn't really excuse characters who are that poorly written, imo. I'm fine with having a character who's a bit of a dick or maybe a bit annoying who then develops into a more understandable, relatable character, even if they do still retain their core characteristics that they had at the start (in fact, I like that as it makes room for character development) but I really can't deal with something that has something so unbearably frustrating that takes way too long to resolve and then the creators are like "ah, but this is what it's all been building up to!". Your job as a creator is to hook the audience from the beginning and make them wonder what happens next, not to annoy the everliving shite out of them and make them hope something actually happens next.

That being said, I don't doubt you seeing as you've obviously watched more than I have 😆

Trust me, I had all the same reservations and was pretty disgusted at the straight up sexism I saw. You're absolutely right, potential fans should be hooked from the get go! So when the episode ended with that attack I thought "hmm...I'll give it another shot". The next few episodes have the same effect admittedly but once it gets going, you'll enjoy it. Granted, Meliodas and Elizabeth are probably the most one-dimensional but the other characters are really likeable with their own respective, heart-wrenching arcs.

Right, let's talk Seven Deadly Sins.

I like the setting. I like the tone. I like the art style; it's quirky without being ostentatious. The colour palette is vibrant. It's a good concept. The character designs are nice and the characters themselves are cool and fun to watch, for the most part. Now, if only Meliodas and Elizabeth weren't the most annoying fucking characters ever. Like seriously, Meliodas has a fucking awful and downright creepy/off-putting personality and needs a swift kick upside the chin and Elizabeth needs to fucking grow a spine and and a brain, if she even knows what either of those things are. They were made to fit archetypal roles and that's it. Chivalrous pervert hero, damsel in distress princess heroine. They're so damn tropey it hurts.

How much have you watched? I felt this way for the first few episodes (with the first episode being so damn perverted it almost put me off entirely). However it really improves once they focus on the actual plot.
